Don't attend this class, it will teach you bad habits! The problems with this class: 1. The instructor I had was not a competent teacher or a competent bartender, and had only done "gig work" part time. He could not answer basic cocktail questions, explain basic bartending concepts, or demonstrate simple things like free-pouring. 2. The location I went to (West Ashley/Charleston) was poorly maintained. Holes in the walls and floor, unclean back bar, dirty bottles, etc. They also don't actually have the ability to let you practice making drinks, cutting garnishes, or anything useful. You just pour water into a glass a few times and that's it. 3. The information provided by the course in their booklet was outdated at best and incorrect at worst. Several drink recipes they listed included incorrect ingredients, or incorrect preparation methods. The booklet was also riddled with typos and other incorrect information. I attended this class to gain knowledge about working in a professional environment. The course doesn't teach that at all. I learned more from YouTube and talking to bartenders than anything this class could offer. When I emailed the organizer and explained that I was unsatisfied with the instructor competency and the course information, they rudely asked why I had signed up for the class if I "know everything already." I know that negative feedback is frustrating, but maybe you need to examine why you got that feedback instead of blaming your customers. I left the class after the first day because of the above reasons. I don't know how they have so many positive reviews on Google. Take my advice: DO NOT ATTEND!
