It is difficult to report as an official complaint as you know certain people are making you uncomfortable and yet the subtle negative behaviors or mocking mimicry or surrounding drama will not be taken seriously by any authority. However I want to report through Yelp, since if this can happen to me, it can happen to anybody and we need to speak up to stop such nonsense in public places that are supposed to be safe for everyone. The 3 star rating is for the vast collection of books and polite customer service by the library staff.

This library has a convenient drop-off point for expired household batteries, so I went there to throw it all away (~25 batteries!). It's located where the copy machine is. The library is tucked away in the back of Rivermark Plaza..... close to Safeway. The library has a dedicated parking lot that's on the smaller side and tends to fill up quickly because of the adjacent park and businesses nearby.

It has friendly staff, weekly activities, print and copy area and self check out options. Its open 6 days a week with longer evening hours (till 7 pm) on tue and thu and shorter on sat (till 4 pm)

I really appreciate that most people here tend to respect the fact that libraries are meant to be quiet. The third floor study room is really nice and boasts an amazing view of the campus. Parking is free on weekends and street parking is available as well! They also offer free 2 hour visitor parking permits (any time after 8 PM is free), and anyone is able to access the library without needing a student ID card prior to 7 PM. Additionally, the Sunstream Cafe is usually open and has a variety of caffeinated beverages & snacks available for purchase. This library is a gem and I love that it closes on the later side.

My son ran to see the fishes and explore which made me very happy because normally he is very shy about new places. He had his therapy here and he had so much fun! I'll be coming back here and have my son play with all the other kids during summer. I also love the calendar they have for the months and activities planned.

The male librarian is very helpful when I want to ask him on how to make a copy. The female old librarian is gossiping about Asian people and making fun at them. The young teenager is making fun at the Asian populations. Other people are gossiping about other person's life after 4pm. In general, the quality of the people who come to this library are better during the morning , but the quality of the people are getting worse as the day goes by, especially during the evening hours.

I met a client here, someone who lives in Milpitas and who reserved one of those private study rooms for us, the ones that most newer libraries have, which is a great thing for private meetings, study rooms, etc. They have several here. This central location makes it pretty convenient for most families and visitors, the large parking garage really encourages you to visit without waiting for parking. Visit you local public library!

A perfect low key Saturday is going to the farmers market in Santa Clara and then doing a short walk here. My kid loves coming here to play, read, and check out books. A quiet two-story library tucked behind Mountain View City Hall, with a public park. It's more…read morebeautiful than East Bay libraries I've ever been in. No more mentally disturbed/homeless people on site. It's surprisingly busy on the weekends, especially back-to-school season. I love how they have a quiet area with a fireplace, cushy seats, and sunshine shining through the windows facing the park. No talking in this area. The children and teens' section is conveniently located downstairs, which is an ideal location since they tend to talk loudly. Study/meeting rooms are spacious upstairs, but must be reserved ahead of time. Also, the restrooms are clean on both floors. Love the sculpture near the entrance. I can't believe it took me ages to discover this library after walking around Downtown Mountain View for the past two years. There's a parking garage available on the side of the library including street parking. Nice to walk around after dining in nearby restaurants and worth coming back to chill and read.

It's "OK" so far…read more.. I have been spending my own time at the library every day, because it is the closest library to commute to. I have plenty of work and I appreciate the quiet environment. Sometimes the librarians are perfectly polite and don't say anything weird, like attempt to spread false rumors about a civilian who has every right to be at the library-- or worse, attempt to ADvertise HeR to strangers (a very clear hello!). Sometimes they are a bit creepy, and it makes me wonder what they REALLY do for work. I am REALLY trying not to make assumptions... but a woman has to watch out for her own safety. There are a few staff who seem to be more mindful and considerate of such. A charger for my mobile phone that I ordered will arrive soon, so there will be no need to interact with them on a daily basis (to borrow the library's). I usually don't pay much attention to others at the library, but I notice that there are students and adults working from their laptops or completing class work. I just do my best to be aware of my surroundings, so that I don't end up sitting near creeps and stalkers. The traffic is quite questionable at times, although much of it has died down (thankfully). It seems that some people walk around the library looking for SOMETHING or SOMETHING TO STARE AT. Such traffic are very uncomfortable to be around-- I thought this was a library, not a zoo or a MARKETPLACE. So I just find a quiet desk to sit at, and concentrate on my work. I have borrowed and read a few books from the library, too. They have a fairly standard selection of a stereotypical American library in 2025 (the YA section is downstairs, whereas ADULT sections are UPSTAIRS). I appreciate the books they carry in the Computer Science section, as I am becoming more Computer Science literate these days (learning how to code, researching and using Artificial Intelligence, etc.).

It's probably for those who don't want to be distracted by noise. Not sure if this is why the escalator didn't take me to those floors. It's a nice and relaxing place to go to. They even have a dvds, blu-ray, and other media sections from the first floor as well as the children's library room I believe. It can be quite challenging to navigate because there are too many floors and if you want to select books based on genre, you may need to go floor by floor. Inside the elevator, if you look at the top, you'll see text of multiple sections from each floor. Anyways, I think it's a good place for students to study here even though that I rarely go there to study during my time as a student.

Then, type your Library card number and PIN & upload your files or images. There are two print kiosks, one on the second floor just outside the children's area and there's one down below. I think it's half the cost. I paid only $.10 for two black-and-white copies (it's odd because I looked on their website after it says $.15 a copy so not sure if there's a glitch.) It was super easy to use too. Once I arrived I just walked over to the kiosk and typed in my library card number and PIN & viola. (Their printing is also wayyy more user friendly compared to San Jose Public Library.) There's an option if you don't have a library card (you'll need to go in person and someone will help you navigate it.) And of course you can make copies as well as an FYI anyone can get a library card with a valid photo ID, even if you're out of state. Also, as everyone likes to complain, parking has & continues to be a nightmare, that has never changed lol. I don't know why anyone is surprised? Just park on any of the side streets.

Renovations are finished and the Campbell Library has finally reopened!…read more This library has been totally renovated and reopened in May 2026z huge windows, natural light and a feeling of openness abounds. If you have kids, please note that the Children's section is separate from the rest of the library. It is a huge room behind glass doors. It looks quite nice. If I was still a kid, I would have loved to explore this area. The main adult section is downstairs and easy to navigate. I like the Overlook area's comfy chairs and large windows. Kudos to the city of Campbell and all the many sponsors and donors for making this renovated library a reality.
