He looked at the car relatively quickly (within the hour) and had it safe to drive again within another hour.... and then charged us way less than we were expecting!! When does THAT happen in an emergency car-broke-down situation?? It was awesome. If I lived locally, this place would be my go-to shop. Then I lived in Montreal & Toronto and realized how hard it is to find an honest mechanic (or is it automotive service technician?). Over the years since leaving NS, I've tried dozens of different garages and wasted thousands of dollars on unnecessary work. Eventually, I lost faith and concluded that most of the shops in big cities are full of con artists because there's enough people that repeat customers aren't so valuable. Then I found this shop, totally by chance. I had tried several of the "highly reviewed" places throughout the GTA and each time, I'd leave with misgivings about how much I'd spent and whether it was really justified. One day I just said "screw it", found a place that was super close and just went in blind. I must say, I'm really impressed (and relieved) with what I found. The owner (Joe) and his son (Eric) are super honest and thorough. They are great listeners and communicators, which is important when trying to diagnose specific issues in older vehicles so as to avoid red herrings. I'm driving around a 13-year old high mileage rattle bucket and so I know there's plenty of opportunity to suggest that I "change the blinker fluid" but everything they've ever proposed is sensible, reasonable, above board and beyond reproach. They have fair prices to boot. Normally I don't take this much time to review anything other than restaurants but discovering this shop has had such a positive impact on my life (imagine when you finally find that barber who does it right and multiply that by 10) that I felt compelled to share. Finally I can just leave the friggin' car in the hands of someone I trust and get the job done with peace of mind.

They recommend some services and no pressure unless the work is necessary. My only gripe here is the way they drive your car in the service bay. They drive way too fast. Please be gentle with your customer's vehicles. There's a comfortable waiting area with complimentary bottle water and Keurig coffee machine. This review is for the location at 215 Islington Ave. I would NEVER go there again. A total scam…read more I have never been this angry with a mechanic in the 25 years of my driving career. We got a quote to get the gearshift selector cable and the neutral safety switch replaced: $534.88 in labour and $1121.20 in parts plus HST. We said go ahead. Then, when they tried to replace the parts, THEY BROKE THE BOLT and said the only way to fix it is to pay additional $3000 to get the transmission replaced. We told them this was unacceptable so they said they'd just weld the broken bolt back together, without installing the parts. They said they couldn't return the parts so ended up charging us the full $1121.20 plus HST for the parts which we ended up taking home with us. Then, on top of that, they had the audacity to charge us $484.88 plus HST for labour, ie the original quote for REPLACING the parts minus a $50 discount, ie. THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE PARTS BUT CHARGED US FOR THAT WORK ANYHOW. This is absolutely outrageous. They should have charged us for the welding if anything which I cannot imagine being this expensive. Overall a terrible experience. I feel we've been taken advantage of.

Gotta admit I was a tad hesitant to take my vehicle here for service given the W5 news coverage…read morethat the brand received a year or two ago but I was in a bind as the heat had cooked the battery in my Jeep and I had stuff to do! I had previously called CAA (rip off), Visited Canadian Tire (double rip off) and even had a fleeting thought about going back to the dealership... HA!!!! (See my review of Islington Chrysler for more details). But when I called AG+R the gent (Eugene) I spoke with was friendly, helpful and gave a quick quote and timeline. I came in right before opening at 8am and they were already taking people in to get them assessed, quoted and into the queue so parts could be ordered and customers serviced promptly at opening. There were two prices for a replacement battery, acceptable and Canadian Tire Crazy (CTC). I opted for the more reasonable price, the battery was ordered and delivered within 15 minutes. $280 all in about 25 minutes later I was paid up and back in my car and on my way. Boom. Car is running great again, and I really appreciated how they tried their best to find an affordable quality option to get me on my way as quickly as possible. Look forward to taking my future business here as it's close to home and offer great service.

Came here for a brake service and replacement of my power steering line and pump…read more Car came back running rough, spewing a lot of black smoke and could not reliably reach highway speeds. After two visits back at LP Europe Motorsport to try to correct the issue, they told me the problem was most likely not a result of their work. Frustrated, I took the car to another mechanic who put it on the hoist and found the issue within 10 minutes. When LP Europe Motorsport was replacing the power steering pump they damaged the turbo outlet hose which resulted in incorrect boost when the engine was calling for it. This caused the poor performance I was experiencing. In addition, the replacement of my parking brake cable resulted in lots of scratches and damage to the interior of my car. Missing plastic pieces of trim, cracked center console and plastic around the shifter that was visibly damaged. When I showed Luis this damage, he just looked at me and shrugged. I'll never go back to LP Europe Motorsport and I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of professionalism and quality of work. They simply do not care about your vehicle or your safety. I would recommend that anyone planning to take their vehicle here to seriously reconsider. Edit: Vehicle is a 2003 VW Golf TDI.
