Took my son to get a mid fade gentlemen's cut , simple . Yet he got a high fade military style looking gentleman's cut . He was crushed when he saw it wasn't how he usually gets his cut . Second I asked for a simple make my head bald , and clean up my beard .He didn't finish , I kept moving since his machines kept pulling my hairs instead of cutting it . When I asked why he couldn't finish it he said my hair was too think and he suggest I finish it at home ... this is what I get for procrastinating and giving a small shop like this the time of day. He is super old and I'm sure at some point he was a good barber but like his shop , and tools he's outdated . Still payed the old man but never coming back . Support local! Make sure you have cash! I have been here a few times for my boyfriend's haircuts. Moe definitely takes his time and pays attention to detail! His haircuts are always clean and sharp. He's also very nice and friendly and gives my child a lollipop before we leave. The place itself is very cute. It's outdated but in a good way. It takes you back in time to older barber shops. Doesn't look like much from the outside- in fact I think I've passed It a million times & just found it on yelp this morning. It's VERY old school & you can tell it's been part of the city for a long time. This man knows what he is doing and if you get him to crack a smile, you'll feel at home. He cut my boys' hair well and even gave us a little Greek lesson- seriously, if you've ever seen "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", he's very similar to her father in the movie. Best barber I've been to! Being African-American in this area (Riverside county) it's hard to find a barber that knows how to work with black people hair texture. Last time I went to the barber shop I had to loan them MY personal pik so they would have a tool to use on my hair. Moe knew what he was doing and had all of the necessary tools. His prices are great too. Moe was friendly... he didn't ask me a million questions like most people do when you're sitting in their chair. I was able to relax and just simply get my hair cut. I saw this place had good reviews so I went to check it out. Moe had a very dry personality for a barber and he smelled like cigarettes. Other reviewers said he took his time on their haircut but I felt he took very little time and was rough handed with trimmers. It felt like I was getting my scalp scraped. The cut cost $15 cash which was OK for what you get. Next time, I'll try a different place. Oh, he would get calls to his business and rather than answer the call, he screened and ignored them. He was insightful, understanding, and patient when we discussed where my hair had been and in what direction we would be going with it. The shampoo was relaxing and he really took his time. You had the confidence that he really knows what he is doing from start to finish. He asks the right questions, and went over every inch of my head as he familiarized himself with head shape and hair growth patterns. Afterward, I felt like a new woman when I looked in the mirror. I walked out of there feeling great, sporting red carpet hair. And, as much as I liked my late barber I have to say that Moe is perfection.
