Every time I have been here the doctor rushes you out of there and does not want to listen. Dr klutke refuses to consider any input other than his opinion. They won't actually diagnose or test for anything just guess and throw medication at you. Spent maybe 5 minutes tops with me each time and this time. Great quality care. Front desk staff were so efficient and kind. Physician and nurse also but very attentive.

I have had no issues with the practitioners, but some management and logistical improvements are definitely needed. Because of my issue with frequent urination, I was scheduled for urodynamics testing and was told to arrive with a full bladder. I drove 35 minutes with a full bladder and was then kept waiting for more than 30 minutes until I went back to the desk and told them that I was going to go to the bathroom and empty my bladder if they didn't take me in within 5 minutes. On a previous visit for an examination, I was kept waiting for an hour and 15 minutes and wasn't called in until I went to the desk and complained. When I asked the nurse who came to get me what was going on, his answer was "I forgot." The quality of service has declined since HCA purchased the Mission system. read more

Mission Oncology is an astounding practice. Dr Sech implanted my penile prosthesis a couple of years ago. One of the best decisions of my life. The surgery at Mission went well as did my recovery. I can't say enough about the prosthesis. It's so natural in every way which is something I didn't expect. Its definitely made a real improvement to my life. I had almost given up. I highly recommend Dr. Sech. It was good to find a qualified surgeon in Asheville who performed the procedure. One of the best doctors I've had. I highly recommend Dr. Sech and very highly recommend the penile prosthesis. read more

First of all, if you are unfortunate enough to have to visit this office, do yourself a favor and bring with you and air-freshener or a facemask because you are immediately overwhelmed by the SMELL of URINE upon arrival. I had a difficult time choosing a seat in the waiting room because there were so many urine stains on the carpet and on the chairs. But if you didn't bring something to mask the smell, don't worry, you'll get used to it after sitting for 30-45 minutes past your appointment time in the waiting room for your practitioner to call you back. I imagine that the smell no longer affects the staff members since they sit in that building all day. At first I thought that was just how a urologists office smells, but after my visit to another doctors office today I realized this place was just unclean and unsanitary. I would have been able to get over the smell had it not been for the frustrating and ridiculous events that occurred during and after my visit.... I saw a nurse practitioner named Lee Anne Boyd. I was experiencing horrible pain in my left kidney. Right away she told me she was new at this office. My appointment with her was extremely rushed and she left me alone in the room for thirty more minutes while attending to another patient. I was having very bad pain in my kidney due to an already diagnosed kidney stone. Before she prescribed me any medications or surgeries, she wanted to order an ultrasound of my organs for her review. Fine. My appointment with her was Thursday morning at 10AM. I left the office around noon and she told me that she was sending the order to Mission Imaging immediately and they will call me that day to schedule the ultrasound. She handed me her business card with the phone number to Mission Urology. Friday morning and still no call about the ultrasound. So I called Mission Imaging and they stated that an ultrasound was not ordered. So I called back Mission Urology, using the card Lee Anne Boyd gave me. I was told that Lee Anne failed to order the ultrasound at all. I was told that she was not in that office and I was unable to speak with her or leave a message. The person I spoke with said they would email her. Friday evening rolls around and still no ultrasound was ordered and Lee Anne was nowhere to be reached. I was still in excruciating pain with no answers and no medicine to help. I was forced to wait all weekend to try calling again Monday. Monday morning I call Mission Urology and yet again, there was zero order sent to Mission Imaging for an ultrasound. At that point, I asked the receptionist if I could come in to the office and see a different practitioner since I was not successful in being treated by Lee Anne. The receptionist put me on a long hold and then somehow managed to get the message to Lee Anne. It wasn't until 3PM Monday that Mission Imaging received a request for my ultrasound and they scheduled me right away. I shouldn't have to hunt down my doctors and make 7 phone calls to ensure that an ultrasound that was supposed to be ordered 4 days ago is done. I have since moved my treatment to Asheville Urology with Dr.Carghill. Their office is CLEAN and doesn't smell or urine. They also preformed an X-Ray of my stomach immediately upon my arrival (no waiting around in pain for 4 days making desperate phone calls) Avoid this place. read more

John Burns MD and staff at Mission Urology were negligient to my client today. My client was there for a screening and then to discuss surgery options. I was there as POA due to memory issues and need to gather the information so my client can make an informed decision on which urologist to use and what surgery option to choose. Despite telling staff I needed to be in the room for this discussion after the exam, staff failed to do this. My client didn't know what was discussed due to memory issues. I requested that the doctor speak with us so we could make an informed decision. The doctor REFUSED to speak with us for 5 minutes so we could get this information. This is negligent and shows how callous some medical providers are, especially since HCA took over as the owners of Mission. Please do yourself a favor and go to Mission Maladies on Facebook and see how HCA, which bought Mission has destroyed this gem of a medical system we had. Good providers are leaving and we are left with negligent providers like Dr. Burn's and his staff. Please look for other care options, like Advent Health Urology or others. read more

Terrible...I saw Dr. Frye and I will not return. She was cold, callous, unprofessional and hurried me along without listening to me. Even after I told her that a medication she wanted to add didn't help in the past; it was still prescribed. When you have a bladder disease, its hard enough going to a new doctor but when they have no bedside manner or care, its awful. I wouldn't recommend this urologist to an enemy let alone anyone I care about. Horribly disappointed. read more

Dr. Cohen's beside manner leaves much to be desired. I required surgery with stent placement for a 7.5mm kidney stone. Not only did he NOT inform my family of my progress after the surgery, he failed to check on me in the PACU, which I have NEVER experienced post-op. I felt very rushed with Dr. Cohen, and that he was indifferent to me as a patient. Absolutely would not recommend him. read more

After some painful kidney stones, this place was the solution. I went to another place and they didn't see the stone on the X-ray or have any compassion for my pain so that led me to get a second opinion. Dr Cohen found it right away on the exact some issue. It was Christmas time, but he did surgery on Christmas Eve - thank god! read more

my experience with Dr. Sech was horrible and i will never return there and don't recommend others. I was referred to him by my primary after being diagnosed with diverticulitis, due to the extreme pain ive been having in my bladder area and urinating. he was immediately dismissive, was rushing through the process, made assumptions that other doctors put it in my head that it was my prostate or kidney (which was never the case nor did i imply it was). He gave me a very quick and aggressive anal exam probing my anus with his fingers hook style in circles. He then dismissed it all as me having a "tight ass" because i was too tight when he checked me. when i complained about why i was tense due to the manner in which he examined and how i have trauma due to being raped as a kid, he gaslighted me and dismissed me and said i just didn't want to believe him. so he prescribed me anal Valium so i could "relax more down there". he then left the room being very loud and vocal to the other staff about his frustration with me. he was dismissive, aggressive in tone and methods, unprofessional and i will never return to this "Dr" again. read more

The issue is not the doctors but with staff. You schedule an appointment and no one tells you to come off your drug before hand . . . or thy forget to take a lab to confirm the need for the drug to the insurance firm. So you are expected to come back again, pay another co-pay and smile about having had your time wasted the first time. Again, the doctor I saw was fine but try to get a return call from someone . . . it can take more than 24 hours. Try to have someone proactively look at a record to see a patient s coming in for an annual and what is required . . . nope. read more

The doctor was nice, but he ordered CT, and Ultrasounds. Thats all fine, but they didn't tell me the tests were going to cost almost $4000. My insurance has a $3000 deductible on top of copays. I was assuming the tests would cost maybe $500 and also assumed if they were going to be expensive they would talk to me first. Now, after its all said and done I'm left with HUGE bills that I have no way of paying. It is unlikely I will ever go here again. Here is another example of the rich getting richer and the poor having to decide between paying a ridiculous bill or buying groceries. Looks like its bread and water for the foreseeable future.
