I have moved four times the last five years. Most recently I used this moving company. Next time, I will use the one I previously used instead of Big Tuck. The pricing was not as straight forward as other companies. Also, if you are going to charge for moving supplies and a premium overall, wash your moving pads. Some were ragged / falling apart and most were so dirty they left dirt on walls and when tape was being removed, you could see the dirt plumes - disgusting as these were placed on my furniture including my couch. One of my marble side tables had the marble cracked completely through and they broke my $1k office chair so now the cylinder is touching the floor due to the move. I've had other movers move this furniture in the past with no issue. I paid more and got less. Next time I will use Irish Ox Movers as they did a better job in the past. First they moved us from two hours away into a storage facility, and then a month and a half later, they moved us from the storage facility into our new house. My sister and her family are moving from the San Francisco Bay area to the Washington DC area. I live in Las Vegas and was planning to go out to help get the house ready for them. Due to logistical issues some of the new furniture they had purchased was shipped to my godmother's house in Sandston. I looked on Yelp and saw Big Tuck Moving Truck had nothing but excellent reviews so I called and talked to Cory Tucker the owner of the company. He was very pleasant and professional and I got the feeling he had been doing this for a while. He gave me a preliminary estimate that sounded reasonable and we arranged to meet when I arrived in Sandston. After we met, he sent a contract that I was able to sign online. So easy. We scheduled a day and time the following week. He arrived 15 minutes early which was very admirable. He and his helper came in and began carefully protecting all the furniture that was not in boxes and before I knew it, the truck was loaded and ready to head to DC. We hopped in the car and headed out as well. Because of traffic we arrived at the house about 10 minutes before the truck. I showed them where the things were going and stood back. The entire time they were team lifting things they constantly communicated with each other to assure that neither the furniture nor the house was damaged. They even helped move a couple of things that were put in the wrong place by company that moved the other household goods from California. I don't think I can say enough good things about Big Tuck Moving Truck. It was such a great experience. We hired Big Tuck to move us from an apartment in Richmond to a house in Henrico County. We had two movers, one being Tuck himself, and they took such great care to not only load our stuff, but were so careful to wrap up and protect the furniture and brought pads to protect the apartment/house as well. These guys were awesome, even around our stairs which are tricky to navigate because of the angle. If they noticed anything was broken, they made sure to bring it to my attention just in case it was their fault (none of it was, we just had some things that were already falling apart). We went from a two story house to another two story house and it was no complaints. They put the sofas together and set up the king size beds. They were courteous and cleaned behind themselves. I am a mother with a baby. I had a very stressful move planned where Big Tuck Moving Truck had to pick up stuff from a 14th floor apartment in 1 city, drop off some of that stuff and pick up new additional stuff up at a 2nd location in another city, and then go to an entirely different state and move all of the rest of the stuff in. I was super stressed about the complicated interstate move, but they made it all seamless at a really affordable price. They patiently made sure to put every box and item in the space I wanted it to go at every location stop of the move along the way which helped a ton while I was trying to manage my baby. Even when baby was getting in the way and crawling near their stuff, they caringly made sure to remove any seemingly dangerous items near baby. They set up all of our bedframes and dressers (something I was especially stressed about as I wouldn't have been able to manage such big items on my own). They communicated every step of the way by phone if there were any hiccups in terms of finding the different locations. They showed us a lot of kindness, care, and patience during a very stressful move and did it all with smiles on their faces and at a super reasonable price.
