The menu is very diverse and loaded with all sorts of goodies but if you ask, there are usually even a few items that are available off menu. Shhhh you didn't hear that from me!!! They have recently extended their hours which makes it even better so don't miss this place!! You will not regret eating here. I think my favorite is probably the ribs but I have several favorites here so try it all!!! You won't be sorry!! The service is great too. Your order comes out pretty fast so if you are in a hurry you don't have to worry about being late getting back to work. I'm Texas everything is big. That was the size of the portions they served. I'm glad I got a one meat plate. It was a 3/4 inch thick slice of wonderfully juicy brisket that was bigger than my hand and my stomach. My only complaint if it's a complaint is that there's only one sauce to be had. Not overly sweet or spicy ok flavor. I'm just used to having at least 3 or 4 different flavors of sauce. Still.... come hungry and leave full it's well worth the trip. read more

I love the variety and the meats are delicious, I was disappointed that the fries were not as fresh as I had when I came and there were picnic tables outside, I ordered a side of okra and those also had been under the heat lamp, just wasn't the same freshness I expected. For just under $22 I had a gigantic piece of brisket and and big size jalapeño sausage link. It also came with a side (pinto beans was my choice) and a drink. Everything was great. Brisket melts in your mouth and the beans had bits of onions, jalapeños and bacon in them and were so full of flavor. Sausage had the right amount of spice and tons of flavorful cheese. The only downside of this place are the hours, but if you have a chance to go try it you will be doing yourself a favor. In my opinion is the best BBQ in Midland or Odessa. read more

Perfect place for families with young kids who need to get some energy out. The corn hole area is perfect for them to run around while parents get to relax. Food was very good but this review is mostly about the staff. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. They accidentally double charged us for something but it was just $1 so I didn't say anything and the manager came out several times to check on us, insisted on refunding me and even offered us dessert for a $1 mistake. I got the slammer today and not only is the management/employees incredible I don't even know where to start with how AMAZING the food is. First, the slammer is a plate of this incredible green chili Mac and cheese (to die for btw!) topped with fine chopped beef, home made pickles purple onions, and a jap popper, and crazy good bbq sauce! A neat little gem tucked away in an unusual spot. I work at an airport near this yummy place, I drove by it for awhile and decided to try it out. I am glad I did. Tried the chopped beef sandwich with fries. It was ALOT of sandwich, it's a little pricey so getting that much was worth it. The meat was very flavorful and the bbq sauce was already on it, still dipped it in more though because it was tasty bbq sauce. It didn't take long to get the food at all, and aside from the guy in front of me that took forever, ordering was super fast also. I went at the tail end of the lunch crowd , so it could have been a tad slower earlier but I think they have a pretty good set up so the wait isn't long anytime. I want to try the ribs and some other items soon. Working so close I will definitely be back soon. Probably the best bbq I have had in a long time. I can't wait to try the steaks from their other store The Midland Meat Company, but for now the Half Acre will be my go to for delicious bbq for a quick work lunch....or anytime for that matter!
