It pains me to write this review. Mr. coppens is a very nice man…read more I picked Coppens because of the good reviews, only one negative review and he was willing to come to the house for a very reasonable fee. That cinched my decision! As soon as he arrived and tried to pry open the back of my computer, I suggested he take the screws out first. That should have been my first clue. But again, those great reviews.... He took out the power box and we ordered together, a new one. He took my computer home to finish the 'repair' when the new boxe arrived. When he received the new power box, he told me it worked for 5 seconds then the computer again turned off. My original problem was my computer just shut down. So he said it might be the motherboard which he doesn't do repairs on, AND he said 'to tell you the truth, I don't think it'd be worth it to put money into it to fix it." NOTE: My computer is a great computer, above the average home computer. It's 5 years old. I asked him to bring me back my computer with the 2 power boxes, the original one and the new one. He brought it back to me a few days later, no power box installed and only one of the screws to hold the back of the computer was there. :( Long story short, ha, I told him I would be getting a 2nd opinion. The next day I took it to another person and he fixed it within a couple of hours. He said, the place you plug in the power box, the pins were bent and the casing cracked with a small piece broken off. He was able to straighten the pins and get the new power box in and the computer works great! I can assure you, the pins were not bent when Mr. Coppens took my computer.

I spoke to Troy and he said to come in so I can show him my laptop monitor as it was damaged. He called me later that day with a quote. It took two weeks for him to get the part as one company had it and then became backordered. The communication from Troy could have been much better through email, call or even text. My screen took 4 weeks and he missed a few deadlines. But when you see him in person he is nice and friendly and we had a great conversation. He is very knowledgeable about this craft. I do suggest his service and the price was reasonable.

When I came down, he took my machine apart just to confirm his suspicions, and was correct. These guys may not look very fancy, but they know their stuff and are very friendly and NOT greedy. My poor old HP would cost me $150 to repair (melted solder of GPU) or he would give me $50 trade in towards a reconditioned one in his shop. I walked out of there with a newer HP with all the same bells and whistles and a six month warranty for only $200. He even transferred my hard drives onto the new machine at no extra charge. I was very impressed and happy with the friendliness and professionalism at TechWorld. I would recommend them to anyone; I'm going to bring my Dad in there next.

I was terrified because I do not know anything about computers and I was afraid I would hit a button that would erase all my work. Hundreds of files. I called the net medic and immediately took it down to their office. He was able to save everything that was somewhere on the computer I guess and then do what he had to do to put it all back in and my computer is now up and running perfectly. I do however have to change or redo the passwords on all my accounts online but luckily I have them all written down. Both Brian and Sophia are lovely people and I was so pleased with what they did.
