I'm going to still recommend their food because when you get the right stuff you ordered, it's usually good. However, for our Thanksgiving meal that we had early due to work, we ordered brisket and pulled pork as the meats in the family meal. They never opened the big containers of the meats for me to see if we got the correct items. I was able to see brisket in the top container and pork was verbally repeated back to me however they were reading off of the receipt. Well we got the brisket but not pulled pork. Instead we got super dried out chicken. It was too late to go back because they closed at 8. We had spent the previous 2 nights trying to finish off rotisserie chicken from Costco so the last thing we wanted was more chicken. It was so dry that I had trouble swallowing it. I sent a message and all I got back 2 weeks later was an email asking me to call and discuss the situation. This was after I sent a reply that I still had not heard back from anyone as of 12/7. No offer to refund or to make it right. I'm not going to call and discuss what I already clearly sent in an email and waste even more of my time with zero effort to make it right. I could have purchased 4 more rotisserie chickens for the cost of the container from here and been happier with it. read more

We split a turkey xxl combo with fries, coleslaw and it comes with cornbread. We also brought in our refillable honors flight cups for sweet tea. The turkey was moist and delicious. The refills are .99. The coleslaw was creamy and crispy good. The fries were tasty and fresh! The cornbread was really soft and moist! The sweet tea was good. First off, these people are AMAZING! They were super quick to get back to me via email or if i left them a voicemail. Very friendly and welcoming. They did a fantastic job catering my wedding! The smoked sausage was lack-luster, the spare ribs were not good (I won't order again), but the brisket was tasty! Fortunately and unfortunately where Mission really shined was their sides; they were delicious. That's something you don't see everyday. My son and I stopped in after a baseball game with an appetite and no expectations. Unfortunately, they didn't have the the special juicy Lucy burger as advertised, so he went with the pulled pork. He said it was too dry and none of their sauces were appealing, so he slathered it in ketchup and moved on. Ordering the meal, it came with a handful of fries and we added on the Mac and cheese. I ordered the half yard bird, which was okay. Since it was the end of the night, the chicken was a bit dry. My family loves Mission BBQ back home and decided to visit the Peoria location while on vacation and introduce our extended family to the newest store. The service and food was excellent. We ordered brisket, pulled chicken and pulled pork. We like the fresh cut fries and Mac-n- cheese as sides. Our favorite sauce is Texas Twang but they have six sauces to choose from. I just had the best experience at Peoria Mission BBQ. As we walked in we were met by the friendliest cashier. When we told her that this was our first time she was so excited to brake down every item on the menu to explain everything for us. We sat down waiting for our friend to arrive another amazing worker came over and gave us samples of this delicious brownie. Her name was BillieJo whose the Dining Room Leader she was such a delight. She gave us a handful of samples because we were struggling on deciding what we wanted. She came and check on us while we were eating and even got us this exceptional Alabama White Sauce that was by far my favorite. The South Carolina Zing, Tupelo Honey Heat, and the Memphis Belle we're our tables favorite sauces. I got Baby Back Ribs that were fall off the bone exceptional, my fiancé got the turkey that he loved. Our friend got the brisket that has sauce already on it along with the pulled pork that he really enjoyed. At the end BillieJo brought us banana pudding on the house for being first timers. She left us a sweet note as well. We absolutely will be back not only because of BillieJo but also because of the delightful food. I think I expected too much from Mission BBQ. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a carryout order. Every worker I interacted with was friendly. The actual food, though, was simply OK. To my mind, if BBQ ribs fall apart, they're overcooked. Ribs should not turn into pulled pork. I'm glad that the sauce comes on the side because the sauce (something called Memphis Belle) was not good, and the fries were greasy. I didn't get to try the other side I ordered, because once I got home, I discovered it had not been included in the bag. To my mind, the price was a bit stiff. My five-rib dinner with two sides and a soft drink was over $20.00. On my next trip for ribs, I'll be headed to the Smo-King Pit. They never let me down. read more

I had a brisket sandwich, Mac n cheese, baked beans, and drink and cost over $14. The amount of food I got for that price left me satisfied but not full. The sauces offered at the table were disappointing. I was looking forward to trying the different options but could not find one I enjoyed. I am not a picky eater, but they were all lacking flavor. A friend and I recently went to the Mission BBQ in Peoria for the first time. I was immediately impressed by the young lady taking orders, who offered to walk us through the menu and our ordering options. The entire staff was friendly and created a warm, inviting atmosphere. The food was very good. I ordered the Two-Meat Sampler choosing BBQ Pulled Pork and Brisket with fries and cornbread. The meat was tender and tasty. The choice of various BBQ sauces on the table was fun and I found one I particularly liked. The fries were crispy and hot. The cornbread was sweet and not too dry. My dinner companion ordered the Pulled Chicken Sandwich and fries. He said his meal was very good. It's wonderful to have great food and what really made our visit outstanding was the staff. Elizabeth, one of the managers, overheard me saying I was going to give them a great review and she came back with complimentary Blackberry Cobbler for each of us to thank us for giving Mission BBQ a try. She chatted with us for a bit and told us that many of their customers are military or former military. At that point I started noticing the decor included military badges and photos.
