My wifes 2008 PontiacG6 GT hardtop convertible had been making a whistling sound anytime you accelerate, since I purchased it used in 2021. Two dealerships and 3 other places later Rods was recommended to me by The Shop in Pacific, MO after they performed a state inspection when I asked about the noise yet again. I made an appointment at Rods muffler and took it. After troubleshooting the noise, they replaced the exhaust resonator and poof the noise is gone! I'm so happy I highly recommended Rods Muffler in Union, not only are they Outstanding at their job but also very reasonable!!! Went to Rods to get a hanger welded onto a glass pack I installed and was making a lot of noise. I dealt with Rod, who quickly took a look and assessed the problem. He was very frank, and very honest and addressed the issue immediately. For labor and parts he charged me a small pittance. I had these guys put an exhaust system on my Honda S2000. They were quick, friendly, skilled and had good rates. While talking to them I could tell that they both enjoyed their work and took pride in it. What a great experience getting my exhaust system repaired. I have a 2004 Dodge Sprinter, it is actually a rebadged Mercedes. A section of pipe between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter rusted and became separated. To replace the part with factory new would have been astronomical, the pipe was only available from the dealer as an assembly with 2 catalytic converters and a huge muffler. The muffler and cats were in very good shape all I needed was a section of pipe. Rod was able to fashion a section of custom bent pipe and a very tidy weld job. Innovative and cost effective. 63 bucks out he door. A great little shop with competent workers. It was worth the 35 minute drive from Saint Louis County. read more

But, my local mechanic (who I trust) recommend Rod's out in Union and called him the "Best in the business". Rod replaced BOTH cats for less than the bid I got from the dealer to replace JUST ONE.
