Lisa was beyond pleasant to work with. Her personality was also very charming which helped a lot along the way, because we were both amateurs at posing. She brought her assistant for our photoshoot, Paul, who was also as charming. I received my engagement photos in the USB last week and as expected, the pictures were amazing. Our families love them too. It's totally worth it to spend a little bit extra money to get all the photos, especially when the work was excellent and the pictures turn out very beautiful. If our wedding was in town, Lisa West would definitely be our wedding photographer. I highly recommend Lisa for anyone who is looking for a photographer that is personable, professional and "super on-time" with her work. I have heard other photographers that promised you one day, but you wouldn't get your photos until weeks/months later, so be careful with your choice because of course, everyone is excited to see their beautiful photos. I would take pictures of my cats with my phone all the time, but I really wanted a professional to take some pictures and just capture the essence of how cute and meaningful they are to me. Unlike phone pictures, they have a great background, are not blurry, and the pictures capture the entire kittens' bodies. Lisa was so gentle and approachable with the kittens and they took to liking her and playing with her right away. It's so hard to have kittens sit still, but Lisa was able to use a brilliant combination of toys and distractions to get the perfect shots. Lisa also spent a very meaningful and extended time with me to make sure the pictures were perfect during and after the photo-shoot date. While our wedding day ended up being amazingly wonderful, it didn't start out that way and it stormed for most of the early afternoon! But Jessica knew exactly how to handle everything. I was worried that we wouldn't have very many nice photos because of the weather, but we got to see them for the first time yesterday and the pictures are BEAUTIFUL! Highly recommended for studio work of any kind. His shots are well-composed and perfectly lit from every angle. His retouching is like expertly applied makeup - a ton of work and worlds of improvement and you hardly know it's there. Practical stuff was all great. Turnaround time from the shoot was brief, just a couple of business days, faster than promised. No need to send them back for round two or any reworks, he nailed it on the first go. The studio itself was exactly what you want in a working studio floor - comfortable, packed to the gills with all the gear you might need, and messy like the space of a creative person. The space put me at ease and made getting the shots we needed that much more efficient. Communication throughout the whole thing was perfect and quick. For simple portraits and headshots in one wardrobe I was in and out in an easy half hour after starting right on time. In the end I paid for two shots and he sent me multiple cuts of five shots. For what I paid and the quality of work, I got a great bargain. I expect to use these shots for years to come.

The one and only picture of us on their fridge is from 2007. So, my husband and I decided that we might as well get pictures taken, so we can give a few to my parents, too. I mean, after awhile, it's like what do you give your parents for Christmas? Ours have everything they need. We decided we should get some for ourselves while we're at it. I contacted McKay Photography, mainly because we have known them for a long time and respect their work. We were able to schedule a time to meet one evening and it was nice enough to take pictures outside. This was a casual session, since we do know them and also because these were not formal pictures being done. And, we had two unruly dogs with us! We couldn't have been more pleased with the results and the price. I asked to have some pictures printed, which they did for us, as well as giving us a CD with all of the pictures on them. I am familiar with McKay Photography's work and prices. They are very reasonable, accommodating, and professional. They mostly do weddings, engagement photos, senior pictures, etc. But they were willing to take the time to do a short session for us, just so we have some new pics for the 'rents. Highly recommend!
