Thea is by far the BEST hair stylist out there! I have been going to her for 8+ years and have always been extremely happy with my hair styles. Her flat irons are next level so much so I drive 90 minutes from my house to get one! I love her haircuts (I get long layers with curtain bangs), the clip ins she makes are high quality and last forever. Plus she gives the best hair shampoos! Best of all Thea really cares for my hair as if it were her own. She's patient and explains what my hair needs always focused on getting my hair to a health state. I wanted to like this place but I won't be returning. She isn't respectful of her clients time. In my experience, she either comes late or leaves you waiting and makes no acknowledgement of the fact which annoys me more than her actually being late. I also hate the way she wastes time to stop and talk/sing when she's doing my hair. I don't know why so many stylists think that your time isn't valuable. She does hair as expected. I've never been disappointed with my hair afterwards. One more pet peeve. Please learn your client's name and if you forget, be an adult and just ask again. The owner of this shop "Thea" has no reasoning abilities, no sense of understand when confronted with a concern of ones time. Here is long story short. My last appointment here was scheduled for 1:00 PM. She didn't start washing my hair until 1:47 PM. After washing & conditioning my hair I wash placed under the dryer. The dryer timer has expired and I'm still not being attended to becuase she is still working on the previous client before me. By the way this client has been late every Saturday I've been scheduled for the past year plus. Not to mention she has been my stylist for over 10 years. She finally finished her previous client. Then started braiding my hair at 2:53PM. She didnt finish braiding my hair until 4:37 PM. Yes, these are actually times I clocked this to address this with her. Thea is 100% unprofessional as they come. Voicing your opinion to her directly in a calm respectable manner will only upset her. My personal opinion she needs to seek some type of help for her delusion of grandeur. She might run a shop but her superiority complex should be put in check in front of clients. Let's talk prices....she has been charging me $70 for French braids down the side. On my last appointment all of sudden she charged me $75 out of no where. She didn't have time to explain the charge and tried to tell me she has always charged me $75. I was willing to open my online statements and show her all my transactions. Nevertheless, she didn't have the time she was late for a nail appointment. I guess I was charged the extra 5 for being in her shop to long...go figure¯\_(ツ)_/¯. How do you have a 1PM appointment and leave the shop @ 4:37PM? Totally unacceptable! If you have a whole day to waste with something as simple as French braids that should take only an hour to get done anywhere else on earth. Then come on down and lose a whole day of time. I booked an appointment weeks ago on StyleSeat. I wanted to see whether I needed to bring hair or if they sold hair at the location. I messaged via StyleSeat, called (no voicemail but able to send text notification via voicemail), texted and reached out via FB messenger. No response at all. If I'm getting ready to spend a few hundred dollars, I expect to be able to reach the person who is supposed to do my hair. Idk what's going on with this place but I decided to cancel and find someone else because I needed to get my hair done for an occasion. The owner is rude. Her attitude always seems to need some adjusting. I don't know about others, but I don't trust people doing my hair who convey hostile energy, but my nonchalant self booked anyways. I booked an appointment via StyleSeat. I was late because of the Bay Area rain. I don't live local to that "salon" so drive time was a bit longer than usual. I arrived 30 minutes late, but seemingly the stylist, and I arrived at the same time. She clearly noticed I was the late arrival. She proceeds to enter the salon fast so I'm thinking give her a minute or two to settle in...no not even 15 seconds she rushes right back out with a backpack and locks the salon door. I rolled my car window down, and informed her I was the late 9a.m. appointment. Her response was quick and rude. At that point I decided how never will I patronize her service again. It's never what you say and do it's always how you say and do it. I was always taught to be humble and clearly she needs some teaching. I'm not being rude here, but the hairstyle that she does for me is basic, and doesn't even be that cute so I keep her service to the bare minimum a wash, condition, and flat iron. I mean she doesn't even sit clients under the hair dryer just straight to the heat of a blow dryer, but has the audacity to charge high end salon prices. Another thing if a client wants to save time and just wrap their hair up immediately after being flat ironed out it should never require you going two miles down the road to the local rite aid because she doesn't have hair pins (bobby pins) at disposal, those are cheap and should be nothing to give a client without thinking twice about price, but this is the same person charging customers over $20 for KeraCare edge control thats readying available at Walgreens for less than the price she desperately hikes up. I'm not surprised she's the only stylist working in the salon when there are clearly open stations not being utilized. She should ponder on that fact. Her salon procedures needs a hike. My current and longtime hair stylist does a much better job for less the price she just lives three hours away now so desperately I choose to sit in other stylist seats. But yesterday's experience taught me to keep my regular appointments booked with my kind and courteous stylist. And another fact please don't give out hair cutting advice when you immediately show lack in hair care for your "clients". Don't tell me my hair should be cut but you immediately applying heat with a blow dryer that isn't even a DYSON. read more
