For some reason, the cars that pull up are always in opposite directions so that each side of the pumps has a car facing in each direction; it gets worse when cars on one side are facing towards each other and the drivers have to thread the needle through to get past each other and then avoid the next mess of cars in the other lane. Once past that, trying to get out of the lot into traffic is the next segment of the gauntlet. The station is opposite the Post Office and down the street from the A&P and Chase Bank so motorists are U-turning all over for the length of that block of road like they're at a square dance. I really need to remember to fill up when in Jersey and avoid these small dramas.

He just left it there like that. I walked to the office (hood was still up). Stood there waiting to get my bill and keys (hood still up) Mind you...it's a rainy day. This kid was negligent with my property. I don't know if me being a woman alone made that acceptable but it's not. Big or small job, it's business and you treat everyone's property and them with respect. Then after seeing my car left on with the hood up, I make them aware of it and then I paid and left. As I was driving, my USB/anti theft system was not working. Screen blank. Not only was he negligent with my property....he didn't finish the job. You have to reboot the anti theft system for that and the USB/screen controls to work. I was more than willing to tip the guy since I know they don't make much on batteries but after that experience, no. You don't just put a battery in...you need to reboot the system. Today was EXTREMELY disappointing and needless to say, I will go elsewhere from now on. Maybe give JJ a bit more training.

They showed it to me while poking it with a screwdriver, trying to open it up more. I had to tell them to stop and not damage it further. He claimed it would blow out if I drove it more than a few miles and had to get a new tire from him. I had no intention of buying new tires at a gas station, so he charged me $10 for an "inspection" and claimed he couldn't fix it. I went to a reputable tire repair shop in Harlem who had a used tire in the right size to sell me, but before they put it on, they checked the tire to see what was wrong. It turned out that the slit was not leaking air at all, but an old plug (that had been applied at the BP a few months ago) was! They repaired it and assured me that the slit would not cause a blow out and that my tire was completely fine to drive on. I returned to the BP and told them what I had learned. The tire guy refused to take responsibility for it, but the manager returned my money and said he'd speak with the owner. I really hope he does, because this is about as disreputable as it gets. I do wonder if the very clean slit in the tread was even there before they took my tire off!
