I came here with a friend who lives in Paris, who highly recommended this French-Middle Eastern fusion place. Although situated next to many popular falafel places that may draw bigger crowds, Miznon is a cute treasure that I was lucky to be introduced to. The line may be long at times, but it is definitely worth the wait! Inside the restaurant, the open cooking area makes it an extremely family-friendly vibe, with seating available at the bar and in a back room with cute tables. My friend and I ordered the boeuf bourguignon, which she highly recommended, and then were able to easily find seating in the back room. When the food arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. I did not expect the portion of the boeuf bourguignon in pita bread to be so large, and was extremely happy with the taste. The food was extremely well prepared and well seasoned, and even though I was full at the end, I still wanted more. A side note, there was a large party of 8 next to us that seemed to order a large variety of foods. It seems like you can order your own full vegetables and meat mixes, and then make your own pita sandwiches as well. Best pita bread I've ever had! It is so fresh and warm. I ordered the spicy fish pita and split a cauliflower head with a friend. The spicy fish pita (€12) wasn't spicy (& I have a moderately to low spice tolerance). It was white fish in a tomato based sauce, with tahini. So good. The pita was stuffed full with fish, so it was worth the money and filling. The charred cauliflower (€6.50) was so soft. They bring you 3 dipping sauces to accompany it: tahini, tomato sauce, & a green sauce. Having a pita and under half a cauliflower was a huge meal! Left me stuffed. When I go back, I'll just get a pita. The straying in the front of the restaurant is smokey because it's next in the open kitchen, but the seating in the back of the kitchen has fresher air. read more

David is the heart and soul of this restaurant. I haven't met the chef personally but he's also a constant fixture. The food here is superb. I've had everything on the menu and you can't go wrong. Almost everything is served in a pita except the ratatouille or some specials. My favorites include the beef Bourguignon, kifta kébab, roastbeef, and smashed potato. I was drawn to this restaurant because of their unusually large selection of vegetables! I wanted to try all of them, but they had items missing both times I went (probably because it was super busy around New Years). Everyone raves about the cauliflower but I didn't get to try it fresh. They ran out both times I visited, but on the second visit I tried someone else's cauliflower, but by then it was already cold, so not great. However, we did try making it at home using Miznon copycat recipes and it turned out amazing! My favorite was the haricots verts (green beans). These come lightly seasoned with lemon, olive oil and flaky salt. Simple but tasted incredible! Tried the artichoke and didn't really like it - while it was beautifully presented, I wasn't sure how to eat it and they had run out of sauces by the time I got my order. The ratatouille has an interesting flavor - it tastes kind of Asian-inspired, like they added soy sauce or something to make it extra rich. It was unique but I think I prefer other ratatouilles with a stronger tomato base. Despite some hiccups, I think this restaurant has a great concept and well thought out menu, and is absolutely worth a try if you're in Paris. I didn't try the pitas, but people around me who did seemed to be enjoying them. Come during non-meal peak hours (tea time?) for the best experience - I came at night both times and it does tend to get chaotic, especially since waiters yell out your name and the space is pretty crammed. read more

When you're looking for vegetables and fiber on your trip in Paris, this is the place to go! Miznon definitely has some influence from outside of Paris since it is counter service - a la fast casual style. We found this refreshing to not be beholden to waitstaff on our trip since most of our meals had hit-or-miss service. Also, the staff switches in talking to each other in English and French. I even overheard someone yelling out a temperature - 400 - so they also were talking in Fahrenheit which was interesting. The food was so delicious and refreshing! We ordered a blistered head of cauliflower as well as a chicken pita. The pita sandwich was, I think, pulled chicken, with lots of herbs like mint in the most tender and soft pita. The pita was very hearty and included a lot of meat. The cauliflower was so amazing - oil, salt, veg. That's it. But it was broiled to blackened, but it tasted so good. I'd go back over and over. Though this may not be the most authentically French, it might be one of my favorite restaurants - even beating out most restaurants in my hometown of Chicago. read more

This hipster Israeli place really knows their stuff. Not one dish I've had there has been anything less than perfect. Hidden down an alley from the Marais big hitters you would be tempted by all the other delights the neighborhood has to offer but don't be fooled by the bright colors and long lines. This is the real place to be. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd dream about cauliflower but they made it in food and wine magazine and I get them for dinner all the time. Incredible pitas with fantastic meats and veggies and all the good things inside. We ordered five different pita types between the seven of us and they were all ridiculously good and stacked with fillings. The beef bourguignon was fall apart tender, the pulled chicken "salad" was the most flavorful I've ever tasted and the roasted cauliflower head is can't miss. My first visit ended up in 3 stars. I have been here twice since - and my enjoyment of Miznon is way larger now. I actually like this place very much now. The food is amazing. While my first visit - and the pita with chicken salad - was disappointing affair, my two last visits showed me the real competencies of Miznon. The pita with bouef bourguignon is a legend. Really. A masterpiece. A beautiful, beautiful creation. We're talking a fluffy pita filled with melt-in-your-mouth bouef bourguignon. It seems so strange, so different, yet unbelievably good. The pita with lamb kebab isn't as equally amazing, but still very good. I love the grilled lamb taste, the freshness of all the herbs - and to top it; all the tahini sauce you can think of. Sounds great to me, eh? I am a huge fan of the food. The place... Hmm, not so much. Or - I do like it and its concept, but it is chaotic all the time. Top that with a quite strange service. The place wasn't big, but they have improved with lots of seating behind the chaotic kitchen. Miznon is one of my favourite pita places in the entire world. The food is absolutely outstanding. Trendy fast/casual israeli restaurant where the menu's written on a blackboard and you order at the register. Food is moderately priced-- around 11 euro per sandwich (great for le marais pricing). Super fun ambiance-- friendly staff (definitely a tightly knit group), delicious food, and great music :) Ordered two pitas both with lamb and the roast cauliflower and asparagus sides. Everything was delicious!! The sides are slightly expensive but totally worth it (huge portions!)! The sandwiches are served in fresh, soft, warm pitas. The extra pita bit that is cut off in order to fill the sandwiches are complimentary served along with various dips for you to enjoy while you're there or waiting for your food (put the tahini sauce on your sandwich!!). This place is absolutely delicious. Lots of fancy gourmet combos you can have in pita sandwiches: bœuf bourguignon, lamb, steak, chicken, tuna, veggie.... The food is all fresh (you can see all the ingredients and it is cooked in front of u) and they also have delicious roasted cauliflower. There's a variety of sauces and free pita bread to nibble on as you wait. 4 stars instead of 5 because it is pricey for what it is (around 11€ a pita, depending on what u get), but it's worth it. Hit up this place on our way to see Nicolas Flamel's house. The line was out the door, down the street, but a friend had recommended this place so we stayed put and sure enough the line moved fast. The baked cauliflower was to DIE for. Highly highly recommend. I got the beef gyro, but in retrospect, I'd get the vegetarian option. The beef gyro was a bit too meaty for me (I've been cutting back on meat in general) and my mom's veg option looked really freaking good. Came right around lunch time and it was packed to the gills! The line could've been out the door but it was too cold so we just all huddled inside. There's only about 20 seats so the place is pretty tiny but it makes up for it with big flavor! I ordered the steak and cauliflower because the guy that was sitting enjoying his food told me that's what I had to get so I did. The steak was sliced and a perfect medium rare. It had a parsley salad and the pita was a pillowy little pocket of yummy. The cauliflower was charred and sprinkled with salt on the outside and soft and juicy when you cut into it. There's self serve sauces and they even have beer. They speak English here and were super kind. My food came out quick and I scarfed it right up! The sitting situation is a bit cramped and the chairs where pretty uncomfortable but all that is insignificant when you take that first bite. Best pita on earth! My entire meal came out to about 20 euros which is a bit high for a sort of hole in the wall but totally worth every penny. I am only here until Wednesday but I am definitely coming back. We walked in and 2 Pac was blasting...we knew we were at the right spot. We had the massive head of broccoli with this green sauce and I don't even like broccoli but I thoroughly enjoyed it. We also had a lamb kebab and steak pita. The lamb had good flavor. I liked the steak a bit more because it had more fresh veggies to balance things out. Make sure you add some of the green sauce (it's on the back table) to add some flavor and just a bit of spice. The pita was hot and pillow-like. As a party of ten, we probably should not have even attempted to frequent Miznon. But one of our family members had visited and insisted we try it. We ordered and waited and during this time, the staff continued to look for people leaving in order to get us seated. I must say, totally unexpected but sooooo much appreciated! Then the food came out. Oh my. The food! I ordered the potato pita which was out of this world! The potatoes had the most delicious flavor and texture, mixed lightly with a sauce, all in the softest, most tasty pita I have ever eaten. The green beans as a side are cooked with olive oil, lemon and sea salt. So incredible. They have a menu in English and French which is very convenient. The lamb seems to be the most popular so that's what I ordered and it was delicious. So we were looking for somewhere else and came across Miznon, pretty long line but was moving pretty fast. After speaking with a few nice people around we were sold on trying out the spot. Line did go fast and we placed our order for Hamburgers, Falafels and some side starters. Service was great, we were a pretty big party and they prepared a great spot for us and said "relax and we'll bring everything to you" as the food got ready one by one we got our dishes and boy they were great. This is one of the few places that I can give an unequivocal 5 star rating, both in terms of food and service. We showed up at the door and were immediately welcomed in by one of the guys there (owner?). He noticed that we thanked him in English and offered us a copy of the menu (typically on the wall) on a laminated card in English. I had heard that everything was good so it was a tough choice, but we ended up getting the lamb pita which was AMAZING. I could easily eat that every day for lunch for a month. It's not exactly cheap at ~12 euros, but well worth it. While were were waiting, we took a seat at the table in the front and another of the workers offered us to come and help ourselves to pita bread and dip. Do yourself a favor and try the white dip. Wow. I don't know what's in it, but it was GOOD. The green sauce is jalepeno I think and quite spicy (my husbands favorite), but much too hot for me.
