    Allied Overhead Door - untitled

Last fall, the wire cable kept slipping off one side of our single car door. Allied came out and…read moregot it fixed, and told me that all the rollers needed to be replaced. Since this door wasn't used in the winter months, it wasn't an issue until the spring when it happened again. I called Allied, and they couldn't find any record of doing work at my location. OK, but I still need it fixed. Can't get to it until next week. OK let me know. A week goes by, no Allied. Call and leave a message, no Allied. Call the next day, and the lady answering the phone hangs up on me without a word. Call another company, they fix it no problem, and no word about the rollers. An odd experience for sure. Have no clue why they hung up on me, or never called me back.

We spent nearly $1300 on openers with this company. The communication with this company is…read moreextremely poor. We had to call 4 separate times to get quotes, written quotes, and a scheduled appointment. The person who typically answers the phone was never able to help us with anything but saying that someone would call us back. When the installers arrived they were on time but not friendly. It was then we found out the installers didn't run wiring. I realize electricians have to do the actual connections for regular voltage but they didn't RUN the wire either. There wasn't enough wire to even reach. By law they can connect low voltage wires but refused to. The emergency release on the door wasn't long enough to be reached. The reason they are a lower price than competitors is because they don't do everything the competitors do. What we paid for was the openers, remotes, and bolting the opener to the ceiling.

We had an 18 ft garage door installed. Not having a long trailer, I was unable to do that, so he had to get them. Ok great. I come home from work to find my garage door not centered in the front of my garage. Literally set off further to one side. Alright. Instead of using new lumber to mount the garage door opener onto, they dug through my scrap wood pile and used old 2x4s from a fence I tore down. At least he took the nails out first. Whatever, garage doors now installed and working. They take off and left they're entire pile of garbage in my driveway! Ok, guess I'll just clean this up for you guys. No trim work was done, which I said I could handle myself and not to worry about it. Less then a year later, the top 2 panels for the door buckle out. Well, the opener was pushing too hard on the door when closed. Kieth came out to look at it and swore that I closed the door onto something, causing the buckle. Nope. I never did that! Don't call me a liar! Well, Kieth said it needed more struts installed and that wasn't anything he stocked for an 18ft door, but if he ever got some in he would bring them over. Winter was approaching and no struts where supplied. I ended up ordering my own for $275 and installing them. Fast forward to Oct 2023, just over 2 years after original install. I'm leaving the house Sunday morning and the door binds up cock-eyed while closing. The cable came unspooled on one side. I had it inspected and the gentleman informed me that the door wasn't installed correctly. I looked and the tracks were secured with 1 screw on the ends causing them to twist. After emailing, calling and leaving a voice mail, I finally got a hold of Kieth again and was shocked that he was short with me and I wasn't even schedule for repair. At this point my garage door has been stuck open for 4 days and 3 nights. Glad we had that late October snow right before Halloween to blow in. Perfect. What a monkey show. Never ever again.

Therefore, when…read moreI needed a service call recently, I contacted Rise and Shine and was able to get someone to come out the very next morning. Rise and Shine took care of my issue and I started to discuss my old, very loud, chain driven garage door opener. The repair person was Dan Deluka, who after the service call, took the time to update me on the advancement of garage door openers in the last 20 years (the age of my opener) and what I would gain by replacing my old, noisy opener. I want to stress that I was one who asked to be educated; it was not a case of Dan trying to sell me an opener after the service call for the door. Dan did a great job of explaining the options and the improvements made since my old opener was installed. In the end, I decided upon a model. Dan was able to install it in a very short amount of time and I was completely satisfied with both the product and the installation. I have found that, although Rise and Shine isn't the least expensive option, it's a company that stands behind their products and services. This means a lot and it's the type of integrity and customer service that is very rare these days. I confidently recommend this company and the management that runs the company.
