We were visiting family in the area and needed to get our new to us vehicle checked out. They got us an appointment quickly, and immediately identified the issue. We purchased our first vehicle from Modern Auto 20 years ago, and have purchased 3 more from them through the years. We have trusted them with all of our service and body shop needs as well. Due to vehicle shortages, we purchased our most recent Chevy vehicle from another dealership, but still used Modern Auto for service pertaining to that vehicle. When after only 18,000 initial miles on the new vehicle the tires were bald, we were told they used the warranty to have them replaced. In October, my husband hit a large buck with our Trax, and the front of our car was destroyed. We trusted the body shop work to Modern Auto. Intitial estimates suggested $3000+ worth of damage, but later estimates added an additional $4000+. After two weeks we picked up the vehicle with the assurance that it was fixed. That was not the case. After the significant accident no alignment had been completed, and now 4.5 months later we have bands showing on the insides of all four tires. I contacted Modern Auto about the tires and have been given the run around, with the blame being put on everyone except Modern Auto. They even suggested we were to blame for not telling them to do the alignment after the accident. As neither my husband or I are mechanics or body work experts, we deferred to their wisdom in how the repair should be managed. Our trust was misplaced. We were even told that if Modern Auto replaced all the tires that went bad, they "would never make any money". We don't want anyone else to put their family's safety at risk, please use caution when trusting your vehicle's care to Modern Auto. read more

Needed a new key for my Yukon XL, lost my only key. Dave in the Service Dept told me my vehicle would need to be towed to the shop as reprogramming the key could not be done at home. Quoted me $80 to reprogram the key + cost of towing. Completely different story from Jim Trenary in Union. At Jim Trenary, I paid $37 for replacement key and $15 for codes from GM and programmed the key while car sat on my driveway! Feels like a rip off to me. I left a message on Bob's voicemail voicing my concerns.....never got a call back. read more

I am super picky as to where I take our cars(it must be a known dealership)and it can be something as simple as a oil change! They got us in right away on a very short notice.
