I customarily stray away from reviews but this one is warranted. I had a fence installed in 2023. The salesman was just that a sales man. We were told, we have clients in Margate - million dollar homes. We take pride in our work. I documented the install during the process and the lack of craftsmanship was appalling (wood cut uneven, pieces not aligning, missing nails, etc). This required several walk throughs and phone calls to the point that pieces had to be removed and reinstalled. Fast-forward to a year later, pieces started to separate & an associate comes out documents several areas that needed to be corrected & ensures she's on it & the previous associate was terminated. Due to the winter months we waited until now to visit the actual store. The manager was apologetic with someone coming out today (23rd). I've been waiting four hours and still no one. I called an another lady says, I'll call you back by 4:30P, I didn't know he never came. This is ridiculous! This has been the worst experience. We have been patient and respectful while being dismissed after being acknowledge. Would you dismiss customers with million dollar homes!! Our home may not be worth a million dollars, however, we paid the bill in full and work just as hard as customers in Margate!!! read more

Prompt, Professional, Outstanding Customer Service, Excellent Installers. I had my fence installed 5 years ago with Progressive Rail, and wrote a 5 star review then. I recently had a fire damaged panel, Robert came out ASAP, matched the panel to the original, and replaced it within a week. AMAZING company and employees! Robert is the estimator that came out in 2018, and now for this repair. My contractor experience for various jobs have been sketchy, but Progressive Rail knocks it out of the park on all levels!!! read more

I've never left a negative review but after 4 months worth of attempts to be refunded my $8,000 deposit, to no avail - I've been left with no choice. The owner, Mike Martinella, signed a contract with me to do a railing project in Wildwood, NJ and a few weeks later we needed to cancel the project. Right in his contract it says that for any contracts that are cancelled, there will be a 20% restocking fee, which I completely undestand. However, he has failed to refund ANY of the deposit amount. I've stopped in the office in person with proof of our deposit, signed contract, and I'm usually told that he is in a Zoom meeting. Come on Mike, do the right thing already - how do you operate a business like this? How do you sleep at night? Call me at 609-813-5350... thanks? I guess? read more

I have had an outdoor shower at the shore for years and recently purchased a new home with no outdoor shower. I was recommended to Progressive through a contractor. They came out and said I would have it in 6 to 8 weeks. Turned out to be 12 weeks but with everything that was going on I thought that to be reasonable. They send one man out to install this 4 ft. by 8 ft shower. He spent two days installing. This is one of the nicest showers that I have seen. He secured it to our house, used 4x4's with the vinyl 30 inches in the ground. This thing will never blow over in Brigantine. This person was a true professional craftsman. I am extremely happy with my shower. My whole family was visiting for a week and everyone wanted to wait to use the out door shower. read more

Living at the shore, wind can be severe. Progressive Fence installed my fence and then returned to reinforce it in a spot that incurred some wind damage. Allison was excellent at getting the service scheduled and Dan did an exceptional repair. He took the time to place extra reinforcements that I really appreciated. this is the most incompetent company never met, they made me loss thousands of dollars because the promise finish a job in the rental property but the never done on time, I returned the job two times so I can't rented the property por 4 months. please try 1000 companies before you have to use progressive fence because The only they do fast is make your check cash. read more

We scheduled appointment at the end of May. As of the second week in September they have still not shown up. Deposit was almost $6,000 for railings. Many excuses such as weather, getting subcontractors etc. Their bid was lower than others, but now I see why. They take on too much work, then don't get it done. read more

Hired Progressive Fence for a large project. Lynette the sales woman really wanted the job and was overly nice which turned out to be fake. The crew installing the fence did a horrible job and does not speak English so you cannot communicate with them. Early into the job I noticed they were installing the posts right side up rather then pointy side down which is the way I had discussed with the sales woman Lynette prior to the job. When I called the sales woman, she said they would cut off the pointed tops to make them flat.. this was not a big deal but it was just the beginning. They did not bump out the fence in an area that we had discussed prior to installation. I called Lynette as soon as I realized while they were still in the process of installing and she said it would be to difficult to do So they decided not to do it??? I said why did no one mention that prior to installing? That was what we agreed on. She ended up saying, okay it was no problem they would move some of the posts and do what we agreed to. Okay, at least they would fix it. When they came to measure to make the alteration, they realized the other side of the fence, which was totally complete was not on our property but on Township property next to us. They told me they could leave it but I had to sign a waiver because the township could come bulldoze it.... I obviously said I wanted it on my property where it was supposed to be. So they had to take down and reinstall the entire side. I really do not know how they measured wrong. I literally had a survey done specifically for this reason and they had the survey prior to installation. The crew left trash all over my yard which I noticed throughout the project but thought they would clean up at the end do I didn't complain. Spoiler alert, they ended up leaving it all even once they were done. When the project was complete, I went and took a look. It was horrible. The gates were poorly placed, scratched and had numerous extra screw holes all over. The trash was left all over the yard. The crew had installed broken and rotted fence pieces. They had more panels and posts on the invoice then were even installed, I counted.. (I guess when it's a big project they assume you won't check). I took pictures and sent them to Lynette, she met me at the project with the manager. He was very understanding and apologetic. while we were there, we realized my well had been hit. I pointed it out the the manager and said this looks like it was hit (it was cracked and the bricks around it were out of place. He said if they hit it that would not be good. The manager said he would fix the broken and rotten panels and the gates which I was very happy with. We went to go use the water in the house which we had not yet been living in and a bunch of dirt spit of of the faucet. Our water pressure was terrible. There were no Issues prior to is noticing the well was hit. We called a well company that came and they confirmed the well had been hit, the pump was stuck and we would need a new well. The sales woman called me and said she wanted the other half of the bill. I told her we wouldn't pay the bill until the improvements were made and confirmed to her that the well had been hit and I wanted to discuss this because i now had to have a new well drilled because of their negligence. She said the crew did not drive in the backyard. I told her they absolutely did, I was there when they drove in the backyard on multiple occasions. She said it's their word against mine!! I could not believe this. I had multiple witnesses who were with me on site at various times throughout the project who would confirm that they drove in the backyard. & recklessly drove at that. So much so that it had actually been a topic between me and the witnesses prior to any of these issues arose. Horribly unprofessional to tell me my word against theirs. I was 8 months pregnant and could not believe that a "legitimate" company would take that position. I got in touch with the manager and he apologized for the unprofessional sales woman Lynette And said he believes that they drove in the backyard and would get in touch with the owner to see how they could make it right. The owner called and said he had to do his due diligence before he could take responsibility for the damage to the well which I understood. I sent him pictures of his crew on the property while the well was in perfect condition. It was the only work being done at the time. he wanted to reach out to a plumber that had worked on our plumbing to confirm there was no prior issue. The plumber confirmed this. I also told him that his manager, sales woman and another employee all saw the cracked well with the bricks out of place and would confirm this & he told me they did.. but he still did not want to take full responsibility for the damage. The company should have agreed to pay for the new well. Shame on them. Horrible experience. Would not recommend this company!!!! read more

Beware We had Progressive install our fence and they did a nice job. There was confusion regarding what they thought was the left and right side of the house and where to place the fence. There is a definite communication issue between staff. We were there and able to fix any issues before they became bigger problems. You definitely need to pay attention that they don't mess up. My neighbors had their fence done about two weeks later by Progressive and I told Rob, the salesman, not to put their fence on my property. They had wanted to connect to our fence so they would not have to put a fence up down the side of their yard. I came home and found that their posts are all on my property and right against my posts. On April 21, 2021 I called Rob and he said he will talk to Walt, the manager, and it will be fixed in a week. Never happened! I called Walt and he asked for my survey and agreed it was on my property. So now I have two staff members saying it is on my property. After 4 weeks of phone calls and we will fix it this week I finally spoke with Mike, the owner. He tells me that it probably isn't on my property. Then tells me he never heard that the permit says it needs to be 6 inches in on your property. Wow! The owner doesn't even know what the permits and towns put out. I explained I have property markers so I know exactly where my property lines are. He says he will come out the next day to look himself. Guess who never showed up again?! Overall, be very careful with this company. They are quick to ask for payments but obviously don't care about their customers. Maybe next week someone will fix the issue since that is all they ever say. If you use them, be sure to be home so you can ensure it is done correctly. read more

I'd be very careful before signing on with Progressive, starting with the quote. Make sure to walk through with your sales rep. I did not and that's my fault. Since I asked for a quote on a 50' back fence and side gate (and was told I didn't need to be on-site), I thought that was what was quoted when we accpted their bid. Not so. The (confusing) quote was only for the gate. We were told it would be 12 weeks before they could start so, we put down 50% and waited. No calls from Progressive during that time and when I called after 12 weeks, they would not commit to putting us on the schedule. Called a month later with same results. Finally after 5 months they installed the side gate and did a nice job. When asked about the fence, the sales rep claimed this was the 1st time he heard about it. With the fence, their quote would be far more expensive than others. Had I know about their overall lack of commitment and communication (they never mentioned permit; you'll need to get your own), there's no way I would have hired them. Now getting quotes for the fence. read more

I am so glad that I went with Progressive Fence! I called three other companies, shopping around - and they just made me feel as if I were a sales number. Rob at Progressive spent the time to show me different solutions (I had never realized there were any), and when it came time to complete the job - here, on time. It took a couple of days to complete the job, but I tell you they did a heck of a job. Very unhappy with my fence installation. Posts were put in crooked, scuffs and dents plagued almost every section like the fence order had fallen off the truck during delivery. My gate doesn't even open anymore and it's only been a month!! Trying to call them to come out and fix everything has seemed to be the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I keep getting "you must have done that because we didn't" and the only people that live at my home is my 78 Yr. Old mother and myself. The company started out very well with me but now I would not recommend them to anyone. I had called so many times i just got sick and tired of trying so I had to hire another local fencing company to fix everything. $1600 later and 2 days of work, everything now looks good. I hope this helps someone from making a VERY EXPENSIVE mistake like my mother and I have made. God bless the young man who came immediately to fix this mess. read more
