The first round went fine and the course is beautiful and expansive (long rides between green and tee boxes), I don't think anyone would want to walk the course unless you have 6-7 hours. The second round didn't go so well. We were told that we had a threesome in front of us and that we would be able to finish the second 18 no problem. We got on the 2nd hole and that threesome became a sixsome. We called the pro shop and they sent the starter out, it initially cleared up but by hole #7 there were 6 people on the green all playing their shots. We called again and it became a he said she said thing. We were told that there the 2 extras were only watching, but yet 6 people had bags on their carts. To make things worse, our cart died. We had to get pushed to the turn where we switched out our cart. While we were getting our cart switched, I walked into the pro shop to voice my displeasure and asked if they usually let sixsomes out. The reply was "not usually, but sometimes". If I had known that, I wouldn't have driven 1.5 hours and paid $200! Since the people in charge decided to do nothing about the sixsome and we would never finish the second 9, we decided to play the front 9 AGAIN. After 3 holes, our cart died again. There was no answer from the pro shop and we asked the cart girl to send help...that help never came. To top it all off after having my cart pushed for the remaining 6-7 holes, when we finished, we pushed the cart next to my car where I unloaded everything. I was about to leave and someone who was in charge of the carts came and got the cart, he told me "it was a d!ck move to leave the cart there". So I have 1 cart that doesn't work, switch it out for another cart that doesn't work, have to play behind a sixsome and don't get to play the 2nd back 9, and I am the one who is wrong? It's unfortunate because the course is beautiful, but the customer experience is probably the worst I have ever had. It was not worth the drive or the money for me.

I always enjoy going to this location. They also have a nice bar and dining area inside. Outside is a shaded seating. After the golfing is finished there is a great buffet. I have liked their food each year. The staff is amazing. Joe is the best along with bartenders. They hire great people and is such a nice 9 hole golf course.

No cartoon signs, no silly characters or theme, no name, no ice cream, you can't even pay at the little hut, you have to go into the pro shop with the "serious" golfers. In the back of the parking lot, past the overgrown weeds and shoddy practice green we saw a small black chain link fence lined with weeds and bare patches. It was so unwelcoming we almost didn't play. Thankfully though, we did. Inside that fence waits one of the most beautiful and perfect mini golf courses I've ever seen. The landscaping was beautiful while having limited flowers, so bees weren't an issue, though I would advise bringing bug spray as the far side borders a heavily wooded area. The greens were bright, clean and lined beautifully. The holes were creative and unique. We first heard the water feature on the third hole, and didn't see it until later, which speaks to the layout, which was remarkable, and also featured a few spots where you looked back on holes you'd already played at a vantage point that seemed to have had real thought put into its placement. The only thing missing from this mini golf course was the cartoon feel, which seemed intentional, and worked such that I wouldn't say it was missing, but better off without in this case.

There were no lifeguards when we went. The water was enjoyable to swim in back in the day. The area is beautiful and can get really packed. Currently, swimming, cooking, or fires are not allowed; however, there are many trails in the area and the pond is used for fishing kayaking/canoeing, and boating. There is a boat ramp to launch those. There is also a boat ramp on the Connecticut side. This body of water is 60-feet deep and 430-acres. Fishing is very popular here; types of fish that can be found are, brown/rainbow trout, pickerel, bass, perch, catfish, and walleye. Overall, a great spot to hang out on a canoe/kayak/fish, wish we can swim in it again though.

Getting into the parking lot isn't a problem but getting out might be. Cars are flying past the entrance way at a pretty fast speed. There's a boat launch and a small pier but that's about it. Fishing is prohibited during certain times of the year along with swimming but for the life of me I don't know why people would want to go swimming? There's no shower facility or changing room. There is a restroom that looks more like and outhouse to me. I was going to check it out for the sake of the review then realized some things are best left to wonder. Overall three stars.
