Mitchell & Sons put a brand new roof on our home in August of 2023. We noticed a leak 2 months ago. Here we are 5 visits to our home to attempt to fix the leak and it is STILL not fixed. Now the owner is refusing to come back to our home to fix the leak. He stated that it is not the roof and not his responsibility. During this 2 month period, my husband had to take off work multiple days and we were stood up, they were no shows, and they cancelled at the last minute. Absolutely terrible customer service and it appears they know nothing about roofs. Now we have the headache of having to fight to get our 2 year old roof fixed that is under warranty!!!! read more

I feel like I've given this company every opportunity to avoid a poor review, but they continue to be a let down. I had my roof replaced in July of 2022, which felt priced appropriately, and the sales guy was friendly. After showing up, the crew left a ton of nails and cigarettes on the ground. I called the office, Tamara told me they've had several problems with that crew (I didn't need to know that), and sent someone out to pick up nails and cigarettes. I still found some months later on, but I know it's impossible to get them all. After a few months, I had a leak above my microwave, and they sent someone out to fix it, the guy was very friendly and even checked back in later on via text to check on the status, which I appreciated. September 27th I called and left a voicemail that during Helene I noticed a leak in the same spot. I told them I understand how busy they are, and it wasn't a priority. After talking to Tamara on Friday, October 4th, I was told they would send someone out on October 7th between 7am and 9am, perfect! After waiting until 9:30am, I called the office, and again spoke to Tamara, who stated that their guys were heading to the owner's house to board it up for the upcoming Hurricane Milton (supposed to make landfall 3 days later) and seemed genuinely confused as to why I would expect the guys to still show up. I asked her, "Are you planning to let the rest of your customers know that you guys aren't doing any appointments today?" and she stated that when she got back to the office she would make calls to let customers know, seriously?? I then called again on October 11th, and spoke to the owner who said he was confused why no one came out to my house, since they were still working up until the hurricane touched down, we ended that I would call again after the storm to attempt to schedule, no problem. I then again spoke to Tamara on October 17th, who even called the owner to confirm they could have someone stop out the next day, the 18th, and even apologized for giving me such a large window, of 8am-12pm. On the 18th, I got a call at 2:14pm from the roofer, saying he would stop by in about 2 hours, and realized he wasn't even given a timeframe, just told to stop out anytime that day. He called me back about 2 hours later and stated it had been a crazy day, so I even told him to not worry about it, to enjoy his weekend, and he could come back Monday. He told me he would still come out, but texted me about an hour later and said he couldn't because he had to pick up his kid, totally fine. He told me that he would be out Monday, October 21st, between 8 and 8:30am. After waiting an extra hour, I texted him and he called and stated his schedule was shifted around and they gave him additional jobs to start. Obviously I wish he would communicate this, but I believe the office, whether Tamara or the owner, should have been the one to let me know this. I also called the office and left a voicemail Friday extremely annoyed and called today as well, with of course no call back. It is now 1:22pm, he called again and asked what time I want him to come out, when I've been waiting on him all day now, so I am now going to pay out of my own pocket to hire someone else to fix this, because this is absolutely unreal and I feel like I'm being pranked at this point, seriously, the ineptness is unbelievable. It feels like they hired a subcontractor and let him work whenever, and they're on completely separate schedules. It truly doesn't feel like a cohesive business. I would personally avoid them if you're someone who needs to take time off of work, as I have done time and time again and lost money over this. I would also avoid if you like things to be timely, as they've displayed both to me, and others, based on reviews, that they cannot show up within their own provided timeframe. If you are looking for a "cheaper" option and don't mind calling and hunting them down if there's ever a problem, then they'll be fine. read more

I had my roof replaced in 2017 after a hurricane by Mitchell and Sons and after Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton I had damage to my home, called my insurance company, sent adjuster , he checked everything and after he inspected my roof he said , roof looks like it was done yesterday... I called and within the week Ryan came out, gave me a price, and replaced my The roofers showed up at dawn and worked until dusk. I had my new roof within two days. The roofers were professional and friendly. After the job was done, they cleaned up and you could not tell they were even there except for the new roof. I would highly recommend Mitchell and Sons roofing! While searching for a company, I called multiple businesses. I was very impressed with how quickly Ryan responded and was able to come out to give me a quote. He took the time to go up on the roof to inspect it before giving me my quote. I feel their pricing was more than fair. They were able to start and complete the roof quickly and left the jobsite impeccably clean. The crew who came to the house to do the work were great, the final result was very nice. They would have gotten 5 stars if not for the office staff, gm and owner harassing me for final payment (75% of payment was made within 48 hrs of job completion), multiple times daily via different phone numbers. They did this in spite of me telling them that 3 attempts to send the final 25% of payment via Zelle bounced back (bank refused to use their email and wanted bank info) and that the bank had mailed the payment via check. Even though I explained the bank wouldnt send check until the Zelle payment was credited back they still harassed me. I have never been harassed by a contractor like this before, are they hard up for money? Today I emailed them the print out info from the bank with all pertinent payment information, they should have their check by tomorrow. I guess they dont know the consumer protection laws on collection activity. Even though the roof looks great buyer beware of dealing with these people. read more

I called for an estimate had 2 other companies come to look one priced $300.00 the other $700.00.ryan came out told me rof was shot wanted $15,000.00 to fix called back other company told him I would wait 2 weeks , the only reason I called this company was I did not want to wait talk about a crook. I have a liscensed plumbing company have been here for over 25 years never even heard of any one doing this he showed me pictures so did the other roofers I think the pictures he showed were from another property .beware and look for other companies he is bait and switch artist wants to get in your pocket read more

Mitchell 7& Sons Roofing completely redid a 50 year old commercial roof on Kennedy Boulevard. This is an active restaurant location and they were able to completely strip the roof, replace rotten wood including trusses, and provide exceptional quality within both timeframe and budget estimates. They did this without even requiring the business to close. The price was fair, they did what they promised, and the customer service was exceptional. Compared to my existing roof, the Titanic only had a small leak. The plywood was rotten, and trusses were compromised. I had called at least half a dozen roofers for estimates and they were all over the place not only in price but in materials and approach to doing the job. Mitchell & Sons was the last company I called. Wyatt came out to the house and I liked his plan, price and timeframe immediately. The crew is a hard working bunch. They had to work in blazing heat, around storms and even during storms. The rain did prolong the completion time but no roofing company can be held responsible for that. The new roof is on and several downpours later have proven its functionality. There is a 20 year warranty on the materials and 10 year warranty on labor. Time will be the ultimate indicator but so far I am very happy with this company and highly recommend them. Thanks Guys! read more

If I could give them negative stars, I would! I had two flat roofs put on top of my home. The guy sent from Mitchell and Son's put the roof on and next thing I know, water in my house all over. Running down the walls and destroying my house and ceilings. They kept coming back and keep destroying my roof by painting black tar crap all over. (looks like the beverly hill billies). For 9 months off and on I have had to deal with this. They finally said the originally guy did not put the railing back correctly and did not put pads underneath, so every time it rained, it ran down.(don't you think you should know this)? Finally, they came and put the pads on (owner was very reluctant to fix it). He loves to avoid me hoping I will go away. Well, believe me. I feel the same way. He acts like I am a pain in the neck and I shouldn't want my house not to leak!!! Well, it is leaking again. He is not answering my calls and will not return my texts. Small claims court next!!!
