Let me be the first to apologise and recommend that you dig beneath the surface and try this place out. For our first visit we ordered from the menu as we didn't have time to linger over our meal. The quality, texture and flavour of the food was sensational. My poached eggplant with homemade miso was divine with hints of green tea and something equally creamy and almost buttery without being overly salty. A mouth winner for sure. Our other choices included karage, aburi salmon, pork gyoza and edamame beans. The pork gyoza were perhaps the dissappointment of the night, but only because they were so plain when compared with the amazing flavours and textures of the other dishes. Even the condiments of homemade sesame chilli sambal and a beautiful soy blend were something we were prepared to beg the chef for the recipe to attempt to recreate at home. The amazing thing is that with a bottle of sake and 5 dishes we walked away with a bill of $50 for two. An absolute winner and we'll definately be back and perhaps next time to try out the BBQ option.

Service was fast and friendly and the waitstaff actually kneel or sit at your level not hovering over you which i always appreciate. We ordered off the menu to get a feel for the place, we both had hot stone bowls, which neither of us jad experienced before. Our meal came out neatly presented and then we were asked if we wanted oureals stired! Hell yeah, stir away! My server was quick enough to save a piece of pork trying to escape my bowl from hitting the table and my kimchee was stirred through thoroughly. Heads up if you've never had kimchee before, its spicy but totally worth it! Im usually not a fan of spicy food but in the spirit of trying new things i gave it a go and enjoyed it thoroughly. My partner who is a lover of all things spicy was impressed too! Drinks appear to be on the pricey side on the menu but once you see the size of them you quickly change your mind. It was a school night so we only had juice, but i want to go back and try saki! We walked out spending less than $40 for 2 people including drinks and a shared dessert. I'll be going back!

The seats are big and comfortable, the decor is new and sleek, as is the 'train' - which like most sushi trains these days is actually just a moving conveyor. Being at this Sushi Central feels nice, clean and friendly. The food I would suggest isn't quite up to the standard of Redcliffe. Though, not by far. They have taken a chef over, but the other staff seem to be new. It just didn't have that same taste. Possibly due to the use of utensils etc that just haven't taken on that sushi taste yet? Who knows. It was fine though. It was definitely better because it was a lot more quiet than Redcliffe. There was no wait and we weren't next to any screaming children. Always ask for the white sauce, by the way. It's not actually white like japanese mayonaise. I've heard rumours that it's actually that mixed with soy sauce. Whatever it is, it tastes great. Oh man I could go some sushi now, actually... Oh I forgot to mention that these sushi places are cheaper than CBD ones. I guess being out of the way works for them. I say give them a shot. Sushi Mura is not Japanese/Chinese fusion like Yum Yum Gyoza House, and has a wide selection of dishes you would typically find at a Japanese restaurant on their menu. From Sushi through to mixed sushi boxes, Salads, Japanese U-don soups, various Curries and of course Teriyaki options. There's room for dining-in and inside (which is larger than Yum Yum Gyoza House) there's an aesthetically calm feel to the space. Simple low hanging pendant lights and the natural colours of the wooden floors (& matching tables), and with the use of black chairs giving form and definition. The service is friendly and full of smiles. Always wins points with me. The food can't really be faulted either. I like Japanese food. I am a fan of their Teriyaki chicken bento box, which comes standard with rice, miso soup and salad. The spring rolls and calamari were great too. In terms of pricing, its not too bad, and yes I do think its "value-for-money". However, If I had to compare Sushi Mura to Yum Yum Gyoza House, the latter slightly wins on this criteria. I think I'd like to try the cheese one if I went again because it would go nicely with the rice. The seafood one was good though. Seafood taste really enhanced the dish. Prawns, little shrimp, baby octopus (chopped I think), chopped mussels and squid. It was good. We also got served a miso soup, a type of coleslaw, kim chi and seaweed. I really enjoyed the side dishes, they were tasty and went well with the rice dish. We got all this for $29 so I was definitely impressed. Very casual establishment - each table came with a little doorbell type buzzer to press when we were ready to order. Which is just as well as there seemed to only be one staff member in the whole restaurant. The food, however, was delicious. The dumplings were hot and crispy with tasty filling. The bibimbap (Korean for 'mixed rice') was full of vegetables, plenty of meat and also came with a few interesting side dishes to mix in as well. All in all it was an average experience, however the food was good and that was what we were there for after all.
