If I could leave 0 stars I would but in spite of their lack of communication and slow repair of my vehicle, I will say it is working now. This place had been recommended to me, but I do not recommend it to anyone. I took my car in on a Wednesday for a diagnostic and was told that they would call me back with an estimate. On Friday, two days later, I called them because I still hadn't heard from them. I was then told that the mechanic was looking at it at that moment. However, it was Friday afternoon and I was told the shop is closed on Mondays so I wouldn't know anything until the following Tuesday. For this reason, I was forced to rent a vehicle, which Advantage Auto does not provide. So I rented a vehicle planning to return it on Tuesday, as the shop would be open and I was told he would get right to work on my vehicle then. But I needed to extend that rental until the following Friday evening (10 days after I'd taken my car in for a diagnostic). Communication is key to everything and Advantage Auto only communicated with me after I made several calls trying to discover what was going on with my car. I admit I wasn't pleasant but I do expect communication if you have my property. After this call, they did make a few calls to get my agreement to go ahead with the repair. Even then there wasn't much communication. I received a call on Friday afternoon/evening stating my car was repaired. (10 days after taking it in originally). Upon arriving to pick up my vehicle on Saturday morning, to my surprise they were open on Saturday - contrary to the previous week. When I was about to pay for the work done, I asked if they could take some off due to the loss of my vehicle for 10 days & having to rent one - especially since I hadn't been told how long it would take. I was refused any kind of accommodation for this. As if that wasn't enough, I was also informed at the time of payment that a credit card payment would add a charge to the price. This was not disclosed to me when I took my car in originally even when I had asked if they accepted a particular card. When I commented on this, he smugly pointed to a sign above him on the wall, simply printed out and stuck to the wall, saying that there would be an extra charge if cards are used to pay. Other places have recently adopted this practice but will accept a check as cash payment. However, Advantage Auto only takes cash or credit card, and will not accept a check. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't normally carry $2000 cash in my wallet. And when I got into my car to drive it away, I noticed the gas light was on. When I checked the mileage on the vehicle between when I took it in and when I picked it up, there were over 200 miles put on my car!! That's a LOT of test drives! Best part is that the paperwork they gave me states that NO MILES were put on!! Once again, I would like to say that communication is absolutely key when doing business in any business. As a professional, that is actually what I do and I am frustrated that there was no communication other than a few times after I got angry and complained about the lack of communication. So, as I stated at the beginning of this review, let me say to all you drivers, Beware. Advantage Auto will smugly and gladly take advantage of you.

At Mavis they suggested Advantage, and I'm so glad they did. Were the repairs took a while. John stayed in contact with us the entire time. His prices are good and his work impeccable. Our truck drives like a new vehicle. I wish I knew a great mechanic like them where I live.

I called him in desperation as my family pulled over at a gas station by I-95 with a flashing check engine light and a jittery engine. He talked me through what was probably happening and gave enough information for me to decide what I needed to do. He was straightforward about what he could do and the fact that it might not be fixable in the hour before he closed, but he offered to get us to a hotel if necessary. The necessary parts were in stock, though, so he stayed a bit late to install them. We went from desperate and fearing a missed vacation to on the road in just over 2 hours. As far as we can tell, he is very competent and honest. We recommend him highly.

Earlier today I noticed that my front driver side tire is looking really bad and didn't want to chance going another day on it. I really don't have the money for a new tire so I stopped in for a used one. They had my size in stock and as I already mentioned I was in and out in no time at all.
