I hired MJ Law and worked with Gabriel Jack for an immigration case. I paid in full upfront, and after over three years, there was absolutely no progress whatsoever. When I first hired them, Gabriel told me the case would take about 6 months, then three years. When that time passed, literally nothing had been done. No interview scheduled, no work permit--nothing. During this same period, I know people with identical cases who already had their residency or at least work permits. Communication was terrible. Gabriel would take weeks to respond to my emails, and I'd have to send multiple follow-ups just to hear back. When he did respond, the information was often vague or even contradictory. After three years of waiting and getting nowhere, my wife and I finally had enough. We paid thousands of dollars for zero results. Bottom line: Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. There are many immigration attorneys in the area--find one who will actually work on your case and communicate with you. I wish I had read reviews like this before hiring MJ Law. read more

This review is for a fiancé visa (K-1) and the follow up Adjustment of Status (I-485). Our case was pretty straightforward (we have known each other for a very long time) so we mainly want someone to help with the process and double check the forms and all the submission. We mostly worked with an assistant in filling out the forms and preparing all supporting documents. They prepared all the forma and let us verified the information. The "packages" were organized and submitted without any issue. For K-1, nothing out of ordinary and it was approved on time. For AOS, things got a bit more complicated after the submission and biometrics, likely due to COVID. Our case was stuck for almost two years at fingerprint fee received but that is still within the "normal processing time" so we didn't do anything. It was at this point where MJ law reached out to the USCIS to inquire about our case. We learned that the fingerprints weren't accepted and we will need to do another one. I'd say this is the highlight of our case as, had MJ not reached out, we would just continue to wait aimlessly. They helped us in this aspect even before we ask for it. We went to the interview with Gabriel and his presence was a huge help in easing our nerve. He knows his way around the office and all the officers there so the atmosphere was more relaxed. I had a really bad experience with Gabriel J. (June 2022) I had a video conference with him (for $150) to discuss my immigration case. To begin with, I was supposed to get a link in advance for the video call which I never got. My appointment was at 11am, by that time I had never received a link or call. 20 minutes before the appointment I called the office 10 times and never responded. I finally got a call from the lawyer Gabriel at 11.20. I told him I wanted to have a video meeting to show him my documents. He was not able to create a link for video call (I guess he just didn't want to do video call) until I had to create a link and send it to him. To me he is not professional and is very disrespectful. While we were discussing my case, his phone was ringing and he was texting I suppose. Then a kid was around there and he was paying attention to the kid. Also, he got a phone call (he asked me to hold on) but what a disrespectful person, he was on the phone ordering food and he was taking his time as if he was not in a meeting or working. What a waste of money and what a disrespectful person. I would not continue with the case with this firm. If he was doing that the first interview, imagine if he takes my case. We only chose him to be our lawyer because he had one of the highest yelp reviews. The unprofessionalism was shocking to say the least. We paid $1000 fee for help with my permanent resident wife not getting her citizenship. He got us an an interview date, but he could not attend so we had to go there alone. I give Gabriel 5 starts because he took my parents complicated case, even when several lawyers had said there is no hope. Side note: Mom and Dad had been in the US illegally for more than 29 years, both parents had done some "illegal" stuff to be able to work in the US/and to seek asylum. He is well known in the USCIS office which adds to the credibility of your case. There are a lot of legal rules that he is aware of because of being frequent to the USCIS office and interacting with the staff, that can help your application being processed in a timely manner. I wish that I had gone to him sooner in order to become naturalized. I had to wait a long time before my interview got scheduled(5 1/2 years instead of taking 3 years). I took his service to appear in an interview, if it wasn't for him my wait would have gotten extended because of some complications with the bureaucratic process during the interview.
