Both of my kids go to this location. It started with my oldest when she needed math help in 1st grade. I am glad I made the decision to take her there. The staff is friendly and always willing to take time to answer any questions I have. They will also update you with your child's progress periodically. My daughter is now going into 6th grade and her math is above her grade level. My son started asking to go as well as he wanted to join the action. Both of them have been going there for many years and I do see a huge improvement in their math skills. Terrible Experience! This place is incredibly loud, with constant phone conversations, door slamming, and an overly loud manager. I advise against paying in advance; you won't get your money back. The manager signed me up for a six-month plan and promised prorated refunds if we changed our minds. After two months, when my son decided he didn't want to continue, I asked for a refund, and the manager had no recollection of the promise. Money scam! read more

My 8 year old started Mathnasium this (2023) summer. He had been doing Kumon for a few years and hated it more than anything else in the world! Despite the fact that he is good at math and loves it. Learning by repetition was not his preferred style of learning and he got bored easily. What a breath of fresh air Mathnasium has been. Everyone here has been attentive, professional, and genuinely interested in my son's learning and development. Mathnasium is the place to go for specialized tutoring for students in mathematics. I brought my younger brother here and in the 3 months he was enrolled I saw his confidence grow, and his grades get better. We purchased the one on one sessions so he could get the maximum attention to detail from the tutors. Although one on one means more $$$, it was the best decision we could have made. I definitely recommend Mathnasium specifically for mathematics, but in the case of other subjects there are other centers that can help this just isn't one. read more

I am so happy I found this place, but more importantly, my daughter is ecstatic that I found this place. From the moment we stepped in we knew it was different (in a good way) than other places we visited. My daughter begged me to sign her up right away! The environment is so bright and positive. You can tell they really want the students to have a positive relationship with math and problem solving/critical thinking skills. While they recommend she goes twice a week, she loves it so much she goes basically everyday that they are open. My kid was in first grade last year. Due to the pandemic, all of the regular classes from school has to be conducted via Zoom. My kid was very confused with all the math concept like simple arithmetic process. Then my kid moved on to second grade which we noticed was very much behind on the curriculum. We decided to enroll my kid with online tutoring with Mathnasium. After a month, my kid was able to do subtraction and addition with no problem. We were glad was back on track thanks to everyone at the Rolling Hill location. Also, all the staffs are very prompted in responding to SMS and messages if I have any questions. They communicate via text message in a timely manner and are very professional in their communication style. During the pandemic, they offered online classes and transitioned my daughter to in-person instruction smoothly. My two kids went to this place for two year. Recently I found my kids are not interested in math as before. I asked anything happens at math class? He told me they got many instructors left, and new instructor came. Some of new instructor not answering their questions properly. Yesterday I met their new director Torry, and complained about my kid's lower interest of math, and she told me they care of schools grade, she tried to ignoring my question. I told her my kids been here for 1 year, the ranking at school is not the most important right now. What is matters is compare to himself，then she rolled her eyes and not nicely talking to me. Also, her assistant, a Taiwanness guy was also staring at me, so asked for their owner's phone number. I called their Boss in their front, and the owner did not answer my phone, so I left a message. It's been already one day passed. The owner still did not call me back, and it happened during week days. I found the owner only care about the money he makes, so he does not care about the service for these customers and employees. I still have one month classes with prepaid classes, the director told me she can not refund the money back. May be that is why does not want to give a call back to me. Since they are not going to give me money back, forr the rest of one month kids won't going to this place. I am going to lost one month money, but learned a lesson. This facility and its program is by far one of our greatest investments for our children's future. My daughter started at the age of 7 and my son started at the age of 5. They both started on zoom, as we were in the middle of the pandemic, and despite the distant learning, the instructors were very organized, were able to clearly assess where my children may have been having difficulties when learning a new concept, and were always very patient in their methodologies. We have since them gone in person, and just as before, it has been a wonderful experience. They are organized, the children go right to their binder and find a seat, and they begin their work without wasting time. The instructors are constantly asking them questions, instructing them, reviewing their work and strategies with them, and helping them really get a strong foundation of each new concept introduced to them. In additional, the director or head instructors will call me monthly to update me on their progress, ask if I have any questions, and seek my input as to what concepts I would like them to work on, or ask what they are learning at school as to keep things consistent while still moving them ahead. My children had a strong understanding of math, but I have seen a world of improvement since they joined Mathnasium. Their ability to think quicker, strategize in their problem solving, and pick up new concepts without explanation has been tenfold. Just started here and my daughter loves it. First it was the prize incentive system but it quickly became about learning math. Love the flexibility and friendly staff. I stay the entire time due to food allergies but they never make me feel unwelcome. They come over and socialize which is awesome! And highly appreciated! My daughter loves going there. She is not only improving in math but she is liking it more which is a big thing. And since my teaching skills for math are old school, I'm very happy to see young people who are excited about math and who can teach her different ways. The old director Teddy is definitely missed and he was great but he went and got married so we will give him a break. But Nick is the new director and he is totally awesome. My daughter feels very comfortable there and we enjoy being there also. My only complaint would be some people bring kids in and siblings and they play loudly in the main room which is sometimes distracting to the kids working right near by. I know parents some times just need their kids to be playing while other siblings are working but I think maybe that's a policy that needs to be looked at. Also, it's the same with kids when parents are being talked to. Otherwise, it's a great place with a super friendly and get along with kids great staff. And maybe in a year, my child will earn enough cards to finally get the prize she wants. read more

I highly recommend Mathnasium. As a former Kumon alumnae, I find Mathnasium's approach superior. Mathnasium's staff instructs their students rather than Kumon's independent rote learning method. Teddy, the director, was able to personalize my children's learning plans based on their needs. He addressed one of my child's developing anxiety toward math and I am amazed at her academic growth over the year. My other child said, "I am smart because I go to Mathnasium." The staff as a whole strives to make authentic connections with their material for my children to understand the real-life applications of math in their everyday life. Teddy, Nick, Ariel, and Mark make learning fun for my reluctant learner. The staff as whole invests their time in each student and answers questions promptly. I have observed the recent success of this particular location and with their growth they continue to grow their staff with their increasing enrollment. We first heard that Mathnasium was opening in PV and was so excited to try it out. My son loves math and we've been looking for a tutor with no luck. I went online and filled out an inquiry and within minutes, I got a call from Teddy. We were on winter break and we decided to go ahead and book an assessment session at the Redondo Beach location since the RHE hasn't opened yet. Fast forward 3 months, my son is still loving it. He loves math and looks forward to going Monday-Thursdays! Sometimes on the weekends he'll ask what we are doing and if we have free time, he asks to go! The staff seems great and Teddy is professional and friendly. He really make the place shine with his welcoming personality. There's always staff staggered in the work area so that they can assist kids if they have any questions during working. In the 2 full months they've been open, they've added on lot of students and I'm so glad that they are successful and doing so well in PV! It does get busy especially right when they open around 3:00pm when kids come straight from school, but they have plenty of seats for the kids and when I asked my son if he has hard time concentrating because of it, he said that it didn't bother him. They use this card reward system to keep the kids motivated and it's working for my kiddo! Definitely take advantage of their free session and try it out. I'm sure your child will fall in love with math. I wish we had this when I was growing up! They are open Monday-Thursdays 3-7:30pm and Sat/Sun 1-4pm. You can come anytime during their open hours and your 60 minutes starts when your child clocks in. So nice to be able to drop in when it's convenient for us! My son, 7 years old, was frustrated when he was doing his math homework, and I, who was not educated in the US, struggled to teach it to him very much (Especially during pandemics). If I kept teaching him math, he would hate it, then I enrolled him in Mathnasium which my friend recommended. My son's attitude and interest in math changed dramatically. (And my stress level went down. ) Now, he actively incorporates math into his life, such as reading a clock and using multiplication when he thinks about how many snacks he can share with his family equally. I think I can honestly say I have tried just about everything to improve my daughters math grade over the last few years (Kumon, Veritas, tutor clubs, a zillion tutors....) Mathnasium is hands down the best program we have tried. My 2 daughters (9th & 6th grade) have made remarkable improvements in their math grades in just 3 months. Mathnasium will do a comprehensive math evaluation to measure your child's individual strengths & weakness. Then they will customize a learning plan exclusively for them. The child keeps working on their individual math units until they master each concept and then " test out" of that discipline to progress to the next level and math concept. This approach really works as it addresses the basic principle that you can only really progress and do well in math, if you have a good foundation. Tutoring at my daughter's grade level was a waste of time and a waste of money. Mathnasium offers a multi attack approach that I really like. You work on the "holes" in your math knowledge (even if it's a few grades BELOW your current grade to ensure complete understanding) You can get math homework help any school night Monday-Thursday PLUS Sunday (great for High school level) and test prep. If you really want to up your game, one-on-one tutoring is also available. Hours are flexible (drop in 3-7:30 M-TH Sun 1-4) My first impression was it looked like a little kid's math program and there was no way I was going to get my high school and middle school daughters to go back. They have really clicked with the tutors and made remarkable improvements in math. It's a serious chunk of change, but you are getting tutoring every night, plus the only comprehensive math program I have discovered. Kind of like a 2 for 1 program! read more

This program, especially this location, is a godsend for parents whose children could use the additional tutorial guidance to either simply excel at mathematics or to be the top of the class. Teddy has impressed my wife and I with his ability to quickly assess the individual child and determine the proper course for math advancement.
