The doors swing in the wrong directions so it is very hard ti get into the stall without pressing up against the toilet, and I only weigh 150lbs. They need to switch the stall doors to swing outwards so it is not so hard to use the bathrooms. I

The really lucky part is that he comes on-site to my company twice a week (sometimes it pays to work for the man), so I haven't been to the yoga studio in Portland. What I can tell you is that I was completely new to yoga before taking Jim's class and he puts you wonderfully at ease. He's been teaching yoga or other sports for over 30 years and he is funny. I wasn't expecting that. Trying something new can be a little intimidating and he just has such a warmth about him. The class is filled with people of all shapes, sizes and abilities as well as injuries and he does a nice job of checking in and pushing you forward or pulling you back as needed. He'll tell you the real name of the pose, but the nick names he throws out are great. He calls one pose "Hi, Sailor." Since I'm a Type A, yoga is a great way to relax and focus at the same time, but I tell you the last five minutes of deep meditation is still hardest part for me. One of these days I'll find my inner peace.

Joined about a year ago,…read morealong with my wife and young daughters with the goal of teaching my daughter with severe anxiety how to swim. First few times visiting were fine- facilities are a bit outdated, but staff friendly enough. 4th time or so, when I am one one one with my daughter trying to teach her how to swim, the lifeguard informs us that we need to put a lifejacket on her. I explained to him that we cannot because it will trigger a panic attack, he gets his supervisor and insists. We acquiesce trying to anvoid a scene (mind you I am a physician annd former lifeguard being told what to do with my special needs child by an 16 year old) and of course it causes a horrible panic attack, complete with screaming and intense tears etc. Quite a painful scene for us. Supervisor arrives and asks us to leave if we don't immediately put on the life jacket on her (horribly embarrassing for myself, my daughter, and our family). Informs us that if we enroll her in a private class that she would be allowed to swim with me without a lifejacket ($$$). When we explain her special needs, She tells us that they understands special needs inner concerns are unwarranted because they are special needs themselves. After this episode, I contacted the leadership who put me in touch with the director who straight up denied this offer was made (clearly was not there), would not apologize, and was unwilling to meet us halfway to any degree for our family's needs. Thankfully, they refunded our membership cost for the year, and I will never ever go back. I am giving two stars instead of one tub reflect a few friendly staff members who tried to make this right before I got to the director who more or less told us to piss off with our special needs family. Is this place family friendly? Not particularly. Is this place special needs friendly? Not at all. Their inflexibility was stunningly hurtful and inappropriate I hope they see this review and know exactly who we are and can reflect on this interaction with a new member family.
