The ignition key for our 2007 Honda Odyssey suddenly became very difficult to insert into the cylinder. After a lot of extra pushing and jiggling you could barely get it in place to start the engine. Then when trying to remove the key after shutting off the engine, the key would not release - you really had to pull and jiggle it to get it out of the ignition - it was very strange! We had three keys and all of them had the same problem. The first number I called for our area turned out to be some sort of national outfit that refers your call to a local locksmith, but was told "no services are provided in your area"! Then I called MOBILE LOCK AND SECURITY in Nekoosa and spoke with Earl, who was very professional, very informative. He listened to the issue and suggested having them try to troubleshoot the problem - I could either bring the vehicle to them or they would make a house call (which would add to the overall cost). Since it was still drivable, I made an appointment to drive to the shop in Nekoosa. Earl met me at my car when I got there and began evaluating the situation. His diagnosis after 5 minutes of working with the key in the ignition was that one or more of the spring-loaded "wafers" in the cylinder was likely damaged and would need disassembly to repair it, or worst case - replace and reprogram the cylinder. To make a long story shorter, working together, Bill and Earl were able to remove and repair the cylinder (it turned out to be one of the wafers after all). During the process, they removed the car's steering column shroud and ignition, and then reassembled it (and had it all working perfectly again) within less than 2 hours. These guys know their craft and perform their work efficiently and do it in friendly way. I gladly wrote the check for their services and highly recommend them to anyone needing their expertise. read more

We've been Mobile Lock and Security for over 20 years to secure our lake house on Lake Arrowhead, WI. Bill is always very responsive and takes good care of our alarm and monitoring systems. We've recently decided to upgrade our system (since our old system is getting on in years!). Bill is accommodating to our absentee owner schedules, and is quick to return a call on weekends and evenings. We needed to access documents in our old safe, and the dial and what we thought was the combination wouldn't work. We called Mobile Lock & Security and they were able to come to our home the next day. Bill Jr. was able to drill through the door to open it, after trying many different combination possibilities. He then serviced the dial and set a new combination, so now our 46 year old safe is as good as new. We thought we would have to destroy it to get into it. I live in California and came back to Wisconsin Rapids for my daughters wedding in mid-September. We drove our 2010 Acadia from California to Wisconsin Rapids. The day after the wedding, which was a Sunday, we were cleaning up the hall where the wedding was held. While using my car key as a screwdriver, I broke the end of the key off(smart decision). I could open the car and start it without the key, using the fob, but, because the key was broken off it wouldn't unlock the steering column. There were only 2 lock shops listed on the web and 1 of those was out of the area. I left a message with Mobile and the owner called me back shortly after. Long story short, he was able to make 2 new keys for me and also program them because they were chip keys and they worked perfectly. He did this all on a Sunday afternoon, taking him away from home. He charged me a very minimal price, I couldn't buy a replacement key in Cal. for what he charged to do everything. He is a great guy, not out to scam anyone or take advantage of situations we get ourselves in to. I would highly recommend him to anyone that needs help. While visiting friends at their cottage I accidentally bumped the lock button on my car and locked keys in my car when getting ready to leaver (oops, what a dummy I was). So, I looked up a lock smith in the area and found Mobile Lock and security. I can't remember the guys name, I believe it was the owner, and he answered the phone right away and was cheerful and in great humor. A great guy when you are a little stressed out over doing a bone head move. Anyway, he said he could be to the location where the car was in 45 minutes and he arrived in 35 mins, opened the car in 5 mins and was on his way. The cost was minimal and he was a cheerful and friendly guy and was no nonsense with the work. I would HIGHLY recommend these guys if you get in a pinch. read more
