I wouldn't recommend this gas station. I had a car wash there last week and my car came out dirty. It doesn't have any wiper mechanism so it's essentially just spraying liquids they are not effective enough so I definitely wouldn't recommend. Today I came in since my tire lost a bit of air. I asked the clerk if he had exact change for three dollars that they're asking for the air pump, which seems crazy on its own. He doesn't tell me that I get free air with pumping gas, and I had to read it on my own after I already put a dollar in the machine. The sign literally says that it's against California law to charge for air when you pump gas as well, I'd only put a dollar out of the three dollars in, I told the clerk since I'm pumping gas, can you turn on the air machine? He basically just told me no and laughed. The girl behind me in line said the same thing happened to her last time. I will be following the instructions on the sign, filing a complaint with the state of California. It's only three dollars, sure, but it's not right behavior to make an extra couple bucks after I just pumped $50 in gas. read more

Pumping gas is a mundane task - but you can easily tell the locations that care for their equipment and the ones that make you feel gross touching anything. This location is the former. The facilities are immaculately kept. The rubber on the pumps is fresh and not grimy, the bathrooms are sanitised, and the food mart is well stocked and organised. Not to mention, the touchless car wash (which is better for your car's paint) works perfectly and does a thorough job. Rare gem in the gas station world. read more

hi all, fyi the chevron at the corner of hampshire and willow just refused to refund me after i paid for a $15 car wash and the car wash is not working. I was given multiple codes none of which worked. I took a photo of the machine to show him it was not working. He knows its broken and he still did not shut the car wash down. I did call TOPD but she said it was civil and she would not help me. So beware! read more

DO NOT recommend this place. Had to stop here in the middle of a long drive and because I could see it was well lit from the freeway it was an easy pick. I tried to pay at the pump with 2 different cards and it just kept saying "please see cashier". I went inside and greeted the worker kindly, only to be met with a blank stare. When I went to pay, my credit and debit kept declining. The only word the employee said to me in the whole interaction was "decline". I checked my accounts and everything was good. I proceeded to ask him if maybe it was being run wrong (I have a feeling it was). In the middle of this he turned around and started working in the corner facing away from me. I VERY politely said "excuse me sir, can you help me?" And he IGNORED ME even after I repeated myself. I told him verbatim "Well since you want to ignore me, I guess I will have to find another gas station." Still no response. So I left, went 1 minute down the street to the Sinclair and was able to fill at the pump with the same card with NO ISSUES. I even drove by on the way back and I think other people were having issues too. I worry that they have one of those fake card readers to steal information because I don't know why none of my cards would work. JUST GO TO THE SINCLAIR DOWN THE STREET (cross street sunset), this station is not worth the broken pumps and poor customer service. read more

Well, let me tell you our experience with Westlake Chevron was AMAZING. Jesus, the attendant, was as charming and welcoming as can be. And the bathroom was spotless and well stocked with seat cover, towels, toilet paper and a fresh air freshener. For a moment I thought I was in a 5 star hotel and not a gas station off of the 101. If you are in the area and need to stop for gas, refreshments and snacks, check this place out. You won't be disappointed. read more

I've come here several times for both gas and car washes. The station is located right off the 101. There are two entrances to get in and out. The pumps are neatly arranged and very up to date; I never have any issues with the nozzles. As mentioned in other reviews, the area is quite difficult to navigate through with large vehicles like RVs. Honestly, the main reason I come to this location is for the car wash. It is not the best one around, but it is quite affordable. There is never a long line for it. It washes my car alright though some of the windows do not get properly dried. I suppose you get what you pay for. Also, there is very limited parking in front of the convenience store. While I have not looked inside properly, it always appears clean and well organized. Overall, this gas station offers decently priced gas and affordable car wash services (though the latter could use improvement). read more

My Favorite Chevron Station! I've been a loyal customer of Fred's for over 5 years and with good reason. He runs a good business and is a great guy.[1] Originally, Fred's gas station had a mechanic on-duty who did a fair amount of work on our vehicles, including the Honda, the Nissan, the Ford, & the Jaguar.[2] Fred then demo'd the entire structure and designed & built his new Westlake Chevron with multiple pumps, mini-mart, & carwash. Healthy people unite !!! Okay, so the stars are for the inventory of the convenience store, not necessarily the gas or car wash. The options of quick items to buy here is great! There is a whole aisle dedicated to HEALTHY and HIGH PROTEIN items such as Quest Bars, Quest Chips, Buff Bakes Protein Cookies, ONE Bars, etc Anyone who is dieting or just trying to eat healthy knows that it is extremely difficult to be healthy on the go. This gas station has so many options and is always my go to place on my way to work. They also have pretty much the full line of Starbucks canned drinks (including the hard to find protein version). I get gas here pretty frequently since it is conveniently right off of the freeway. If you are coming southbound on the 101 it is literally right off of the exit turn. Gas is decently priced here, and I have tried the car wash once or twice. Car wash isn't anything spectacular, however it is very easy. Just make sure to pay inside, the machine doesn't take cash or cards- just a code. Anyhow, pretty good gas station. Always purchasing quick snacks here, I definitely appreciate their stock of healthier options. read more

This is a pretty good carwash, though not inexpensive. They wanted $75 for a wash and wax job which soon came down to $65, but isn't competitive with my favorite spot in Santa Monica. However, I sprung for the $21.95 version ($2 more for a SUV) and they did far more than I expected including removing some pine tree drippings from a very dirty car. Located on the corner of Hampshire and Foothill, this Chevron has been my favorite because: 1) 24 hours 2) Good gas prices 3) Friendly 4) Clean They earned their 5th star yesterday after I was biking home from work and got thrown off my bike a couple feet landing pretty much in their drive way, Fred and another bystander came to my rescue. Moving my bike out of the street and helping me up, he welcomed me to their restroom to wipe off the cement from my face. After making a string of phone calls, I realized I had to walk home (there was no way I was getting back on the saddle as stunned as I was), so Fred kindly watched my bike for me, while I made my way home and waited for Kieran to get back in. Kieran went to pick up my bike and told me that he was asking how I was. What a kind man! I will from this point on fill my tank up here... they have my loyalties!! read more

I use this car-wash when I don't have time to get a real wash. It's okay, to say the least. The car-wash itself doesn't make contact with your vehicle which is awesome, but it also doesn't get everything off the car. Especially if your car is pretty filthy, don't expect a shiny car. The blow dryers are okay... not the traditional type. I like the idea of what they're trying to achieve but it's not fine tuned yet. Excited to see what's to come in future carwashes! read more

Car wash is pretty bad, and you're left with water stains particularly on the sides of the car. However I'm more disappointed by the management and how they treat their customers. Battery died in the middle of the car wash and I promptly called AAA to have my car moved, but the owner persisted on giving me a hard time saying he lost two car washes because of me and that I should buy his jumper cables because of it. Very rude in my opinion considering I was a customer. My family and I will not be supporting this station anymore. read more

I've been going to this Chevron off an on for the last few years since they are conveniently adjacent to the Hampshire exit of the southbound 101. Yesterday I stopped there to fill my cars tank with gas and I went ahead and ran my credit card at pump number one. Within minutes of me starting the pumping process I received a text message from my bank advising me that a charge for $126.00 was being posted against my account even though I only purchased $62.42 of gasoline which also ended up being posted to my account. I went inside the station and I asked the attendant about the charge and he had no clue as to what I was talking about. Needless to say I called my bank and they informed me that it was this stations and/or Chevrons policy to request a pre authorization for $126.00 prior to allowing the pump to dispense gasoline. What I found most disturbing about the charge is that the pre authorization is held against your account for 5 business days. Going forwards if I was ever to use this station and/or a Chevron again I will walk into the station and ask for a specific amount of gasoline vs. paying at the pump. read more

Worst carwash ever! I guess I'm glad it didn't actually damage my car but I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this car wash to anyone. I have a black car that had an even layer of dustiness all over it but wasn't extremely dirty. After the wash, The majority of the car was equally as dirty as it had been before the wash (I don't see how that's even possible) and in addition the dryer portion of the wash didn't dry my car so it's actually more dirty now after the wash than before due to water spots all over. I didn't get out of my car at the gas station because I assumed that, while wet, it would be clean. By the time I got out of my car at a shopping center 5 minutes later I realized how filthy my car still was. I am upset that I spent $10 to get the upgraded wash and that my car is dirtier now than it was before the wash. I should've just saved my money and saved the water and had a cleaner dirty car without the wash. read more

So impressed with the foodmart/mini-pharmacy/convenience store....I'm not even sure how to fully describe the menajerie of helpful and useful things available in this place. I wound up wasting time just looking through all the available items. I usually pick up 1 or 2 healthy snacks from a gas station when I can find them, and this place had a great selection of them. Of course they also had the usual not-so-healthy but yummy snacks, but those I reserve for road trips. The Carwash also worked great, I usually worry about how good a job the automated washes do on my van, but this one really got the job done! read more
