It really pains me to write a bad review. But this one is for the PEOPLE. So it's technically for good ... I paid and watched the numbers turn and received ZERO diesel.. My boyfriend and I were driving the 5 and needed gas. Stopped here. Paid cash (40$) and got diesel at pump 11. We watched the numbers turning on the gallons and the price. It topped off at 8 gallons. When we turned the car on the odometer never changed. We figured it was the car seeing as we both saw with our own eyes and heard something that sounded like diesel being dispensed... well the odometer never changed. So when we drove a couple more hours we got off and stoped the car to see if it would change after turning it back on. It did not. We went to the gas station and put 80$ in which means we had received ZERO diesel... never in my 26 years of living have I heard of this happening. I then googled it and read that this has happened to people when the economy got hit and gas prices sky rocketed... seems suspicious. We tried calling back but the guy couldn't really help us. He was very kind though and did seem surprised. I haven't had this problem before but it really makes you think about if you're getting what you paid for. Went here on our way to the coast from the Central Valley. I bought two icees from the machine and it awful! It tasted as if the machine had not been cleaned in quite some time. In fact, I recall seeing the machine with an advisory stating that the machine needed to be cleaned today, but who knows how it has been there. But here's the kicker. I called to let know about the issue just to suggest to maybe take a look at the machine. The attendant who was a young woman was condescending and rude and just replied,"Ok" with no sense or accountability. I had to clearly state to her that it would behoove them to check the machine out. I doubt they will. My advise for Lee, who appeared to be the head attendant at the time, is take better care of your store. read more

I woke up on our long road trip needing to use the bathroom. I saw a sign that said the bathroom was for customers only and I was planning on grabbing snacks anyways, but it was an emergency so I headed to the bathroom first. I was perfectly happy to purchase something in order to use the bathroom, however the way that the woman spoke to me had me immediately turn around and find another place to go. She didn't look at me and as she walked past and informed me with disgust in her voice, that the bathrooms were for customers only. What she said was fine, but the way she said it was so rude! I get a sense that this gas station charges more than market value for gasoline given the location and situation (for those who need gas, they'll have to pay anything to get going on their way). On 05/11/15, I paid $4.30 per gallon of regular gasoline. In San Francisco, the prevailing average price was just under $4.00 per gallon, so it was about nearly 10% higher here. I used a credit card, which I think may also have been the culprit of the jacked up rate too. But, if you're looking at buying 10 gallons and need fuel, that's only a difference of paying $3 more, and at that point out of necessity and desperation you'll have nearly no other option but to suck it up and just pay whatever they ask. There are neighboring competing gas stations in the surrounding area. I think if you use the "Waze" app on your cell phone, you can access the local gas stations pricing through the viral user updates posted, so can actually price compare from the parking lot of the Bravo Farms area to figure out the best price. Overall, I don't think this is a bad gas station per se, just think the pricing is a bit high. The service was self service, so I'll give myself * * * * * 5 Stars for service, as I pumped the gas with excellence of execution and professionalism if I may say so and pat myself on the back... There is a convenience store inside, but I don't know about the pricing there. If you plan your trip properly, you need not come here for gas and complain about the prices, and can just enjoy Kettleman City, Bravo Farms and the area without sweating. BUT... if you do need gas, there's not many stations in the surrounding area, and if you run out of gas, the time and money of having to call AAA or a Tow Service will have you kicking yourself for being penny wise and pound foolish for passing on the opportunity to be prepared n' fuel up over the rates and get you going where you need to be quickly, conveniently and safely. read more

Wow, read horrible reviews from everyone. Good thing it wasn't a horrible experience for me. It was my first time driving from SoCal to NorCal and I used this as a restroom/gas stop. Not bad at all. Problem was that I'm not a frequent Mobil user so I had no idea that the price listed was for CASH only. Turns out, cc is 11 cents more per gallon. I quickly canceled my card and went in to put cash down. Restroom was alright, not as disgusting as how everyone made it to be. Perhaps they read the reviews and decided to tidy up. This place is DISGUSTING!!!!! Bathrooms here are completely unsanitary. There was no soap in the men's room. So I went to the front desk clerk and asked if there was any hand soap or hand sanitizer that she could place in the bathroom and she tried to sell me a bottle of hand sanitizer. I responded by telling her she is obligated to provide sanitation to their customers. And she just shrugged and said, "Sorry, someone stole the soap off the wall." There's no excuse to be this unsanitary. The business owner needs to know the young lady with short brown hair at the front did not do the right thing. So everybody in Kettleman City has the same price, so I stop at Mobil cuz it's first as we're leaving Carl's Jr. and my wife has a Mobil card. It says something like $.02 per gallon or some decent price. So I start filling up and notice it's charging me $22.76 per gallon, or some ridiculous price nowhere close to what's posted on the light board. WTF? So I do a little investigating and find a little unlighted placard half buried under the light board with the real prices displayed. Hmm, different prices for cash, credit, short people, driving poodles, etc. I guess, but it's still deceptive chickenshit in my book. On my return trip, I find Chevron doing the same thing at the Hwy. 46 raststätte, so they get the same review and rating. Apparently, when travelling up and down the 5 it's important that you slam on the brakes, and zip back and forth between competing stations, cutting off truckers and fellow travellers, probably injuring children in the process, to make sure you can evaluate and compare everyones microboard of truth. read more

Absolutely agree with Dan H. This Mobil station deserves a 1 star for sure! Here is my rationale: 1. Large sign stating that they have "Clean Bathrooms Inside". What a lie! I would have taken a picture, but take my word for it, in the men's room has toilets that overflow when flushed and a VERY poorly built extension to the bathroom. If you dare enter, you'll see. 2. Yes, the cash vs. credit prices. Sneaky yes...not sure if they always did this in Kettleman City, but it adds at least 15 cents per gallon from what I remember. 3. Lots of handwritten signs. Yes, strange for a name brand gas station, but even the signs labeling the prices for different sizes of soda are handwritten on an piece of paper... If you want CLEAN bathrooms, go across the street to the Jack in the Box. Yes, seriously, it is not crowded (like the McDonalds and In-n-Out) and the restaurant was recently remodeled and the bathrooms are sparkling clean...see my review...coming soon. I came here for gas because the prices (as listed) were a couple cents cheaper than the Shell and Chevron just a little ways up the street, and I was already at the Starbucks next door anyway. Little did I know, the prices on the sign were WRONG, and instead of paying $3.85 per gallon, I paid a WHOPPING $4.........that's not even close!! If it were just a little bit off, I'd shrug it off, but that's quite a large discrepancy in my opinion (on top of the premium that all the gas stations in this area charge). HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! On our way to Fresno and we decided to stop for coffee and some snacks. As soon as we walked in, the cashier didn't even acknowledge we walked in and she was chatting away with the UPS guy; they were LOUD! I poured myself a small cup of coffee, got a juice for my daughter, water for hubby and some snacks. Like the reviewer below, I stopped at this Mobile gas station because it's prices were low and Starbucks is next door. I have a hybrid that fills up for $20 and I had a little more than half a tank. I paid for $7 worth of gas, pumped, drove away to notice that the bars on my gauge were not registering any increase. Drove around the block past Bravo Farms and went back into the station to see the cashier who told me her computer said that gas was pumped so there was nothing she could do. I have called the manager who has not yet returned my call. Went to another station, put $8 in and tank was full. NOT HAPPY! There are other Starbucks next to better gas stations. Looks like the same story as everyone else. I drove through here on Thursday night. They weren't the cheapest price, but since they had a Starbucks on their lot, I went there. The sign posted said $4.03. I paid using CC and paid $4.03. That's the normal part. Now, on my return trip, I decided to stop there again. The pricing went up (like everyone else) and the same sign says $4.13. But this time, I was charged $4.26! I went in to ask the cashier why there was a difference. He asks "did you use credit card?" I said, "Yes, I understand that some places charge more for using credit cards, the question I am asking is why you are charging me $0.13 today (Monday), but you didn't charge me that on Thursday?" He then says "you paid cash on Thursday, right". I said "No, I used the exact same credit card." I then showed him my receipts for both transactions. That's when he gave me some attitude and said, "Well, I'm not going to give you a refund. It is what it is. There's nothing you can do about it." Then he saw that I wanted to buy some candy and said, "Well, that's going to cost you $x.xx if you still want that." Seriously? I really didn't care that much about getting back a whopping $1.50.
