I first started doing business with them when I was in my 20's either selling gold, coins ect. I'm now 47 and still going there and would recommend anyone looking to do business with a pawn shop to come here. People don't take into consideration that this is a business and you cant expect to sell something to someone and expect to get even close to what you may have paid for the item brand new, all I'm saying is this is a good place to do business, from the first time I walked in there i was treated nice and still get great service today in 2024. I've probably been in there 4-5 times over the past three months, and the reaction is the same when you walk in: apathy. They even failed to return my call and I was planning on making a four-digit purchase from them. They list items on their website, but when you go in, they tell you they sold it and then try to upsell you. Someone else in their review mentions a "strange vibe" in this store--couldn't be more spot on. They somehow stay in business in spite of themselves. read more

I have been in this place twice. The first time I was in I was looking at an amethyst ring surrounded by diamonds. Price tag said $800 something. I thought, wow that's pretty inexpensive considering all these diamonds. Long story short, the price was wrong, the ring was tagged as having a half a carat of diamonds instead of the actual one and a half carats. They offered to sell me the ring at the price on the tag but I didn't buy it. The second time was for a watch battery. I was looking around while I waited and no one seemed interested in showing me anything in the cases. I guess they aren't there to make money. I won't go back. read more

went there today to see about selling a rare 20 dollar gold coin worth about 1600 to 2000 dollars. Sales rep (really short guy with black hair) Before he even looked at it, he told me how I'm losing money everyday. (I guess that's a sales technique to make me really want to sell it now), but instead made me think 2 things, first of all, what an idiot. 2nd was lack of trust for him and this business. In hindsight I wish I would of left right there. This is why I recommend to you if you get the same feeling, go with your gut, and get the heck out of there. I am not a coin dealer or seller so with no real experience I decided to see if I could get some information from him. I was standing at the counter and he was behind the glass counter, He took my coin in a back room (without asking me) to look at some coin sheets to get a price. I would of preferred he bring the coin sheet to the counter or at least in my eye sight. Even though my guard was up with his first comment, my lack of experience with how gold coin dealers work, left me with that feeling of should I yell at him to come back up here with my coin and make a scene or just keep cool. I'm not one to make a scene. He came back 5 minutes later and gave me a price that was less than one of those dreaded "we buy gold" shops. The offer he made was less than the amount of the gold if it was melted down. This was a St gaudens gold coin that is rare and worth at least a little more than the price of gold. Although I hate those "we buy gold" shops because they make neighborhoods look cheap, at least they are up front and don't give a feel like I'm gonna be scammed like precious metals and gems makes me feel. word of advice if you are wanting to sell coins to these guys. Keep your guard up, speak up if they take your coins in the back room without asking you. go with your gut and get the heck out of this shop. Although I don't think so, I had a scared feeling all the way home wondering if he switched my coin in the back room. Because the offer was so low. It seemed so quick like I just been had. This business must be in trouble, b/c the used to be somewhat honest. They've tried to cheat me the last few times I"ve been in there. Thought it was a certain employee, but apparently not. After telling them they were offering about 40% the value of my gold.....the lies started to pour fourth.....he weighed my 7grams at 5.9 and then tried to tell me there's 31.something grams in an ounce, when everyone knows it's 28.8. He tried to use these parameters to make the profit on his end look smaller, which did push what he'd pay to 50%. Once a business starts using tactics like this to survive -- they deserve to go under. In my desperation, I took the money anyway....and yeah, I'm bitter about it. They will lie everytime about: weight of what you have, try to tell you he'll lose product in smelt (everyone does, he's not special and market prices reflect that , not my prob) , they'll lie about how much is an ounce, and lie about the market price of gold that day, then use these figures to show you "his" profit......it's all a ruse. read more
