Alex did two great things for me... First he replaced the…read morebattery in my Iron Man Triathlon watch and since I've had it back, it does NOT LEAK -- even in the shower and pool! This might sound like a small thing but in the past I've used three different jewelry stores and they could never seem to get the sealing gasket back in right. (I even had one of them accuse me of bringing them a watch that had already been leaking so therefore I couldn't prove they were at fault.) Second, I had an old-school, "gold nugget" watch that had been sitting in my dresser for 25 years. It had been bequeathed to me and it wouldn't fit because the band was too small. I had also taken this watch to several jewelers over the years to see if they could get a clasp extension for the back. Each of them said it was not possible. However, I showed it too Alex and he tried 17 different clasps and had several watch companies send him things to try. He finally found clasp and it literally fits my wrist PERFECTLY. It's really a cool old watch and I'm so grateful for his persistence to make it wearable again!

I left without getting my watch repaired. I felt bad for the guy he was yelling at. I don't think business owners represent the city well when they're outside their business screaming at people on the street. The guy that owns this place seems to do okay work, so I was told he might be able to fix my dad's watch. But I'm not going to any business that treats people that way.

It's over in the strip center with a big Hy-Vee off 79th and State Line, so very accessible for many. I dropped in and chatted with the clerk who was really friendly, and they told me they're working about two weeks turnaround at the moment. That was totally fine and expected, so I dropped it off, they gave me a slip of paper and took some details, and off I went. Got a call a few weeks later that it was ready, and they had it looking shiny, polished, and most-importantly, soldered together seamlessly. Out the door price was just under $50 which feels quite fair. The friendly, professional service, and quality of work they did has me ready to easily recommend this place if you've got jewelry to buy or repair.

I took a watch in to get a battery replaced, after about 15 minutes, they let me know they couldn't get the back off the watch, and in a sassy way they asked who had replaced the battery previously? Once I replied with it was here; you replaced the battery this time last year. Once they found out it was them and they couldn't blame them selves, so they just simply handed me back the watch and refereed me to another local jeweler. All of this would of been just find with me but as I looked at the back of the watch they put gasses in the metal, and ruined the back of the watch. The watch is an inexpensive Invicta, and to be honest if they would of at least just pointed out what had happened as they were trying to get the back off the watch and just apologized, it would of made all the difference in the world. I will never go there again and will always recommend anyone I know to go else where as well.

On the date they said they would be ready, I went in to collect my jewelry. Well, they weren't ready and said it would be at least 2 1/5 to 3 weeks at a minimum. I went back in again. They still weren't ready. That brings us to today. I went in again the day after they said my necklaces would be done yet a third time, and here is the exceptionally rude exchange: Me: Hi Him: Can I help you? Me: Yes, I'd like to pick up my earrings, and they look like this. (I pulled out an earring that looked like the ones I dropped off) Him: I know what they look like. I saw them in the back room. He calls to his partner, "(partner's name) can you bring up her earrings? Apparently we haven't gotten them done for her fast enough." Partner goes to the back to look for earrings. Me: while I'm here I want to go ahead and pick up my necklaces too. Him: after all the work I've done on them? I wasn't going to charge you anything because we were late getting them to you. Me: I'm happy to pay you for whatever work you've done on them. Him: No, just don't ever bring your junk jewelry in here again. If anything happens to them or the beads get lost they're your responsibility. Me: I realize that Him: Just don't bring your junk jewelry in here again. Me: Don't worry I won't! Him: I knew that the first time you walked in here. Me: No you didn't. I've been in here at least 3 times Partner: I can''t find them. Him: Come to the front and I'll go look for them Him: comes back to the front and waits on about 5 other people. Him: Here's your junk earrings. And I need you to sign this receipt Me: Ok. Me: I signed the earring receipt and my own receipt for the necklaces ( the one that he gave me 3 weeks ago). I gave the earring receipt to him and started to tear off the top yellow receipt with my signature for the necklaces. Him: GRABS MY HAND, FORCES IT OPEN and grabs both the yellow receipt and the picture of my necklaces that was attached. Remember, this was my receipt that he gave me! I was going above and beyond by signing one of my copies. Him: This is my receipt! Me: OMG! You're weird! Him: These are pictures of your necklaces Me: I know. You have my signature! (referring to the yellow receipt) Me: You're weird! Him: Thank you! That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. Me: I'll bet! Me: I walk out the door
