Clean, they actually were clean, smelled nice and get this - had a "door handle tissue". If you are like me, germ conscientious, you use paper towels after you wash your shands to open the doors. The tire was low on my rental and I didn't see an air pump. I asked the lady inside (sorry I didn't catch her name but she was wearing a cat t-shirt) about an air pump. She volunteered to pump up my tires from the pump in the garage. The place looks like a bit of a dive, not like the photos in the review, but it's the dives that still have people that go that extra bit. The young man working there tonight was friendly and very helpful. He opened a fresh carton of milk for me from the refrigerator to put in my coffee. I appreciated that a lot! The store also sells real maple syrup.
