Hats off to him to be a voice for the sometimes voiceless. He's sincere, patient and thorough! Talked to me an hour one day while I was looking for a great doctor for my Dad. A great doctor I found! Dr. Stern works at SAGE (otherwise known as S+AGE or Specialized Ambulatory Geriatric Evaluation) and his team is also great. Can't say enough good about Debbie Speciner, LCSW, Program Director! Very responsive on e-Mail. If you're looking for someone else (parent or friend) you can feel safe knowing they won't be neglected here! I was much impressed by his careful examinations, sound judgment, and expertise, which led me to ask him to take over as my mother's primary care physician. Although "best-practices" guidelines for years have called for a single medical professional to manage, coordinate, and monitor the total medical care of their patients--particularly the elderly who generally have more medical issues, more prescribed medications, and more health practitioners providing a wide array of therapies than younger patients--Dr. Stern is the first physician I have met who takes this guideline seriously. Dr. Stern closely monitors the therapies and medications that all my mother's doctors and specialists prescribe. Since he has monitored her care, the number of medications she takes has been reduced and dosages adjusted. She is happier, healthier, feels better, and her quality of life has greatly improved. I am deeply grateful for Dr. Stern's commitment to providing a truly exceptional level of care.

My family and I all have Aetna HMO insurance plans, this was our first mistake choosing this…read moreinsurance and the plan type. We had very few choices due to the business insurance structure set up by others working on our behalf. We researched all the practitioners within the plan and found Tarzana Medical Group located at 18607 Ventura Blvd Suite 302, Tarzana, CA 91356, they had the least amount of poor reviews so this tells you already what we are dealing with. My son and I both were seen by Nurse Practitioners, very nice, but they did not follow any/all the normal protocols when doing a full physical exam. The Medical Doctor who is the face of the business is not accessible. They asked questions, did not go into any real details or check any physical signs that most Medical Doctors would or could to be completely thorough. They took blood pressure, urine and blood because they have to for the proper billing codes to make their money. I want to note that everyone seemed very nice including the office manager. I was shocked when the practitioners did not get health information from me directly but insisted on only getting info from my minor son in a separate room. I attempted to discuss the needs he has but what I was trying to explain was brushed off by the practitioners, his intake documents and my requests for referrals for other Medical services was also overlooked. The doctor's office phoned me about my referral approvals and at that time I asked about my sons. They had only one listed that I was able to discuss in brief detail to the practitioners but the other very necessary and urgent needs were not listed. The office assistant said, when I asked why there are no referrals for my son, she stated we would have to book another appointment in one month when the insurance would cover the cost of a visit or telehealth visit. I asked her why we would have to be seen again as this was to be addressed in our initial visit, and she said I'm sorry that's just our policy. I asked to speak with the Office Manager, and they never called back. This is what I would consider poor practices and a money grab in this industry. Whenever you have a healthcare facility requiring that you have multiple services and visits that are not warranted you can bet they are trying to bill your insurance as much as they possibly can. This can affect your policy negatively so beware! If the insurance provider does not agree with the billing it will come back to haunt you due to a denial of payment and you can bet that medical service will come after you for these fees. Of course, I will be changing my insurance policy because Aetna has a very poor selection of medical professionals to select from but additionally I will be reporting this issue regarding this doctors' office to the Department of Health, and pursue some recourse with this issue, so I can get what we ultimately pay for which is medical services under this policy.j

1 star -- Horrible and traumatizing experience…read more Dr. Harri H. Ahn was the worst doctor I have ever encountered. I came in after experiencing a traumatic situation where i had been drugged and sexually assaulted. I was trying to explain what happened and ask for testing and medical help, but instead of feeling supported, I felt like I was being questioned and treated as if I was not telling the truth. At one point, the doctor said, "At this point it sounds like you're lying. I don't believe you because you keep changing your story." Hearing that as someone trying to seek help after a traumatic experience was devastating. This type of response is exactly why many survivors are afraid to come forward. When a nurse came in to draw my blood, I asked what the blood work was for because nobody had explained anything to me. Instead of calmly explaining, I felt like I was spoken to as if I should already know. Communication and informed consent are extremely important, especially in a situation like mine. The doctor also asked me, "So what do you want me to do? What type of exam?" I was shocked because I came to a medical professional for guidance and care -- I did not know what exams or tests I needed. I requested a female doctor, but I was told none were available. Because I no longer felt comfortable or safe continuing care there, I decided to leave. Before leaving, I asked about the pregnancy test they said they would do, and I was told it would not be done because I was leaving. I was then asked to sign paperwork stating that if i d*e after leaving, it would not be their responsibility. After this experience, I went to the UCLA Rape Treatment Center, I was treated with kindness, patience, and respect. They listened to me and helped me through the process. I hope this review encourages medical professionals to remember that patients coming in after trauma need compassion, not judgment.

We found out ourselves as we got a new pcp and new insurance cards out of nowhere. Of course due to Dr. Arasheben's office not notifying us of this change, we ran out of medication refills and had to wait for an appointment with a new PCP. Additionally, while we were still with this doctor's office, they would require visits every 3 months just for medication refills which seemed like a money grab. Overall, I unfortunately don't recommend Thrive CMG.
