Most facility have a smell that hits you as soon as you open the doors but not yadkin. I have never walked in and smell anything like other faculty I worked at or visited in the past. The staff treats the residents with respect and many go above and beyond their duties to make sure residents feel loved and special. I am very proud to tell people where I work because I truly love my job and the residents are the best.

I visited this nursing home because my grandma is there. She is 84 years old and she is living in…read morenumber 606. I've returned to my home across the country, so I think it's time to write an even-handed review of this place. One thing I thought was very odd was the number of flies. There were a good number of flies flying around Room 606. They were walking around, too. In fact, my grandma's roommate never spoke and didn't move much and these flies were actually on her blanket that covered her. I reported this to the staff and they brought a fly swatter the first day and installed a fly light the second day. However, this only put a small dent in the problem and did not solve it. Plus, I didn't see anyone clean any of the germs the flies brought in. The staff members who came on Monday were rude. One staff lady sat in a chair across the room from me and my grandma, glared at me for awhile and blurted out, "Who are you?" I said, "Who are you?" She identified herself and I did the same. On Monday, the staff felt the need to have three people sit beside my grandma's roommate. It made me feel a bit awkward. They also had some woman and her two kids visit. I guess this woman is a worker and it was her day off or something. The three workers lingered for quite awhile and it seemed like a very odd usage of resources. I was surprised they weren't giving my grandma a vitamin. The food they served her was awfully unhealthy and full of fat and empty calories. I was shocked they weren't giving her something more nutritious. I asked them how many calories she was receiving each day and they did not know. Since she is obese, they definitely should know. They were also giving her ice cold water, but they should have known to give her room temperature water, so her body could quickly and easily assimilate it. Plus, they gave her tiny little cups to drink the water and nobody encouraged fluid intake. My grandma should have been drinking 5-6 of the small containers they gave her each day, but instead, she may have drank half of one. I was and still am concerned about her dehydration. My grandma repeatedly told them, me and everyone who visited her she didn't want to be there and she wanted to go home. However, they didn't seem to care much. Some of them made reference to a doctor Soos who was never present. Patty said she'd check with the doctor to see if he would allow my grandma to take a multiple vitamin supplement (just a regular one I bought for her at the grocery store). When I checked with Patty the next day, she said she had been busy and didn't check with the doctor. I asked Patty if she took a vitamin supplement and she said yes. I'm not sure if she made the connection I was alluding to, but I hope she did. There was only one woman there who seemed nice, intelligent and respectful. We had a few conversations and I could tell she cared the right way and wasn't just mailing it in. In fact, we discussed disease prevention and things like that. I told my grandma that I trusted her to a degree, but I wasn't certain about the others. Although she has a room with a window, she still doesn't go outside. It would be nice for them to wheel her outside every once in awhile for some fresh air. My grandma has been there since January 21, 2011. She is currently taking medication for E. coli. Therefore, she must have contracted E. coli while she was there. According to Patty (who isn't a nurse, but is someone who gives medication and cares for the patients), she has E. coli because she hasn't been appropriately cleaned and this seems like it is their fault. Bare wire was exposed from the coaxial cable connected to the wall jack. When the television started flickering, I reported it to the staff. Later, a man came to fix it. I don't know what was wrong with him, but he glared at me and seemed awfully confrontational and weird, even though I was polite. He didn't fix it completely and said he had to go and he would fix it, tomorrow. It was about 4:30pm. I returned the next day and he did not fix it. I locked the door and used my grandma's bathroom on Saturday and Sunday and there was no issue. However, after I locked the door and while I was peeing in her bathroom on Monday, one of the staff members opened the door. They had to have heard the steady stream of pee coming out of my penis and hitting the water in the toilet bowl. Nonetheless, they barged in, informed me I wasn't allowed to use her bathroom and left. The Yadkinville Nursing Center seemed ok at first, but by the end of my three day visit, it felt pretty gross and weird. It didn't seem like a very good place for my grandma to be. The staff seemed odd, too; almost like actors in a bizarre, horror movie or something. I would not recommend this nursing home to anyone. It isn't very clean, they don't take great care of the people living there and the staff isn't very friendly. Some of the people who work there are pretty weird, too.

They offer individual homes, condos, as well as assisted living care. The entire staff is very friendly and welcoming and treat everyone with respect. The front lobby of the main building always has a receptionist to assist you. This gated community is a hidden secret and you can catch does and deers as you walk around d the property's. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to downsize and lived more relaxed.

They refuse extra food for the residents and when employees give them extra they are reprimanded or fired. Too many other retirement homes that are much better run and only care about the residents not how to make the big bucks like this facility!! Albert acres is a mixed community of small homes , apartments, assisted living. From the moment you…read morego through the checkpoint, you can tell it is a very quiet and private community the employees care very much for the property as well as the residence and provide an exceptional quality of care for all of the people residing here. The property is very inviting to walk around as they have a small pond, lots of artwork on the outside, and the inside most buildings are connectedand you can walk from building the building without having to go outside. This is a higher end residential community, so it is a bit expensive to live here but as I stated the quality of care is exceptional, whether you are living on your own or assisted living.

I work as a sitter for a client in Strickland Place. The CNA's when I'm working here are rude and…read moreunfriendly. On multiple occasions I have heard them talking about the residents loudly out in the halls. I have even heard them talking about the resident that I sit with. One of the CNAs said that the resident under my care, "is very rude and when I see her call light on when I'm working I purposely don't go in there because I don't want to deal with her" what if I wasn't in the room with her and there was an emergency? Another one of the CNAs took a very ugly tone with my client and said, "I don't know I'm not in her brain" when the resident asked when the nurse would be coming in with her pills. I found this very disrespectful and I personally would never speak to a resident or any person that way. Another thing is that they take up to 30 minutes to even come into the room and see what the call button was pushed for. The nurses, food service workers, and other employees are very nice and the facility is always clean. The only real problem i've seen is with the CNA's. f
