One word to summarize MJC : useless…read more I challenge anyone to find a single graduate from this college that isn't a nurse (or some lesser derivative, like RT or LVN). There's a good chance you won't, because that's all this college ever produces. Back when I was a young (and very naive) human I used to think college and higher education was for advancing humanity. Building better technology, scaling, furthering our understanding of the universe. Boy, was I mistaken, because at MJC I learned the truth about what college is REALLY for. Which is just to PRETEND to want all that but actually just kiss @$$, smile, feign competence, and, most importantly, try to get a big paycheck. At MJC, everyone just agrees with the majority, and logic or critical thinking? Hah! Nice sense of humor you got there . Now that's what I have to say about the students there and how they're nothing but incompetent Muppets. Let's talk about the college as a whole Releasing nothing but Healthcare workers. Why does MJC do this? Because its the easiest field for incompetence to hide. You see, as a plumber, you either fixed the sink or you didnt. As an electrician, your light either works, or it doesn't. If you're a mechanic, the car either runs... or it doesn't. But in Healthcare there's plenty of incompetent actors to flourish behind ambiguity. The right approach, the right mannerisms, the right personality. All of these are subjective and debatable, unlike whether or not a car simply runs. Another reason why Modesto poops out these useless Healthcare workers is because its the easiest "problem" to fabricate. If your car runs, you assume it works. If your sink drains, you assume no problem. Theres no "nuance", theres no "condition", theres nothing to attach narratives to. Theres no "your car work, oh but it has 'autism' and thats why you need to also give it this". Theres also no emotions. Your car gets serviced for an oil change, there no gut wrenching potential (or phantasmal) "cancer" thats going to demand big monies to cure a "problem" you didnt know you had. Healthcare is the easiest field to scam humans with because it has the biggest cloud of ambiguity and distortion compared to the trades. Its honestly sickening once you see it for what it is. Im not about to waste my life on gaslighting nonsense, even if it pays well. Besides, I can do much better with my capabilities without these uselsss "higher" education camps. I'd give it one star but then I'd be completely also discrediting the useless sciences I did learn there like Anatomy, Physio, and Microbiology. But beyond a few worthwhile classes (that you cant even really capitalize on without significant capital) going here is a waste if you truly want to level up your intelligence. But if your goal is to be a mindless drone and collect a paycheck, itll probably serve that function.

Kim made it clear that the Covid booster was a requirement and she had to say in a firm smirky voice"not even for religious purposes." To be honest, I almost walked out but I stayed to take the test which I passed however, I was denied because of my belief and this is very unfortunate because I attend MJC and have been a student for about 2 1/2 years now and I was really looking forward to this program because I have heard they are top notch in the area. The reason I gave them 3 stars is because Nick was professional.

I graduated with my official Associates in Arts Degree in: General Studies, Social & Behavioral Sciences domain. What a fascinating subject. I had been attending school for over 20 years I believe it is and was so excited when COVID-19 struck. I saw it as an awesome opportunity to further my collegiate studies and obtain by hard honest labor, an actual college degree. MJC was good to me. Great to me even. I was able to finish up several classes and in doing so I obtained my college degree from Modesto Junior College in Modesto, California. They keep the campus clean, clean and clean. I loved this. Since resources are precious to me and my bunch of rescued family members; cats and dogs, being able to stay home and learn and retain the knowledge from the Professors was a perfect fit. I obtained my degree in the middle of COVID-19 and although it was very stressful; it took me about one year to recuperate from the semesters accomplished & behind me. I haven't been able to use my degree yet but am in the midst of locating something fun and educational that I can sink my teeth into and hopefully earn some much-needed income while there. There is so much financial aid that halfway through me starting my college journey, I qualified for 100% no-cost financial aid. It relieved so much stress and anxiety and anguish for me. (I live with several mental health conditions, one of which is the Bipolar Type 1, and that makes for a challenging environment and some memory challenges but I persevered and passed ALL my classes. I am so grateful. I thought I earned an A/B from my college Professor for an advanced English course but alas, the letter "C" is what remains. Sorry about that, I digressed ;) Check out the DOR = Dept. of Rehabilitation out of Modesto. It's a State of California-funded "NO COST IF YOUR DISABLED" which I was at the time. They set me up with a refurbished laptop, school supplies, pens, and pencils paper, etc each semester. They even offer assistance, hands-on I'm told, for locating that career once graduated. It's an amazing COST-FREE way to obtain your college education. My school guidance counselor Kayla Locke IS THE MOST AMAZING helpful and supportive counselor I have EVER encountered. She was part-time when she worked with me to aid me in meticulously at that, be aware of what courses and when I needed to take them to obtain my degree. IT WORKED! She's wonderful and if you're seeking a guidance counselor she's a sure fit. Her knowledge saved me from taking a couple of courses we thought I needed. She surprised me one day via email that I didn't have to take the courses which allowed me to graduate ahead of my class by months. Yes, she is just that professional yet personable at the same time; it's a perfection of a blend. Best wishes to you on your college journey at MJC... Thank you ~Jana Leigh Thomas MJC Graduate :)

The medical office specialist course is quite interesting with terminology on one side and full computer on the other, to me. The staff and instructors genuinely care about their students and want to see us succeed. Mr. Bennie has been incredibly helpful throughout the program. He is very professional, always answers questions, and takes the time to guide students through any challenges. No matter what comes up, he always finds a way to help us out and make sure we stay on track. Ms. Brenda is truly an angel on earth. She is compassionate, supportive, and always encourages us when things get stressful. Her kindness makes such a difference during nursing school. Ms. Paula is an amazing teacher who explains concepts clearly and helps students feel confident in the material. She pushes us to do our best while still being supportive and understanding. Ms. Antoinette is the most patient and kind clinical instructor. She takes her time teaching us in clinicals and makes sure we feel comfortable learning hands-on skills. She creates such a positive learning environment and truly cares about her students. All of them have guided me, supported me, and helped me find the resources I need to continue growing in this program. Nursing school is not easy, but having instructors and staff like this makes all the difference. I can't wait to finish the program and continue my journey in nursing!

Please read before enrolling. I have just graduated from this LVN program, and I can honestly say…read morethat throughout the entire 12 months, the program was extremely unorganized. Module 1 was by far the most difficult not because of the material itself, but due to poorly prepared instructors who did not seem knowledgeable about what they were teaching, along with administration that relied heavily on fear and intimidation rather than support. Module 2 continued with the same issues. When I reached out for help regarding a class concern, I contacted Mr. Baca, the VN coordinator, and received a very cold, dismissive response. There was no compassion, no guidance, and his demeanor was unprofessional, rude, and insincere. This lack of support was consistent throughout the program. Module 3 was overall the easiest academically; however, the Med-Surg 2 instructor was frequently absent and displayed petty behavior, which further reflected the program's lack of structure and accountability. Module 4 was the one exception. Dawn, the OB instructor, was exceptional--she is one of the most passionate and dedicated nurses I have ever met. Ms. Charmaine, the instructor thats a NICU nurse was also outstanding and truly amazing. These two instructors were the highlight of the program and the only ones who genuinely cared about student learning and success. Along with Jay the clinical instructor, he holds a lot of passion for what he does. I did pass the exit exam and have completed the program. I would only recommend this school to individuals who are 100% committed to becoming a nurse, highly resilient, and capable of navigating a program with minimal support. Unfortunately, there is little to no help from instructors or management. Ms.Tu although i did not speak to her much she was always professional and helpful when i did contact her. Overall, this program lacks organization, professionalism, and adequate student support.
