Can't decide whether it was Laurel and Hardy or 2 of the 3 Stooges moving me yesterday! Of the many moves I've made in my life, my last move was with Mitchell Movers, and it was the VERY WORST!!! I won't even get into the fact that these movers constantly argued amongst themselves on how to do things, or the fact that they couldn't drive the truck....they drove the truck up on the sidewalk and onto the grass and flowerbeds almost knocking out walls... they took five hours to move 2/3 of a one bedroom apartment and damaged most of my belongings in the process. I put two packages of covers for my mattress and box springs on top of my bed expecting them to know what to do with the protective covers. They denied seeing them and move my brand-new mattress and box springs without covering them or any sort of protection. I pointed out that I had bought three heavy duty moving blankets to wrap around my very expensive, custom made bedframe and footboard, When I heard the loud crashing of metal from the bedroom, I Raced in to remind them to wrap my bedframe and handle with care. They did not! I was assured by Trey, the owner of this business, that all large items would be wrapped and handled carefully, they didn't wrap my sofa or my artwork chair and both arrived badly so I held and damaged! My sofa especially has had fabric worn off of it because these movers failed to wrap or load my sofa appropriately. Two legs were also broken off of myself and the fabric is so deeply soiled and stained, I don't know if it can be salvaged... And it was not a cheap piece of furniture! Pieces of my wooden bedroom furniture or badly scratched with missing pieces and my bedframe is scratched and deeply knicked. The boxes that were marked fragile/glass we're packed at the very bottom and arrived with the tops crushed and approximately 3 inches and the corners were arounded. I haven't begun to open the boxes, many of them arrived in the same crushed condition. Having moved many times I know how to wrap and pack my belongings, but I fear that some of those crushed boxes holding my very expensive Chyna may not have survived this move. I finally had to tell the movers to stop, I was so upset by the length of time it was taking them, the hourly rate racking up into big box, and the amount of damage I saw as my belongings arrived at my new residence just 2 miles away. I contacted Tra, the owner, and expressed my tremendous disappointment in the length of time it took and the extremely poor quality of service. So the five hours it took two muscled men to move 2/3 of a one bedroom apartment 2 miles away was going to cost me over $475. OUTRAGEOUS!!! Tra was only willing to knock off one hour of moving ($80). I've been exhausted and thoroughly frustrated excepted that. But as I looked around in the morning and saw all the damage daylight, I sent pictures and emails to Tra. I asked for a full and immediate refund of my money; Tra's response was to meet me at my apartment at 6 o'clock on a Friday evening to discuss/negotiate my refund. WRONG ANSWER! read more

I was moving and did not prepare like I should have. This resulted in half of my apartment being moved on move out day and the other half still intact. I was desperate to find someone that could move everything else out by the next day as my lease was up. I called Mr. Mitchell late Saturday afternoon and despite himself and his men being off on Sunday he was able to pull together a team who not only showed up on time but was able to ease all of my worries about moving the rest of my apartment. I don't know what I would have done without their help. They were hard working, reliable, and went out of their way to help me when needed. read more

If good great service and great care is important to your move, Mitchell's Movers is company to call. Another company never showed up and time was running out on my storage facility. When I called Tre, he listened to my whoes and needs. He was able to provide 2 trucks and 3 guys the next day. I was so pleased to see the care they took. Without telling him about my grandmother's buffet, they used blankets and straps on it to ensure it would not get damaged. I was so pleased with their care. From the first call to set up service until the truck door was closed at the completion of the move, Trey (Owner) and his team operated with efficiency. The team of 3 guys arrived on time, walked through to assess the job and carefully wrapped each piece of furniture prior to putting it on the truck. We needed a queen bedroom set (7 pieces) moved from 2nd floor to their truck for a CL delivery and then another queen bedroom set moved from our garage to our bedroom. Mitchell's had the most affordable pricing, showed up on time, was properly equipped, accessed the situation, and got to work. We have a complicated set of stairs that had to be navigated but they managed brilliantly. The CL folks at the other end also emailed me that delivery was great at their end as well. Outstanding service, great people - The folks at Mitchell's Mover's showed up on time and got to work right away once I showed them what needed to be moved. They were incredibly professional and did not seem flustered by how much they had to move. They were incredibly efficient (both moving from my old place and to the new place had multiple sets of stairs) and handled everything in a swift manner. I highly reccommend Tre and his squad as they are a great, hardworking local business and I will refer everyone I know that needs moving services. Having said that, I cannot stress enough that everything must be ready to go when they show up because it's more time you're paying if you're still packing boxes. Outstanding customer service! I requested service this morning and they were able to fit me into their schedule for the same day. The dispatcher was very professional over the phone. When he realized his guys would arrive a bit later due to another job they were on, he promptly notified me. The crew arrived and was very professional. They loaded my 2 bedroom apartment in 50 minutes during the dead of summer on a day where the high is 99 degrees! Movers were OK but he charged me additional due to traffic and he was going to charge me more to throw stuff away at the dumper. Make sure you know what he's charging before you get him because he will add stuff as you move. read more
