This library has a convenient drop-off point for expired household batteries, so I went there to throw it all away (~25 batteries!). It's located where the copy machine is. The library is tucked away in the back of Rivermark Plaza..... close to Safeway. The library has a dedicated parking lot that's on the smaller side and tends to fill up quickly because of the adjacent park and businesses nearby.

I really appreciate that most people here tend to respect the fact that libraries are meant to be quiet. The third floor study room is really nice and boasts an amazing view of the campus. Parking is free on weekends and street parking is available as well! They also offer free 2 hour visitor parking permits (any time after 8 PM is free), and anyone is able to access the library without needing a student ID card prior to 7 PM. Additionally, the Sunstream Cafe is usually open and has a variety of caffeinated beverages & snacks available for purchase. This library is a gem and I love that it closes on the later side.

My son ran to see the fishes and explore which made me very happy because normally he is very shy about new places. He had his therapy here and he had so much fun! There were a decent amount of switch games available to rent and their DVD collection is amazing with new releases. The male librarian is very helpful when I want to ask him on how to make a copy. The female old librarian is gossiping about Asian people and making fun at them. The young teenager is making fun at the Asian populations. Other people are gossiping about other person's life after 4pm. In general, the quality of the people who come to this library are better during the morning , but the quality of the people are getting worse as the day goes by, especially during the evening hours.

I was shocked when they had a few new book releases that were still on the shelf and not checked out. As for movies and shows, they have a huge selection of media. There were a few movies I was specifically looking for but all of the copies are on hold. Most notably, I was shocked how expansive their games selection is. They had a massive offering of Xbox, PS4/PS5 and Switch games. Everything here was clean, staff was nice and it was poppin' on a Saturday. Thankfully they have a parking garage and we had to park on the third floor just because of how busy it is. Support your public libraries!!

The library is relatively new with several little rooms for meet ups etc. and a larger auditorium where they have book sales and classes/lectures. There's also a way to get discount tickets through the library, but I have never done it myself (I think you need to check in the first of the month or something). The library is clean and well kept, and the books have been in relatively good condition. The DVDs are often damaged, but I haven't found any circulation of DVDs that isn't like that. Library also has eBooks and the ability to place holds via the website or app. Holds are picked up to the left of the parking structure entrance in the first set of shelves on the left as you walk past the self checkout kiosks.

No more mentally disturbed/homeless people on site. It's surprisingly busy on the weekends, especially back-to-school season. I love how they have a quiet area with a fireplace, cushy seats, and sunshine shining through the windows facing the park. No talking in this area. The children and teens' section is conveniently located downstairs, which is an ideal location since they tend to talk loudly. Study/meeting rooms are spacious upstairs, but must be reserved ahead of time. Also, the restrooms are clean on both floors. Love the sculpture near the entrance. I can't believe it took me ages to discover this library after walking around Downtown Mountain View for the past two years. There's a parking garage available on the side of the library including street parking. Nice to walk around after dining in nearby restaurants and worth coming back to chill and read.

Martin Luther King Jr. Library is one of the largest libraries I've been to. There are a total of 9…read morefloors and the top floors tend to be areas where you have to be quiet or silent. It's probably for those who don't want to be distracted by noise. Not sure if this is why the escalator didn't take me to those floors. It's a nice and relaxing place to go to. They even have a dvds, blu-ray, and other media sections from the first floor as well as the children's library room I believe. It can be quite challenging to navigate because there are too many floors and if you want to select books based on genre, you may need to go floor by floor. Inside the elevator, if you look at the top, you'll see text of multiple sections from each floor. Anyways, I think it's a good place for students to study here even though that I rarely go there to study during my time as a student.

The older ladies at the front are not very personable, they are actually very rude. Told me she would still help me but continued to say they were closed. I dreaded coming in today to borrow a book but needed to. I woke so don't always have the time to go when things are open at the school. I walked in and the ladies who where talking to each other at the front rudely stated telling me the young lady would help. She was very helpful. I told them I didn't have a student ID (I work and it's always closed when I try and get one) said I couldn't check out the book. They said it's a one life time of checking out a book without a student id. Told them I thought it was once per academic year. They proceeded to laugh at me. I walked out as they told me I should come back during their hours to get an ID. Honestly must be nice to be able to tell someone that and not consider they have a job that might not allow that flexibility.

The Librarians seem tense so make sure to treat them well, use your manors and pay your fines. They must be alittle tense from all the people they see. They are smart people because to become a Librarian you need a degree. What I like about this Library is their hours. It is the earliest library in the area. So for people like me it makes my life easier. Haven't been their in awhile though.

Did you know that Campbell Library offers mobile printing? You just access the link for Mobile…read moreprinting on their website. Then, type your Library card number and PIN & upload your files or images. There are two print kiosks, one on the second floor just outside the children's area and there's one down below. I think it's half the cost. I paid only $.10 for two black-and-white copies (it's odd because I looked on their website after it says $.15 a copy so not sure if there's a glitch.) It was super easy to use too. Once I arrived I just walked over to the kiosk and typed in my library card number and PIN & viola. (Their printing is also wayyy more user friendly compared to San Jose Public Library.) There's an option if you don't have a library card (you'll need to go in person and someone will help you navigate it.) And of course you can make copies as well as an FYI anyone can get a library card with a valid photo ID, even if you're out of state. Also, as everyone likes to complain, parking has & continues to be a nightmare, that has never changed lol. I don't know why anyone is surprised? Just park on any of the side streets.

Renovations are finished and the Campbell Library has finally reopened!…read more This library has been totally renovated and reopened in May 2026z huge windows, natural light and a feeling of openness abounds. If you have kids, please note that the Children's section is separate from the rest of the library. It is a huge room behind glass doors. It looks quite nice. If I was still a kid, I would have loved to explore this area. The main adult section is downstairs and easy to navigate. I like the Overlook area's comfy chairs and large windows. Kudos to the city of Campbell and all the many sponsors and donors for making this renovated library a reality.
