This is our first year at Miss Bees. I have an 8th grader at MBMS who needed motivation and direction. This last semester she made honor roll. I couldn't be happier. In addition to this, they are very understanding and extremely accommodating. They always want to make our extensive schedule changes work. I also love that the rooms they study in are bright, happy, and easy. The staff is super friendly and very responsive to my calls and questions. There are simply no words to describe how wonderful Miss Bee's is. My son had a very traumatic first year of public school in kindergarten which led us to pursue homeschooling via a local charter school. After two years, he can still show hesitation and fear when it comes to anything school/ classroom related, so we have to be extremely careful and aware when introducing him to new school situations. In order to strengthen his reading skills, I reached out to Miss Bee's to get some more info and see what type of help they offered. While their services are a bit pricey (thank you, charter school funds!) they are worth every penny! We were matched up with Sarah who is a complete godsend. My son felt an instant connection with her and was put right at ease from the first moment they met (he even went as far as telling me I could leave him there when normally he needs me in the same room for comfort and security). Miss Sarah is SO sweet and encouraging with him which always leaves him excited for his next session. While we started off with their 4 session intro package which will be over with this week, my son is already asking for me to purchase more sessions to continue his twice-a-week meetings with Sarah. He began his sessions already loving books but was very self conscious with his reading skills. After just 2 sessions he's picking up books on his own to practice for Miss Sarah (I guess mom is chopped liver now!) I can't thank Laura, Miss Sarah, and the entire staff enough for their wonderful establishment and warm, comfortable, and welcoming place for kids to really gain confidence and enjoy themselves. Took my son here because it was a closer drive than kumon. The staff and everyone was really nice and friendly however the results were terrible. Their method of tutoring was completely ineffective on my son after several weeks and ended up taking him back to kumon. read more

This is my first experience having tutors for my kids. Very easy to sign up and they are super flexible and accommodates my hectic schedule. The tutors are real teachers who have extensive experience. My son (1st grade) and my daughter (preschool) are always so excited for their lessons, they can't wait! My son just started here this school year. He loves going 3 days a week to the Homework Club. He likes the tutors and is understanding the Eureka Math!!! He even got an A on his first test! My son was struggling to keep up with the demands of daily homework, in particular the new way of teaching Math (I could not help him since it is so different than how my husband or I learned Math). Miss Bee's is the place to be! Not only do you get the help you need to succeed, but you get to learn from all of the amazing tutors in a great environment that allows you to focus on your studies. All the of tutors at Miss Bee's are experts at whatever it is you need tutoring on. They're also some of the friendliest and nicest people who truly do care about each and every students' success. It is very flexible and they are understanding of the fact people have hectic schedules and may need to cancel or change times. Miss Bee herself is lovely. She shares her wisdom with all and is very welcoming to everyone. She maintains a great learning environment in her beautiful space located in central Hermosa Beach. I don't get tutored regularly, only when I need the extra help. Both times I have gone the results have been wonderful. I walk in confused and 60 minutes later walk out confident. Overall, there truly are no negatives about Miss Bees. It is perfect place to study or do homework and the tutors go out of their way to ensure that you know the material.
