About a year ago my 10 year old daughter was referred to the orthodontist for braces. They had all of my information including my insurance. For over a year, it has been a wait and see what happens until finally a few weeks ago the orthodontist said she's ready for braces. After the appointment, they handed me a financial paper showing the amount of braces and payment plan- I explained I had the insurance and they said they will have the billing specialist contact me. After a week and a half with no phone call I called the office and was told they see notes in the system and will have someone call me- once again nobody contacted me. After another a week of waiting, I called again today and was told they aren't affiliated with my insurance so I would have to pay out of pocket!! Why was this not mentioned at the very first appointment or the multiple appointments in between??? Why does the dentist accept the insurance, but the orthodontist does not? And why did nobody call me back?? This place is clearly a joke!

I went to Dr. Golaszewski for 4 agonizing years while I was in high school. I hated every minute of…read moreit. The women is short and cold. and I swear she is a sadist. I've never been put through such pain in my life by another health care professional. Most of her staff are this way as well. She throws her instruments on your chest instead of using the little tables. She and her staff gossip right in front of the patients which is highly unprofessional. She doesn't seem at all invested in her patients. She is usually in and out of the room with minimal conversation with you (while always gossiping with the other staff). Finally after 4 long years I begged my mother to tell her to take the braces off. One of the retainers she made for me to wear after the braces were off didn't fit correctly and was painful but she refused to make me another one. As a result, I didn't wear the retainer of course and now a few of my lower teeth have moved. I'll eventually get these fixed again but I would never go back to Golaszewski! My current dentist has a wonderful orthodontist that he works with so I will be giving him my business instead. I only wish I had met that orthodontist before I had to get braces. My teeth would still be perfectly straight today and I wouldn't have had to suffer to get them that way!

What went from getting just a filling turned into waiting 2 weeks to hear back from them because they were waiting for approval from my insurance for $20,000 worth of dental work he said that I needed. Granted, I don't have a Hollywood smile, but in those 2 weeks of waiting- my tooth abscessed, which I never experienced in my life and don't want to again. I ended up having that tooth pulled AND the one behind it because the infection spread. Bottom line - BIG BUCKS & LEAVE WITH LESS TEETH. I just wanted a filling.
