While dropping off a colleagues kid at the academy. I stumbled across this jewel! Super cool slides, balance beam, rock climbing & more! My 3 year old loved it. She got tired & took a rest In the sand area filled with twigs & branches to play with. Super CLEAN park with an inviting ambiance. I'll be bringing my "For Fatherhood" group here asap. I also like the fact the all the landing areas are SOFT, no random wood pieces or concrete. We'll be back. Thanks Camarillo.

Great park with a lot of stuff to climb. Mostly good for 5-7 years and above. There is a baby swing though and a sand box. A lot of cool things you wouldn't see at other park. Directly behind a school. Lots of grass. Anyways. I recommend.

It's also near a park so when my bro took lessons I just played at the park. The "clubhouse" isn't really what you expect, heck it's oxnard! It's not those rich, pretentious places. The place has good business with nice customers, who care about the place and bring great tennis. Mark always cared about the clients and always had the latest information on racquets. recently I came in on a Sunday to watch my son's League play to find another coach in charge. He instructed the boy at the front desk to wash courts, and the boy responded that he had jeans/close toed shoes on and wasn't dressed for washing courts because he wasn't told in advance that he'd be washing courts. The coach responded, "just roll up your jeans and go barefoot." The coach later instructed another girl to help him, and she replied that she wasn't dressed for it either and didn't have sandals, and that "sometimes there's glass on court." The man dismissed her comment with a sarcastic response and complained about her coworker to her: "he doesn't want to wash courts because he's not dressed for it. can you believe it? All you have to do is go barefoot and roll up his jeans." The courts should be washed more often than OTC does in my opinion, but I believe it's a serious liability for both the company and the employees. I couldn't believe the manager's sarcastic response.......... He didn't care about the safety of his employees!!! And what kind of manager gossips about other employees to others? So unprofessional. It was WAY better when Mark was running the place. If you come to OTC watch out. They should really treat their employees better. I don't know how they can take care of their customers if they don't care about their employees just as well.

I like that there is some shade up by the park. The dog park isn't for me but I appreciate the layout of it with both the small dog section and the big dog section. It's not so much the park, it's the dog owners which made me take a break from this spot. Like other reviews said some people just aren't mindful dog owners and why they take their dogs to the park is beyond me. My dog is shy and attached to my hip so he didn't love the dog park to begin with. When I'd come here to this specific dog park there were enough instances of aggressive little dogs attacking other dogs that I kind of just became over this place. If I felt my dog was safe here I'd try to bring him more but with the little aggressive dogs & his disinterest we haven't been back for a long time. Some of my friends have said good things about this dog park so I'm sure it just depends on the day and which set of doggies you come across. My more updated review is for the pickleball courts. Came today and I enjoyed these courts. They are nicely painted and clean. My only upgrade is I wish they had more squares. Only two pickleball courts so if it's a busy day you'll definitely need to wait. However today wasn't too bad and we got to play a lot. Met a lot of nice fellow players and overall it was a good day. I like that the parking spots are close to the courts. Easy. A nice place to play as long as it isn't busy, wish they had more courts but I just doesn't seem like they have the room. I'll definitely be back though.

You probably already knew that Pickleball is America's Fastest Growing Sport…read more I mean, doesn't it seem like everyone you know plays Pickleball these days? It's damn near ubiquitous. Even the E-Trade Baby plays Pickleball. It's like you can't go 24 hours without hearing someone yammering on about Pickleball. Pickleball pickleball pickleball. You're thinking, if everyone doesn't shut the hell up about Pickleball I swear I'm gonna punch someone! But they never shut up. And of course, as good as it might feel, you can't just go around punching people. So, you need to find a way to channel that aggression in a positive way. If you feel you need to whack the hell out of something, Pickleball might just be the activity you are looking for. Strange that Pickleball might be both the cause of and solution for your frustration. Of course there's much more to the game than just whacking a ball with a paddle, but the whacking part is so satisfying. A great way to let off a little steam. Ventura Parks and Recreation offers Introduction to Pickleball classes here at Juanamaria Park. Currently there are Level 1 Introductory classes on Monday nights from 6:30-7:30 pm, and on Tuesdays from 9 to 10 am. And there is a Level 2 Introductory class on Thursday mornings from 9-10. The classes run for four weeks at a time, and cost $100 for the four lessons. Legend has it that Tennis was played here at Juanamaria Park back in the olden days. You can still see the lines here that define a tennis court, but I've never seen anyone actually playing tennis. From the size of their huge ass courts, I'm guessing tennis players must've been about 8 or 10 feet tall. Just in case any Jurassic era Tennis players show up, there are signs posted to keep them away from Pickleball players. The division of court time seems equitable, but one wonders why time is blocked out for a game that's not even played anymore. And you know, there's more to Juanamaria Park than just Pickleball and Tennis. There is also a Basketball Court, for example. And there is a huge grass covered field just waiting for someone with a frisbee to show up. Plus they have those cool charcoal grills. Bring some briquettes and something to grill and you could put together a real good time here. There are bathrooms too, but I've never checked them out. I have no idea when they are open or how clean they are. But if I had to guess, I'd say they're pretty well maintained. The whole park seems very well-maintained. Juanamaria Park is where I learned to play Pickleball. It's a great little neighborhood park. I give it my wholehearted recommendation. Mikey C says: Zero Zero Two

The best part is the Drill and Play is with Coach Meredith. She's a truly excellent coach. It's a small session, limited to 12 players. You have to sign up through the AGAPE website. These Drill and Play sessions are set up so higher skilled players play one week, lower skilled players the next. The first hour every session is spent practicing a specific skill. Coach Meredith is a gifted teacher. She always breaks down the skill into bite sized chunks so it's easier to master. Like, for example, first practicing just the footwork itself, no ball or paddle. Then adding them on one at a time. After allowing adequate time to individually practice whatever skill is being taught, we play games the rest of the first hour without keeping score. Not worrying about the score gives one the opportunity to practice skills not yet fully mastered. The second hour is regular play. Coach Meredith circulates continuously, pumping everyone up with her positive energy and emphatic vocal encouragement, all the while providing further insight and/or instruction where necessary. This is a really beautiful park and wonderful place to play pickleball. Someone mentioned that the courts were recently resurfaced. Nice! Mikey C says: did I mention the adequate parking? Pitts Ranch Park has it!
