After a little more than a month, the roof began leaking, and in less than two months, the elastomeric roof coating that was warrantied for five years began peeling. Six months later, the roof sprang three other major leaks, causing thousands of dollars in damages within my home. Not only did he ignore my requests to correct his shoddy workmanship and honor his contract, the city also fined me $1000 because he failed to pick up the construction permit, falsified government documents, and failed to obtain a fire permit to install torch down roofing. I told him I only had $14,000 to spend on the deck.
