The woman at the "cafe" counter was super sweet and the iced Chai drink I got was SO good and in such a cute cup! It's nice to see it's grown into a bigger store and inviting inside! I do wish they had more selection of body oils, I'd say one is a really good scent! The candle selection is great but mine didn't smell much when I lit it in my tiny bathroom! Even when I walked in, it barely had a scent...which is disappointing since it smelled good in the store. My friend and I were walking on the trail and entered Roseburg center. We saw the store and that there was a coffee shop attached so we decided to try it out. It's really cute inside. We ordered coffee from the girl behind the counter. I even tipped her, yet she refused to bring us our drinks. Considering we were the only ones in there, and she got a tip, and had really nothing else to do except play on her phone, I thought it was in poor taste. Not only that, there was no greeting, no enthusiasm, just so lacking any kind of enthusiasm that would make us want to come back. On the plus side, the coffee was good. While we were there, a few customers came in and got coffee to go. The other part of the store is of course the aroma part. They had it blocked off so we could not look around as it was before 10 o'clock. A girl came in who had been in a candlemaking class over the weekend. She must have been told when to come back to pick up her candles, so she drove all the way up from Turlock to come get them. Another worker came out from the back and said that they weren't ready, they were the last two she needed to finish and that would take an hour to finish up smoothing out the tops, or the girl could take them right then and there so she wouldn't have to come back. My friend and I both thought it was in poor taste not to say, hey I'm sorry, if you want to wait while I finish it we can give you a coffee or here's a complementary candle or something because she was obviously told when she could come back to pick up her candles and then they weren't ready for her. I have purchased the mobaak candles in the local grocery stores, and I've enjoyed them, but if this is what their customer service is like, I'm not sure if that is really how they want the brand represented. The customer didn't wanna come back so she just took her candles and left while the worker just went into the office. My friend and I liked the setup of the place and had thought it would be a fun place to do a candlemaking class, but if that's how they treat their customers, then there's other places we can go. I don't know anyone who doesn't love Mobaak! The vibe is cool and the products are high quality. Anyone can buy a candle or home fragrance item from other places, but you get what you pay for. Mobaak candles last a long time, they make my home smell nice for the entire life of their products and they feel clean. I don't get that smoky residue on the glass jars like you do with some other lower quality wax candle. Recently, we did a 'pour our own candle' session and it was so much fun! We were guided expertly through the whole process. Each of us got to choose the fragrance, ranging from a single fragrance to a mix and match to design our own custom scent. We had a great time. There is even the fun of the anticipation of picking the candle up after it set, to smell the final result. Modesto is lucky to have such a high quality, home fragrance store. Sorry, but twice I have been to Ace hardware with hubby and first time I bought sprays, sprays I thought I could lightly spry on comforters, sofa etc. just to freshen up. I realized before I used on things they were very oily. I instead poured them to my dried up diffusers. Works well. I today went to Ace again, and found this small bottle sealed of course of Moroccan Rose "everything spray". So I purchased. I could not check it at store if it was oily, however I thought oh this must be the spray that's good everywhere. It's oily. again, I'm glad I did not spray on anything. It's too oily. I absolutely love it here. I don't know why some people had bad experiences. I never had, every time I walk in the ladies at the front desk greet me with a smile. The product is excellent and smells amazing. I stopped buying products from Bath and Body Works because it's poisonous to your respiratory system. The candles are full of chemicals! We went with a group of ladies to make candles today. I would not recommend it. It was expensive and rushed. So much so that the girl working there dumped the oils into one of our candles to speed things along. The scent did not match the number of the candle my daughter ordered and when she questioned it she was told "too bad. It's to late I already poured it. There is nothing you can do about it. " Even though it was not yet added to the candle. The session also included a charcuterie cup and a 4oz watered down lemonade drink. I ordered some products via the website and paid for priority shipping. Once you choose priority shipping and enter in your credit card info on the next screen it states that fullfillment is 3-5 days- if that's true why make priority shipping an option? I spoke to the owner who called me back after I left a message with her staff. I had told them I felt that the website was dishonest and all I asked for was a refund on my shipping ($9) since it said I was going to get it in 2 days and that clearly was not going to happen. Once the owner called me back I was shocked. She was unkind and seemed to be very defensive. She would hardly let me speak. She kept saying "I'll give you a full refund."- which led me to feel as though she didn't even want my business, so after much thought I cancelled my order. As much as I love this shoppe's products, I just can't support a business who treats their customers with such disrespect. * UPDATE* The owner had responded below so I wanted to further expand on her response. If you are unable to fulfill and deliver orders within the 1-2 day frame- THEN DON'T LIST IT AS AN OPTION. It's that simple. Instead it should say 3-7 business days (which would include fullfillment time.) The reason I cancelled my order is because of the way you spoke to meon the phone. You came for me because I said your website was dishonest- as a business owner you need to learn to take criticism from all customers- good or bad. We really wanted to like this store, it's cute, and we genuinely liked the oils. Unfortunately, upon arrival the customer service was not great, the young lady working there didn't even smile when we walked in. My Wife spent well over $100 She bought a reed diffuser, a oil diffuser, oil and later returned that day to buy more product. That same day, the oil diffuser stopped working, we called the next day asking to exchange the diffuser and was told that If we have the receipt it would not be a problem, 10 minutes later my wife got a call back from the employee stating that we would need to deal with the manufacturers warranty directly and that they could not exchange it. Huh? Normally, if you want to keep your customers happy especially after spending so much money at the store, it wouldn't be an issue to exchange because you would want us to keep buying your products. I called and kindly offered to leave my number so I could speak to the manager/owner directly and was told no. One would think you would want to give your customers the best customer experience so they keep coming back and tell all there friends. read more

I ordered a candle roughly a week and a half ago paid for shipping $15 never received a confirmation tracking which email confirmation told me I would. I reached out requested tracking. Mine to tell you I live in Manteca 15 minutes away from Modesto looking at my tracking. Looks like my candles were sent to Sacramento. Alabama couple other states. That shows me most likely my candles are never going to reach to me. I reached out to the operations manager according to her her name was Alisha. She basically told me in a nutshell that she would follow up with USPS but this is usps problem. The fact that I paid $15 to their company for priority shipping is USPS problem not only that I would have to wait for a full Confirmation that the package was lost before they offer me a reimbursement or to get me my Mother's Day present . They sure did charge my cards really quickly the $120. I've yet still to receive my package but yet they have still held my money. I even offered to go pick up the candles myself and deliver them back the ones if they ever show up to my house. Unfortunately, according to them, this is a USPS problem and I guess im out $120. This is horrible customer service. I would never treat a paying customer this way or ever make them pay for a product they still have yet to receive. I would've offered them a reimbursement and I would've made sure that they got their package and then I would've went and dealt with USPS myself. This is the company that they choose to ship their product out of so they should standby it. read more

I've been shopping there for about a year. I never loved their product, but I like to support local for gifts. I'm not sure what changed recently, but the last few times I went (all within the span of a month or so), the woman working was someone I've never seen and she was just rude. The kind of rude that sticks with you for the rest of the day because you couldn't figure out what you did wrong to deserve it. There was a younger worker who was lovely, but the older one (long dark wavy hair, looked like she wants to be an instagram model) shouldn't be in customer service. This worker cut me off multiple times, acted like I was doing something wrong, I felt really unwelcome and judged. I shrugged it off the first two times, but it seems like that lady is there to stay. So to whoever is in charge, this worker desperately needs customer service training. The product you sell is too expensive/inadequate to get away with treating customers like that. read more

I love Mobaak! You can smell the freshness from a mile away, but it's not overpowering at all! Their fragrances are very unique and refreshing, making my home feel more cozy and welcoming. I come here to restock on candles and body oils. They have great scents for all seasons of the year, but am loyal to their Palo Santo fragrance. I hope they make the Neroli+Primrose Jasmine mist in candle soon. Their ingredients are completely safe. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
