They are uninformative about insurance increases, taxes included and mishandled my insurance premium costing me an extra 376 a month by dou me paying a premium with no info for the hike. Piece of mind. I had a great experience with Mission Mortgage. Raul Castaneda was my primary POC; he was very knowledgeable and responsive to all of my questions/inquiries. Specifically, he helped me through a refinance process. I shopped around to make sure I was getting a good rate with reasonable fees. Raul was not bothered by the fact that I wanted to shop around (IMO, a very good sign). He remained patient and objective when I compared Mission Mortgages' fees with others/competitors. It's a tough industry, and if you lack experience/knowledge, could be a bit stressful. Mission mortgage, and Raul specifically, helped me to make sure I understood the terms of my transaction. I did not have a good experience with Mission Mortgage Company and Mari Herrera. I have sent all my information to her for cross qualification and after attempting to contact her via txt, email, call she still did not get back. I was not able to get a quote from them and that shows a lot about their work. I would look to get a loan from another mortgage company, because Mission Mortgage is extremely bad at getting back to people and responding back. read more

I would 100% not recommend this company to get your loan from. It was quite a traumatic experience for myself and my family. Vanessa Guevara was the senior loan officer in this experience. Trying to get an update, an email response, a call back, etc. was almost non-existent. She would send one email a day right before she left for the day so she wouldn't be there if you had a follow up questions...or at least it felt that way. There was an issue of our buyer's separated wife having to sign a marital rights waiver. About 3 days before the close we were told of this "contingency" but not specifics. We were just told that a SSA-89 form needed to be signed still. We thought it was the buyer who needed to sign it and not the estranged wife. The buyer's estranged wife would not sign this SSA-89 form. This issue is that this was not addressed from the beginning and was towards the end. This meant the wife had all the power of our sale going through in her hands....and she knew it. We ended getting caught up in "divorce court" and being collateral damage while Vanessa and co-owner Eddie ran negotiations. The whole time we were kept in the dark and could not get answers without pressing Vanessa probably 50 times a day for some kind of update...even if the update was to say that there wasn't an update. We just wanted to know they were actively working on it. So Monday rolls around and our moving company shows up to pack our stuff. We were told "she's going to sign and there's nothing to worry about." Towards the end of the movers having everything packed up; my realtor calls me to tell me that she did not sign. Now all my house possessions are on a moving truck and are being driven across the country. Our new home was contingent on the sale of our house we were selling. The funds of the move ($10,000+) were supposed to come from the sale of our house. So now.....imagine driving across the US...with no sale of your house, no new house to move in to, and having to pay the movers out of pocket. Did I mention that we quit our jobs to make this happen...so yeah...unemployed on top of that. If we would have known this situation before, we could have told the movers to schedule a different day. If they couldn't deliver the stuff to the address we provided...then it was $6000 A MONTH to store it! But even with Vanessa knowing that we were moving, she still did not provide details of how serious this was and didn't even think to mention beforehand that maybe we should see if the movers can come a different day until this got settled. All because we were kept in the dark about this guys estranged wife and her not signing this one form. It could have all been avoided if it were taken care of in the beginning. It affected more than just my family. The ripple effect was huge on this. I've never written a review like this in my 40 years on this planet if that says something about how bad this experience was. If I had to summarize this lender into some one word answers, they would be: Inept Incompetent Careless Irresponsible Unprofessional Negligent Unethical Maybe you'll have a better experience from them than us....maybe worse? We ended up canceling that sale and taking on a new buyer who used Real Estate and Lending Solutions, Inc. (Real Inc.). It was a literal night and day difference with this company. Just beware. We felt like we were a nuisance and that we weren't important. We suffered a sizable financial hit, extreme anxiety, had to take out a new loan at 8.625% on our new house instead is having it paid off, and stay in a rental for a month until all this crap got situated. I would really like to sue this lender and will actively look into it after everything settles down. We probably won't win, but I will not have to pay for attorney fees out of pocket. If anything, this lender will have to do that so sticking it to them that way with attorney retainer fees and court costs is worth it to me. I feel like I need to get even for the crap they put us through. If it means hurting their bank account and trying to bankrupt them then so be it. I want my retribution and want them to feel the pain they put my family though. read more

I'm very disappointed with Art Garcia. I wouldn't even rate Art at one star. We were trying to obtain a loan which ended up taking several months. He never kept us up to date or followed up. We had to meet on three different occasions because he had me complete/sign the paperwork incorrectly so it needed to be redone over and over. Mission Mortgage is the absolute best. First time I bought my home it was with a regular broker and that broker could not close on my home and had Mission Mortgage help me out. Shawn Mess my broker who was not even getting paid got my loan to close within 30 days. That was after the initial 120 days my first broker could not close. I closed in February 2020z. Then covid occurred and lost my job. Getting back on my feet I decided to give Shawn and his company my business. We were almost ready to close on a low rate and mishap occurred on my part. I broke my finger. But what happened. Shawn didn't just say "ah next person" he truly cares. He kept checking on me so he can start back up and get me the lowest rate possible. Lower than my original purchase. Not even a month into my refi and he made it happen again. Customer service that is what it is all about.
