Before the service, I gave Kelly a list of everything I wanted checked and fully expected to spend a few thousand dollars getting everything done. I assumed all the fluids on my list would need to be replaced. Later that day, Kelly personally called me and explained that several of the fluids actually did not need replacement yet and because of that, he did not charge me for unnecessary work. Instead of paying thousands, my total bill came out to less than $500! I honestly cannot say enough about that level of integrity and honesty. Since we had just had some rain and my car needed cleaning, I purchased the wash while paying for my gas. After fueling up, I drove over to the car wash only to find it blocked off. I tracked down an employee, who informed me that the car wash was closed. When I asked why the station was still selling car washes when the facility wasn't operating, I was told I could simply come back tomorrow to use it. That wasn't an acceptable solution. I don't live nearby and have no intention of making a special trip back just to get a car wash. I asked for a refund, but the employee said that wasn't possible because they were closed. She then pointed out that the car wash hours were posted on a small sign near the exit. Unfortunately, a sign at the exit does nothing to warn customers before they purchase a car wash at the pump. If the car wash is closed, the pumps should not be selling car wash tickets, or customers should at least be clearly warned before completing the purchase. This experience was frustrating and left a poor impression. The cost and inconvenience of driving back exceed the value of the car wash itself. Because of how this was handled, I do not plan to return to this station.

Today I came in since my tire lost a bit of air. I asked the clerk if he had exact change for three dollars that they're asking for the air pump, which seems crazy on its own. He doesn't tell me that I get free air with pumping gas, and I had to read it on my own after I already put a dollar in the machine. The sign literally says that it's against California law to charge for air when you pump gas as well, I'd only put a dollar out of the three dollars in, I told the clerk since I'm pumping gas, can you turn on the air machine? He basically just told me no and laughed. The girl behind me in line said the same thing happened to her last time. I will be following the instructions on the sign, filing a complaint with the state of California. It's only three dollars, sure, but it's not right behavior to make an extra couple bucks after I just pumped $50 in gas.

The man continued mouthing off to other people getting gas about me at the same time. I rolled down my window and asked, "Are you talking to me?" He screamed, "Turn your car around or leave! I don't want your business! Turn your car around or leave!" I was shocked, appalled, and in disbelief. Why would anyone treat someone this way when they're simply trying to get gas? These days it's hard to find a car wash that offers great service and that's reasonably priced. I requested a basic wash and included wheels & tire shine. Upon receiving my vehicle following service, I was very pleased with the service I received. I highly recommend this place for fuel and a quick wash. The place is clean and the staff make its welcoming atmosphere. I will definitely return.

There are a number of reasons: - Ease of access / exit - the two other gas stations in the area have extremely dangerous entrances and exits. At Shell, you have the option of exiting onto a lightly traveled side road with traffic light safety to get back onto Hampshire road. - Prices are comparable or slightly better than competition in the area. Generally, I've found them to be 10-20 cents a gallon cheaper than the Mobil in town. - Great snack shop. Who doesn't get the munchies before a road trip? Great selection of beef jerky, candy, chips, bottled water, and soda. - Lottery tickets, if you're feeling lucky. - Very friendly employees Best gas station in town.

The main reason why I am giving 2 stars is the nozzles. During my past two visits, the nozzles were malfunctioning. It took some time for the gas to start pumping into my car. I don't know if the machinery is just outdated, but the pumps could use maintenance. I've never gone into the convenience store, so I cannot comment on the items or customer service. Overall, this is a decent Shell location not too far away from the 101 freeway exits, but it could use some improvements with the pumps.
