Located a block off the square, this tea room has an antique store connected. Perfect for lunch, the menu was small, affordable, and well thought out. Each meal was under $6. No table or place setting was the same. It was an eclectic, shabby chic style but well presented. The staff was friendly, efficient, and makes me want to visit them again. Thanks for making Sparta look so good.

Precious place and great food = fantastic combo. Homemade egg salad and cheesy potato soup was perfect lunch for me today!

Ask the Community - Miss Marenda's Tea Room

Are reservations accepted and do they take credit cards?

I can't answer for certain on the reservations but I don't believe so...its pretty much first come first served. However, if you have a large party, you certainly would want to call ahead. They do accept debit cards so I'm sure credit cards are…

Not because it tasted bad, but because I then came to try the fruit tea which was delicious.

We have visited the Sparta, TN store numerous times and have had nothing but excellent experiences…read more We normally go to purchase various grains that we mill into flour at home as we need. Raphael is wonderful and knowledgeable. We recently started using their Southern Biscuit flour that they mill on site and I am telling you, they are the best biscuits I have ever baked. I can hardly wait until they open the new location in Brentwood, TN. As an added observation on my part, people are becoming more aware of issues when making purchases at big box grocery stores. If you have recently discovered the health benefits of fresh milled flour, and/or the benefits of getting fresh fruits and vegetables and other items provided by farmers and such, you should visit this store and let the folks there help guide you in the right direction. Also, let them explain how their cooperative works and benefits the farmers as well as the consumers. This place really makes a difference.

Love the idea of the storehouse!! The first time we went it was delicious! Went again yesterday…read moreand was totally disappointed. The ladies in the cafe were rude, and I know that they cook to order, but the wait time was ridiculously long, there was only one other table ahead of us. By the time the food came we had already consumed our drinks. To spend over $30 for 2 people for breakfast is ridiculous and then have poor service is worse! The beef sausage was tasteless, similar to a dry overcooked hamburger. The atmosphere is quaint but I doubt we'll go back.
