Additionally, the old incandescent lights which lit up the dial window weren't working as they shouls. The repair was made in September 2019. It was done in relatively very good time (considering he is a one man operation with plenty of work, apparently) and also Kevin replaced the old dial indicator lightbulbs with LED's. Receiver works perfectly after more than two years since the repairs were made. I couldn't be happier.

After removing the cover and opening the unit up I was horrified to see the shoddy soldering hack job that was done on my valuable unit. He screwed up my right side amp, the cleaning he charged for didn't happen, he didn't replace any of the common caps that a forty year old Marantz needs. I was ripped off and knew it, I'd learn and do it myself before I ever called this thief again. Beware ....THIS BUSINESS IS INCOPETA NT!!

He called me and told me to pick it up, and told me to set it up at home, and see if it occurs again. . When it did, I called him. For $50 I got a house call, an expert repair job, a new battery better than the original, and a friendly guy who impressed me with his knowledge and sociability as well as his enterprise, ambition and work ethic - and with 5 kids (I think he said) all that helps. He wore a mask, took off his shoes, sat at our dining room table and went to work. Maybe 20 minutes or so I had my phone back, and paid with a credit card. Couldn't have been easier. Our devices are really reliable these days, and I've been able to fix many of what few problems they've had (like I can throw a laptop from my recliner right thru the open window into the trash can with one arm!), but one thing I won't do is try to open an iphone, so I'm glad Elliott's available for those times when I throw my shoulder out.
