This was my first time ever on a guided fishing trip, so things i experienced may be the norm for…read moreguiding trips. i'll start of with the boat, the live well was not working... which left us with dead shrimp within 30 minutes. he also mentioned his fish finder was not working and won't be needing it, after fishing over a sinking ship structure he decides to try and spend some time finding a particular "white pvc pipe" sticking out of the water. we never did find it or any keeper size fish. the fishing equipment on board was below average, the rods were good, but most of the reels were past their life, same with the line on the spool. i was handed one where the fishing line had a bad abrasion that if i would to hook any keeper size fish it would have broke off. That was probably the worst experience i can have for a first time guided trip. also the bait he had in the livewell did not even last our 5 hour trip, which included 6 people.

The captain stopped and gave us the option to cancel and get a refund or reschedule. We caught Red Snapper and Mangrove Snapper right when we stopped the boat. My daughter caught another Shark also on this trip also. The trip was reasonably priced and the experience was as good as I have had on a charter. Book It you won't regret it.

On my last trip, Grassy Point delivered my kayak to the water ready to go, and within a few minutes I was headed out to the bay to go fishing. At the ramp I noticed several kayak owners struggling to unload and prep their kayaks for a day of fishing. I simply loaded my gear on the kayak, signed the paperwork and was gone.
