The review was topped with a one star and left me with a sense of where do I go from here. Today, the sun shines a bit brighter. I had a conversation with the practice administrator. This interaction lead me to gain a better understanding of what may or may not have lead to my frustration. AUA recently underwent a big change. Staff and physicians are attempting to learn the new systems while also trying to provide patient care. Unfortunately, it seems that I was caught up into the perfect storm. The administrator was polite and sincere. I feel my concerns were heard and that things will be moving forward. I'm hopeful that future me will revise the rating to give AUA 5 stars.

All the urologist in Spartanburg are partners in "The Urology Center of Spartanburg." I set an appointment with a Dr. Ellis. It was confirmed by email and text but after receiving Dr. Strehlow's letter, I called to confirm the appointment. I was told that it was cancelled. They were just going to let me show up and be turned away. What Strehlow and Ellis have done to me is illegal but really, it's just plain unethical. Shame on them.

He told me in my face "Your pain is NOT coming from your kidney stone and you need to seek alternative causes". Fast forward 3 months= In more severe pain and a visit to the wonderful SRMC where I was treated properly for my kidney stone. I had developed a severe kidney infection due to Cargills neglect and dismissive behavior. I was given Flomax, antibiotics, and passed my stone in 2 days. And my pain completely subsided. A note to Cargill- kidney stones cause severe pain!!
