I went here today for gel nails. The guy who did the prep upgraded my service and put some hand moisturizing wraps on my hands. That was ok. The woman who actually painted my nails did a very quick job. I had to call her attention to a problem. She filed it really quick and said You're done. I left a very good tip (not sure why) and my nails are already starting to peel from the cuticle. I won't be going back. read more

Very nicely decorated in the inside with great chairs. The workers are kind. However, they always try to upsell people on prices. For example, offering services even if you didn't ask for them like eyebrow waxing. Their prices on their website are not accurate. They're around $10-20 more at the salon. The last time my mother and I have gone in they've forgotten about her nails even though we made an appointment. The past few times I've gone my nails usually break off within a week and are bumpy. They have a nice selection of colors though. Do not let them upsell you! Some of the workers will ask 3-4 times!! read more

Overall good experience! We walked in and they took us. Had to wait a little bit but thats normal for a nail salon. They were friendly and do quality nails. The prices were a little high for the designs. The acrylic nails themselves were average price but with the designs we got, both of these nails in the picture were about $150 together. Nails are good quality and done nicely though. read more

Not a great experience at all. The manicures are over priced. My daughters and I asked for regular manicure and they tried to up sell us three time. "No thank you, just a regular manicure please". They told me is was 20 for each of us but we ended up with a $76.00 bill versus 60.00. Wasn't going to argue, we just wanted to get out of there. The manicures lasted 2 days. Save your money and find another place. read more

i called ahead to ask their availability and was told they could fit me in for a pedicure. once i came in they had me wait in the sitting area for a bit and then brought me to a massage chair. i then had to wait over an hour and thirty minutes before they finally started my pedicure. they came over multiple times to thank me for waiting and put new hot water in the foot bath since the water went cold. once they did my pedicure, it was rushed and painful, only lasting about 25 minutes. she ripped my cuticles (she held onto my cuticle with the cuticle trimmer and tugged to make the skin rip on multiple nails) and made me bleed. when doing the hot stone massage, she was so rushed and inattentive she kept hitting my ankle bones with the stones and it was very uncomfortable. other customers in the salon also appeared to have extended waits for services, even those with scheduled appointments. another girl who came in with an appointment for a mani-pedi got her pedicure started on time, but then had been waiting for her manicure to start for over 30 minutes by the time i left the salon. overall not relaxing, and unnecessarily painful. they do have an excellent polish color selection though. read more

I usually have pretty good experiences but that is when I come in on week days. DO NOT come in on weekends. I scheduled an appointment for 12:45 and it's been 45 minutes and I'm still waiting to get started. They do great work but they do not go by appointments at alllllllll. read more

I've had acrylic nails for months and have tried out different salons in Ames. This one gave me my worst experience. The first time I went, I had scheduled an appointment and ended up waiting for 30 minutes before they started working on my nails. They were very nice but seemed desperate to keep me as a customer. A couple days later I broke a nail and went back and brought along my friend. They fixed mine for free, which was appreciated, but my friend asked for dip nail, received acrylic, the guy got mad that he had to shave it all off, and then charged her extra for the cost of labor for his own mistake. AND I just broke another nail. Never broke a nail in all of my months with acrylics. I don't think they apply enough acrylic to support the nail. If I were you, I'd go somewhere else to get your nails done. read more

worst and most painful pedicure i've ever had. my options were boiling hot or freezing cold for water. i wasn't given an option between gel or regular polish.the guy cut every toe open and used a chemical that burnt my nails to get my polish off of my toes to start. he then proceeded to constantly dig his own nails and the tools into the cuts he had made and then went to a different customer leaving 1 nail unpainted for another employee to paint. he was coughing throughout the entire pedicure and it was incredibly unprofessional. read more

I got dip nails that were rushed through, are badly shaped, and not not even 2 days after I got them done they are completely falling apart. Me and my mom went together to get her birthday nails done, i am a nail tech, i usually don't get my nails done due to my experience on doing my self. We started out good until my mom waited 30 minutes to get her nails done! ( we made an appointment) my mom watched while she worked on other people that were there after we got there. My nails are horrible! She did not know what she was doing i had to keep telling her how to do her job! She didn't care and said they were okay, she continued to do my nails as i made faces because i was irritated with the service and the job! She kept saying that if anything happens come back and fix, as a nail tech you should never expect your work not to last! You never offer room for error you do the job right the first time so they don't have to come back for breaks or lifts! -me and my boyfriend made an appointment for 3:00 and arrived at 2:55 in order to make sure we were there on time. they ended up being busy from walk ins and did not have chairs ready for us (the people with an appointment). 2 other women and their 3 kids came in with no appointments, and 5 minutes after we came in asking for mani pedis. the 2 women were seated TOGETHER and before me and my boyfriend who like i said previously, had an appointment. after they seated the 2 women they sat me down and had my bf sit across from me because "they didn't have another chair ready next to me" so i got to wait for over half an hour with my feet in cold water for my boyfriend to be seated. i then had to wait for them to finish the walk ins (even though my appt was at 3) and didn't get to have my nails done until 6. 3 hours of waiting for the WALK INS is bs and unfair to me and my time and i was not offered any compensation. i have been to this place 3 times and will not be returning due to this situation. read more
