So, I reached out to a bunch of local tech repair businesses - Jack of Fix 'N Repair responded immediately, but I wanted to wait for more quotes so I could compare... well, 7 other business responses later, it turned out that not only was this place the fastest to respond, but they also gave the quickest turnaround time estimate (30-45 mins vs. 2-48 hrs) and the most competitive price ($20-50 lower than all the others). I went in the next day and was fully expecting to be told the iPad needed to be left there overnight (there were several others customers queued) and that there were other fees in addition to the quote... but nope! Every estimate was accurate: my iPad was returned to me within 30-45 mins with a flawless screen and no hidden charges. They exceeded every expectation on all fronts - the next time I smash a device, I'm going straight there. Also, HUGE shout-out to Matt, the one who did the repairs! I reached out during business hours and got a response immediately! I really liked that they asked how to contact - via call, text, or email. I needed my iPad, 9th gen fixed. It was quoted at $119 (+tax). I opted for the come to you service. It said online they have a van and do the repairs that way, however they reached out to see if I was okay with a pick up/drop off instead. That made no difference to me. They were very communicative throughout the process. It was very easy to schedule an appointment and I was able to have them complete repairs the next day! They did a great job with the repair - it looks brand new and you can't tell that there was an accident in the first place! They also asked if I wanted to add a screen protector which I appreciated as I would prefer not to break my screen again. They charged $20 for the protector and application, which I thought was reasonable and worth it for me not to have to mess with putting it on myself. My family and I contacted Thornton Electronics to repair a refrigerator for my elderly parents (70+). Ryan responded and scheduled a consultation. Upon inspection, he stated that the fridge was not getting cold because the control board was not working and that replacing it would resolve the issue. Ryan provided no timeline for when the part would arrive or be replaced. After three weeks of waiting and several follow-up phone calls, Ryan returned and installed the control board. After paying a hefty sum of over $300 for the consultation, a used part, and labor, Ryan said the refrigerator would take 24 hours to get cold again. When the refrigerator did not get cold after 24 hours, we contacted Ryan again, who stated there must be a problem with the compressor. He told us he would order a new compressor and come install it for an additional $400. We hesitated on spending the additional money, but Ryan assured us that this would fix the problem. Ryan arrived onsite, replaced the compressor for the additional $400, and said the refrigerator would work in 24 hours. Once again, 24 hours passed, and the refrigerator did not work. After spending $700 on repairs--half the cost of a new refrigerator--we still did not have a working appliance. Ryan assured us he would file an insurance claim, and that they would cover the cost of a replacement refrigerator because he was unable to fix it. After several weeks of contacting Ryan and his insurance company, we found out that his insurance would not cover any of the repair, labor, or replacement costs. I originally made an appointment through Verizon and then called the store and the store advised that Verizon doesn't actually communicate with them so best to call them directly. Second time was this week (new phone) for back cover replacement due to non-functional power button, again staff was very helpful and answered all my questions, they estimated 48 hours for repairs, I checked in a few hours before the 48 hour mark, got a nonspecific response, then a notification within the hour that the phone was ready. Overall good experiences and would highly recommend uBreakiFix for phone repairs as overall both experiences were positive and the work was completed in estimated time frame and no further issues with phone.
