I'm like everyone else. We were driving back on I-5 to the Bay Area from Los Angeles. We always…read morecheck out Yelp to see what is close by and didn't want fast food. We saw that this had very good reviews and after reading some of them we decided to stop by. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Salad and one of us in my party decided on Cilantro Lime Salad and the third member of my party wanted a club house sandwich but was told they ran out of bread so she also order a Crispy Chicken Salad too. All three salads were great. Fresh lettuce, tomatoes and all fresh produce and the chicken was crispy. My friend who ordered the Cilantro Lime Salad really enjoyed it especially the cilantro lime dressing. Overall the service was pretty good and I do like the cute interior but there were a number of flies flying around. I think its because anyone opening their door lets in flies from the outside. A recommendation for those of you driving up northbound on I-5. Don't rely on Google Maps since their directions takes you longer to get there. They tell you that from I-5 to turn off on 309 and take CA-41 to CA-33 to Kings Street. Instead go up I-5 and turn off on 269. This way is much faster unless there is a back up on i-5.

The food was fantastic. Service was quick and helpful. The menu had a good variety…read more All in all a great stop.

Stopped at Restaurante la Carreta for lunch while driving down I-5. On a hot bright summer day, the…read moreinside was nice and cool and dark, exactly what we needed. Even though there was only one person working front of house, we sat down, ordered, and got our food within 15 minutes of pulling up. While we waited for lunch to come out, we were brought a bowl of chips (thick and crispy) and one little bowl of salsa each (which was excellent, since I ate all of mine and started on my bf's before we'd finished the chips). The salsa was smooth and thin, with a nice kick to it. I got the sopes plate with asada, and my bf got a wet burrito with asada inside and salsa verde. My lunch had two sopes, plus rice and beans, and my bf's burrito, I swear I've seen smaller newborns than that thing. The asada was chopped nice and small, about the size of the tomatoes also on top, and was flavorful and chewy. The sopes themselves were hot and crunchy. While both the rice and beans were good, next time I'd just get the sopes by themselves, since the whole plate was a LOT of food. My bf said his burrito was delicious, and the salsa verde was tangy and amazing, and somehow did not make the burrito soggy at all as they sometimes can be elsewhere. He was able to eat all of it except for the last fifth, before finally admitting defeat. The mountain of food we had came to about $16 and change, and there were clearly a lot of locals eating there on their lunch break (in fact the three women at the table next to us must have called ahead, since their food was out and waiting for them before they actually got there!). A good midway point to stop between SF and LA, as it's not too far off the highway, and basically a straight shot.

We gassed up at E-Z Trip, purchased a cinnabon and I decided to get a Subway sandwich to share with my husband for lunch. The female employee was doing something with her hands going near the back with clear food service gloves on. When she approached I immediately said "Good morning!" She never looked up to give eye contact or greet me. This employee had the audacity a few minutes later when she felt like talking to say "Have you decided what you'd like to order Ma'am?" I replied "Give me a minute please I'm waiting on my husband." I walked away disgusted. The nerve of this evil, nasty female employee! 1. She has no customer service skills. 2. How nasty of her not to change her gloves before touching the station where the meats and condiments are. 3. This is how germs-diseases are spread. 4. The owner or Manager should give her a refresher course in customer service. 5. Too early in the morning for this kind of ignorant behavior...it was 10:20am. Apparently she woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I hope she gets out the opposite side tomorrow and learn to treat customers better. Thank goodness the customer service was excellent E-Z Trip!
