I used Laura's CSET I and CSET II study guides to pass those tests -- both on the first attempt…read more The Guides were spot-on -- representative of the material found on the exams. Her detailed explanations are very helpful for gaining understanding and confidence, and her style of instruction is somehow calming. -- as if to say, "relax, this is not as hard as it might seem at first". I just ordered her guide for CSET III (Calculus) and am looking forward to diving in to it. I highly recommend Laura's study guides, which can be ordered from her website at: https://sites.google.com/site/laura4math/cset-study-guides_1?authuser=0

I purchased all 3 of Laura's study guides for the math CSETs. If I was only reviewing the first 2,…read morethis would absolutely be a 5-star review: they are amazing, thorough, and exactly what you need to pass! However, I cannot advise anyone to purchase part 3 in good-faith without a strong warning. The material is fine, and she is forthcoming about this study guide being "different", but once you purchase it you'll see the quality-disparity is pretty drastic in a not-so-great way. Laura provides videos where she goes through them, but the questions are not modeled after real CSET questions , which is the entire magic of the first 2. In addition, several of the worksheets assume we can use a calculator, but calculators aren't allowed on the CSET, which proves these questions and worksheets are NOT what we actually need for the test it's supposed to be guiding us on. While I am sure part 3 is sufficient to pass, it feels very bare-minimum compared to the first 2. I think pricing all 3 equally gave a false-impression, since the disparity in usefulness/uniqueness are massive. The first 2 study guides are unlike anything else out there, and set her apart from the rest; but I cannot advise anyone to purchase part 3 unless you don't have any other resources.

The office staff was so warm and welcoming, and our daughter loved picking out her supplies to create her own I Can Academy bag. Her teacher was incredibly kind and created such a positive, engaging learning atmosphere. During the class, I even heard my daughter shout, "I can read!" When it ended, she was smiling and excited to bring home new flash cards to practice blending sounds. A few days later, she had an assessment at a private school for kindergarten, which included sounding out letters and blending them. She did so well--and I couldn't believe how quickly the lessons from the academy had already made an impact. This is absolutely the place to go if you want a warm, child-first learning experience. We highly recommend it!

Hello, This is a fellow 7th grader at I Can Academy. I have to say, the staff are extremely nice…read moreand caring! Most of them are parents, so they have proper experience with this kind of stuff. The best part about the staff is that they don't just focus on teaching, they focus on YOU. The teachers have less students which means they can focus on students individually. Other schools have teachers which focus on the class as a student body. The teachers want to know YOU and what YOU need help on and what YOU like. It may be smaller than your average school, but makes up for it for the indivual care the teachers put into the students. It's a great cross between homeschool and school, where you have less stress and all the kids are chill and you get all the knowledge you need. It's a great low-stress alternative with social aspects to homeschool. ICA also has class 2 days a week (Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday). ICA helps kids LEARN subjects at an more appropriate pace and is great with helping each student GROW to be the best version of themselves. ICA will make your child SOAR into the wonders of fun and low-stress! Thanks ICA!

They have not raised their prices on the tutoring costs for our two kids in the last two years. We are super grateful for the discounts they've provided us to help keep the cost down for the both of our high schoolers. 2. We originally needed some Algebra 1 help for our older daughter, but we've been providing our kids with all kinds of help. Both of our kids have had straight A's in their math classes for the last three years!!! We've also been using their English tutors, and Marco has been super awesome for English. 3. Our kids' grades have been monitored by STEM Tutors on a weekly basis, and anything something comes up, they let us know right away so that our kids never fall behind. 4. Our daughter is currently being tutored by Sunny through their SAT Prep program, and we're confident that Jessica will do the best she can this August! We would highly recommend this company to anyone with kids.

If I could give this location zero stars, I would. I signed my daughter up for their summer math…read moreprogram hoping to give her a head start heading into 2nd grade. I paid their $800 fee up front, made our first appointment through their system and showed up. They had no idea who we were and why we were there. Apparently she needed to finish up her assessment which we had almost completed the first time we went to the location. We were told by the person there that Robert tends to tell parents the assessment is much shorter to complete than it is to get them into the facility. She completed the assessment during the session and while I was talking with the person there, he proceeded to shout back to another child to do their work. My daughter was so uncomfortable the entire time she was there, and once I witnessed this interaction, there was no way I felt comfortable with her attending. I emailed the location and explained my experience and asked for a refund since no services had been rendered - only the initial assessment. I received a phone message from Robert stating we would be refunded yet after another 6 weeks, we still saw no credit on our account. I contacted them again and then received an e-mail from Robert that our refund request had actually be declined by 'ownership' and he offered to put a credit towards 1:1 tutoring or their school year program. I told him tutoring during the school year does not work for us because our daughter is highly involved in sports and there's no room in her schedule once her fall season starts and requested the owners' direct contact information. I received another voicemail message from Robert stating again that my refund request has been declined and my only way forward is to call my credit card company and ask for a charge back from the facility. What absolutely terrible customer service. Now I'm still fighting with them for a refund and again asked for the owner's contact information which I still have not been provided. I even called the number and received an answer from a call center and they too would not provide it. I would caution anyone looking to sign your child up you give it good thought. Once you pay them, you will NOT get your money back regardless of your experience.
